Winton Sprints - Sat 28 July - Club C/ships Rnd 5
Scotsman replied to Bec's topic in Archived Events
I should be in - Need to sort tyres. But i'll be there anyway. Is the silver bullet coming out to play bris? -
Someone ask this guy... He should know

The real question is: If we had babies would it be an EVO? Do two GTR's produce an EVO? Did anyone do genetics / cybornetics at Uni?
-
Number 1 - Comes through with the goods again.. Snowy is correct here people.

hehe - maybe - bribes are accepted for early entry. Basically DECA is a very popular event, and one that has helped to grow SAU-VIC to where is it now. As the event is put on by the SAU committtee it must be offered to current financial members of the club first. However we don't want to see DECA as a members only event as such. We do like to see a good round mix of cars and people and to achieve this we reserve a few spots on the initial opening list for those people who have never done a DECA previously. We do this because we want DECA to continue to grow the club and be our flagship event.

Drift for Dummy's was a very successfull event for SAU-VIC and we would like to run another one in the future. For now we do not have one scheduled and wont be looking into it again until probably 2008. The problem with Drift for Dummy's is the man power. For one we have already got committee arranging the DECA Motorkhana Series four times a year which requires a large amount of time and effort from the committee as well as expensive weekends away in Sheparton. The second problem is that the instructors from the first drift for dummy's are not all still in contact with us for various reasons and if another D4D was to go ahead we would need to look at hiring these instructors. But we do have another exciting idea for an event where we can use our own people. So stay tuned.!

I'll talk DECA - Do NSW want to come up with a theme for the day? Cause otherwise i'll just have to name the circuits what I think they should be... Something like Flower power / various flower species names perhaps?
-
Yeah definatly get the diff fixed before DECA. Shim that sucker up.. Open wheeling diffs are no fun at DECA - You need to slide a little to be fast.

Hahah - Nice one Ni..

Probably best to just head to Shep on the Thu night before Winton to save the extra organisation. It's about a 45min drive to Winton in the morning. You could stay in Benalla or even Wangeratta, but it would be easier to just extend the stay @ Shep. Benalla is 10min drive to track. This is where SAUVIC usually stays if we do a Winton track day. Wangeratta is 25min to Winton, but the benefit of Wangeratta is it's on the Hume Hwy and on the NSW side of Winton. So this could actually suit you guys if you wanted to arrange anothe rnight somewhere. The good thing about the Friday's @ Winton is you don't need to be there for a Driver Briefing. You can just show up when you want. Pay your $100 and go nuts. They have like 20 sessions for car, 20min bikes, 20 race cars then they rotate.

I'm interested in this morbit fascination you seem to have with tissues... Tell you what! SAUVIC will organise a tour of the Kleenex factory in Shep for ya.

Here is the Event Schedule from the last DECA in May DECA12thMayES.pdf

Yep OK Done. I will advise you guys in advance as to when I will be opening the event and accepting entry forms. Payment information and fax numbers will be on the entry form. Will post the info in this thread.
-
LOL. I'm just hangin' around seeing what crap you fools are talking up. *Runs and hides before flaming starts. But seriously I was going to ask:- Is it easier for you guys just to fill out an entry form and do a deposit into the SAU-VIC bank account as per the entry form? Or are you going to get one person to collect money again... I think it would be easier for you guys and for me (And Mr. Tequila) if you all just did the entry form and payment yourselves ?? Thoughts?

Prizes have been provided by Nulon for SAU club members. Trophies will be ordered soon. We will be presenting these at the next SAU-VIC general meeting on the 17th July. Please note that we will be requesting a slip to collect a prize / trophie. Also post your times in the SAU VIC - Drag Times thread which is an ongoing 'best times' thread. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=173973

Winton Sprints - Ford Four Cc + Holden Sporting Cc
Scotsman replied to Scotsman's topic in Archived Events
Lol - You two are funny. I'm out unless I can sort some tyres before then. -
Yeah shouldn't be a problem. I've actually only ever had 2 hot laps at Calder. But when you have stock power it's the tracks with corners that you can make up time on. So Calder has typically been my worst track. But now with a little bit of power...

Ocasionally we get mail from other car clubs via CAMS to promote events. Here is a Winton sprint some of you may be interested in. Supp Regs + Entry Winton_sprint_JULY_2007.doc

It would be nice if SAU VIC had some CAMS trained officials, then we could start to look at running more of our own motorsport events. Such as Track for Dummy's If you are interested in becoming a CAMS official get in touch with Bruce Carter from CAMS. Email below: Dear Club Members, Please be reminded that a Scrutiny Module is to be conducted on July 7th and 8th as posted on the Website. The course is to be held at the Jaguar Car Club in Springvale. Further details will be forwarded to course participants. As it is not possible to conduct these complex courses on a regular basis and there is no guarantee there will be another this year, could you please ensure that this information is circulated amongst your members as quickly as possible and ensure interested parties contact the writer as soon as possible. Kind regards Bruce Carter Confederation of Australian Motor Sport State Office Victoria

As the CAMS delegate for SAU-VIC I get regular emails from CAMS. (Confederation of Australian Motor Sport) www.cams.com.au Some of these e-mails may be of benefit to someone, most of them will concern few. I'll post up in thread any information regarding CAMS emails.
