  6. Yeah. 1.35.5. 1.34 in Snowys car in Dutton '05 Troy your car wont do a 1.35 around winton. I think you will struggle to get lower than a 1.37.5 Nah, the more you drive winton in the R it becomes a GTR track. If you can drive it with the rears on slight spin then you get pulled around the track by the FWD. I think GTR has one up on you guys there too. Although I did see a mirage kick my ass at a Winton Fri practise day. So it can be done with light and small.
  7. Oil pressure is a good thing. Honestly I don't think you will get enought pressure to cause damage. Catch can and oil coolers are two seperate things, which I think you know but wasn't clear from that sentance above. But yeah we have been 'advised' to still add a litre or till it's above the 'F' on dip stick
  8. Get at least a 19row oil cooler installed and add a litre of good oil. I suggest Castrol Full Synth 10W/60 - "For race proven competition engine" or some marketing talk like that on the bottle No Melbourne stockish GTR's have had any oil related engine issues on track with the theory above.
  9. Bwaahaha. I can't afford to buy myself a beer right now, let alone a keg. But I trust your car after a few drives @ DECA. It's scarey, but can be quick when you don't care if you live or die.
  10. I've done a 1.50.1 at PI with the super wing and hard off semi's. I believe my car was capable of a 1.49 or 1.48 in the same configuration that got me a 1.21 @ Sandown. Haven't had a good run at PI recently, except for back when car was completly stock in which a 1.52 was quiet easy. I think Bris's car should be able to do a 1.51.9 with brand new re55's and the same driving style he showed me on the back track at DECA. Either that or he will kill himself.
  11. I have driven the previous shape SP23 and I was very impressed by the standard suspension settings. It's firm but smooth. Exactly what you want in a daily. The input from the steering and handling feel made me very confident in driving the car. Good choice Joel.
  12. True. I found that I got a lot of blow by until it settled at Full. But then I would top it back up and start again, becuase it's always better to have lots of blow by than to have spun bearings.
  13. Yes, STD RWD Best to send an e-mail to [email protected] It's their decision afterall. But I believe they may not do a DT session for Phillip Island.
  14. Yes when on street tyres However if you did injectors with your turbo, you would be in Mod RWD.
  15. 1. We can't police it. 2. We don't have enough people running in RWD STD Class to make it any more restrictive. 3. We really aren't fussed by what mods people do and don't want to make people buy standard parts when their nissan stuff breaks. 4. We don't want people to have to buy semi's if they don't want to. 5. The are still limited to the grip level that street tyres provide. If more than 3 people compete in more than 3 rounds in RWD STD class in 2007 we will revisit the classing requirements, until then 'yes' it is pretty relaxed. It's supposed to invite more GTST guys to hit the track.

    Deca Review

The runs I saw you do looked pretty good. I thought your car would have handled worse and had more lag than it did.

    Deca Review

Also i'd like to say the skill sets at these things has stepped up a level from everyone, but from what I saw the standout performances were from: Adz and Mav to get the fastest time on an event. Gareth for having the hardest launching car of the day and some very consistant times. Geoff Beable - More than a second quicker than everyone else on the long wang. Amazing! Pete - Shows what happens when your not more worried about filming yourself. Craig Moor - A big step up in pace from other DECA's Snowy - About time you went a touring rally without hitting a cone. Troy - U scare me on LW, but with concentration and an adjusted handbrake you could finish top three RWD. James - Didn't look fast, but you were, must have been doing it too easily.

I know your all very keen to see results by the amount of calls, SMS's, e-mails and PM's Snowy and I have had today. But your just going to have to wait an hour longer, because I actually had to do work @ work today. I'm 1/2 way through the results now. Gareth is looking good! Oh and I think that must have been someone else up on stage, cause I don't remmeber that happening.

Another successfull DECA mission. I agree with Snowy that a lot of you have made a huge improvement in your skills and it's great to see you all nailing the courses. I missed my car! A huge thanks to all who allowed me to still participate in the day by letting me drive their cars. Mav, Al and Troy And those who offered me a drive. Snowy, Leewah, Gareth
  23. Just had a phone call from Snowy. This is for anyone travelling up tomorrow morning. You will need to give yourself an extra 15min or so, as their is a good stretch of road coming into Shep (10km+) where their is roadwork and the speed limit is redueced to 60km/h. This starts about 30km this side of Shep.

  25. If anyone is reading this and is bored PM me or post up your CAMS or AASA Licence number. It will save me some manual entry later and make the registration quicker. If after 4pm don't worry about it.
