"kamikaze Battle" Hits Winton Raceway This Sep 24t
Scotsman replied to LowRollaBoy's topic in Archived Events
Thats just poo... The only good place to drift would be the red section, commonly refered to as "the tities" The blue section is walls both sides of a 3rd gear drift corner. Thats just silly for guys like me who are attracted to trees. Get them to change it and i'll come! -
I think were going to have to put a copyright on the team wang name snowie. It all started in a galaxy, I mean vic coutry town far far away.... (Wang eratta) Where young males come together with a common interest of racing their wangs.

Switch closes at midnight Adz! Is that all you can handle these days? Are you sure about the 200 beers.. Cause if so I'll come down and see if I can get through a few of em. Oh and Happy B'Day!!

Guys, Ben is focused on making cars go fast and developing them into serious performance cars, mostly based around achieving quick circuit times. If your serious about developing a GTST, then he's still the best guy around and i'm sure he'll be happy to do your work. At the moment there are a few long time customers doing some pretty serious stuff. So he's a busy man anyway. Don't bother calling up if you just want a blow off valve fitted and your new boost controller installed. There are plenty of workshops around that can do this type of work for you.

So whats the plan with bikes? Is a decent mountain bike with slicks good enuf? The team thingy doesn't mean we all only ride 50km does it? Like relay style? It just means that we support each other with slip streams and that crap.

You guys will need to pay me a visit one Saturday and we can ride up the road to the 1000 steps at the base of Mt. Dandenong. It's an awesome fitness test. And a real challenge. Plus there are always hot women walking up and down there on the weekend. A lot of footy teams go up there. We'll have to organise it.
-
I like how I now just get added without consultation. Keep up the good work Bec!

This actually slightly interests me. How serious are you guys? I assume since Brisby is on the team that we're not too serious? I used to race BMX, and ride everyday before I got my license. I will chat to you guys more about it, as i'm keen to build some fitness back up. How much time do I have?
-
I rang you guys like four times when I was chasing parts for my car and I never got an answer on that number. This was about 4months ago What are your business hours? And do you specialise in Skyline 2nd hand parts? If so you should look at aligning yourself with SAU-VIC

JIM RICHARDS!!! - Come on! What kind of Skyline fan wouldn't go! I dont know about you guys, but I haven't been to many functions where you can hear the words from the great man himself about the domination days at Gibson that lead to the mighty R32 conquering bathurst twice. Please be aware that the committe have beaten the price down for you guys and for the quality of the venue + food + drinks + guest speaker, it is a good value night. -
R32 Gtr Club/circuit Susp. Recommendations
Scotsman replied to RH9's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I saw the car finish second in Race 3 at Oran Park after the restart. It was on speedweek on Sunday in the 2lt + IP. Excellent effort! The car looks sweet sydneykid. I love how it shoots straght to the front!! I'd like to know more about the restrictions put on you guys to be able to compete in the class. They were discussing restrictors on SBS... Anyway keep up the good work. -
R32 Gtr Club/circuit Susp. Recommendations
Scotsman replied to RH9's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I agree with Sydneykid that the main theory behind braking is if you can still lock em up in the last lap, then they are good enough. But I'm going to have to contradict myself here. I have had the advantage of driving the Snowmobile and comparing it to my setup, and I found that I was consistently turning in too early to corners because I was pulling up quicker than expected. Now I didn't drive his car with the Brembo's in it, but his setup was exactly what mine is in my car now. DBA5000's, Ferodo DS3000, Good Fluid, and similar suspension tune. The braking markers I used in Snowies car were at least 5m deeper into the corner than with my own car. (and where snowie used to brake when I followed him) Now cosider that he's carrying more speed along that same straight than me with my measly 230kw. I can't accept that the brakes aren't pulling him up quicker, even if the braking markers were the same. Yes we can both lock our tyres up if we wanted to, but maybee he could do it in the first 0.3 sec of applying the brake, where as mine might take 0.5 sec to fully lock. Maybe thats the difference. More reliable stopping force when the intial contact is made. So i'm suggesting his brake setup is wiping off more speed in the first 1/2 second of applying than with his previous setup. I know that sorta contradicts the tests too, but they were American's and therefore the tests are viod. Bottom line is: I felt the Snowmobile pulled up awesome compared with mine. And I maintain my brakes very well. -
If you goto GD try to drive him down a bit. He usually asks reasonable prices, but not cheap. And one day a headlight will be 200 then next day it's 100. Barter!!

Exedy Twin Plate - GTR Pull Type - $950

Bump - $850 Delivered is a good price for this clutch guys. -
Hypothetically:- If it takes you 500 laps to put out a good lap and I go and do the same lap in under five laps who is the better driver? I know who i'd hire as my pofessional race car driver. I'd say that i'm a natural at it, and your 500 lap driver would probably only be able to put out 1 out of 50 hot laps in his first bathurst, and therefore wouldn't be compedative. But your right, at the end of the day we can both go just as fast round the same track if we both went to a sprint day.

You gotta give the dirt rally drivers respect thou. It is afterall the toughest form of motorsport to suceed in. ARC / WRC drivers are something special. It takes guts and big steel balls to cane a $50k+ racecar through tight dirt corners sideways with unforgiving pine trees lining both sides on a course that you may not have even seen. Any cashed up busines exec. can pay someone else to setup a quick circuit car and go round and round in circles and eventually after 500 laps finally put out a good time. The question you gotta ask. Is he a good driver? NO. Put him in a rally car at full speed and see if he can keep up, or even go quick on his first run.
