  1. Hehe - Pitman was telling me about this at Dutton. Hilarious!!
  2. Yeah it's cause they were slack at filming. Didn't see a camera until winton on day 2. I think the budget may have been scaled back a little due to losing Alphera as the naming rights sponsor. There was footage of my car from last year too.
  3. Haha - well said. Sandown can be tough on brakes, but just don't be silly. If you brakes start to feel different (fade away) don't keep pushing. Back off, put your hazzards on and keep off the racing line to let other past. Flush the brake system and fill with Motul RBF, Motul 5.1 or Castrol SRF. If i'm on the money I also only get one hot lap with my brakes. If you back off for a whole lap they should cool and come back to you, as long as your codriver hasn't completly cooked them??? Eh Adz....!!
  4. I'll bring a copy along to the meeting tonight. Actually I've just burnt straight to DVD with adds. But bells has the DVD player behind the bar, so that sucks for fast forwarding thru adds. I wont have time to edit and burn again. Can anyone burn to DVD without adds and bring along tonight?
  5. Can anyone predict if it's going to rain or not? Sandown in the rain is no fun! Unlike Winton in the rain which is 100% fun.
  6. Announcement: Addition of PIARC - R8 - 9th Nov to SAU-Vic Motorsport Championship Announcement Thread - Click Here
  7. I’d like to announce an addition to the SAU-Vic Motorsport Championship. Sunday 9th November – Phillip Island will be added to the championship as the eighth round. The motorsport committee has decided because of the loss of two rounds we would like to make this addition. The championship was originally comprised of seven rounds. But in actual fact, even with the edition of Phillip Island we ultimately will only be competing in six rounds. Morewell – 10th May was cancelled due to the old hill climb track being decommissioned and relocated. Calder – 5th July was cancelled due to becoming financial unviable for the WRX club to run. Calder Park have significantly increased their hire fee’s this year and it was going to end up costing around $350 per entrant to run this event. Which I’m sure we all agree is not worth it. The event on Sunday 9th of November is run by the Phillip Island Auto Racing Club (PIARC) www.piarc.com.au and will be a timed sprint day. PIARC also run an untimed practice day on the Saturday (8th Nov) Many club’s and days were considered, but the PIARC day was chosen as our best option from a club championship perspective because its everyone’s favourite track, everyone will get a spot that wants to come and the price is good usually good at $140. We know the track gets busy at these events but given half the SAU crew are probably going to attend this event regardless it seems like the best option.
  8. Dutton NSW is of interest to me. But I can't see myself doing it this year. I've told myself to stop wasting money on useless motorsport.
  9. Cool. Let me know if he changes his mind.
  10. Thanks guys for all you kind words and congratulations. It means a lot to Min and I. Min got a very special birthday present this year!! Ryder Arran Thomson Born 2nd July 2008 @ 10.03am Weight - 2.55kg (5lb 10oz) Length - 44cm He was 4 weeks early and took us completely by surprise! Min took the Tuesday off work as she was getting slight pains, but didn't think it was happening at all - She just felt uncomfortable. But then Wednesday morning at 5am the waters broke and we were at the hospital by 6 and he was born at 10. Luckily he was just over the weight break (2.5kg) where they get taken to the special care nursery. That meant that he got to stay with us in the room until we were allowed to go home. We ended up having to stay for 5 nights and we were getting a bit over being in the hospital at the end. He did have to spend 24 hours under the UV lights as he had a bit of jaundice. (Yellowing of the skin, because of too much red blood cells and only small liver to break them down) But we are home now and settling in OK. Min still can't believe the cheeky monkey stole her birthday!! Min was supposed to finish work on the 4th and have 4 weeks off to get organised and have everything ready! Because he was early we hadn't decided on a name so he was the 'little man' until he finally got his name on Monday night. Min picked his first name from the book and had liked this name from about a week ago, but it took me a while to be comfortable with it. Once I accepted that we weren't allowed to rename the dog, Linkin, to retread, the baby's name all fell into place . We had already decided on the middle name a long time ago, as this is the Scottish spelling of Aaron (Arran) and is the name of the island off the coast of Ardrossan, Scotland which is where I was born and where my Grandparents still live along with most of dads side of the family. We already have too many pics, as the granparent paparazzi were snapping away constantly. Cheers, Chris, Min & Ryder
  11. Yeah, i'll take it. So it's the block and head minus sump? Nothing else?
  12. So whats the plans for the celebratory drinks, and post race excuses? Trying to decide where to stay and dont want to end up too far away from any possible Shenanigans.
  13. So..... Didn't Golgo (James) create that SAU logo back when SAU-Vic was formed? (Top Left) I know were all friends and stuff, but did anyone run this past him? Gotta give credit where credit is due.
  14. Wow - that took a long time to read. Geez you guys talk a lot of sh1t.
  15. Thanks BB. Pretty much spot on, and exatcly as I understood the problem also. Just to put people's minds at rest SAU will do whatever it needs to do to make sure we can keep a healthy SAU Championship alive. There are lots of options avaliable to us, so there is no reason for concern at this stage. We are considering introducing an extra round now that old Morewell is gone and so is Calder. More on this another time.
  16. Can I get you to eloborate please Matt? What do you mean by this? What concerns do you have about the future of motorsport within SAU?
  17. Already spoke with him. He wants to go up earlier than me I think. I possibly wont be able to head up until 4-5ish Friday. Troy want to be there earlier I think.
  18. Hmm i'm not impressed with this.
  19. Yeah I had an email from Wolf confirming that they will be coming in to have a chat to us. So get your intelligent questions prepared!
  20. I'm considering making the drive for support. Don't like my chances, but i'll let you know if can come up.
  21. HKS copy front pipes sold. Price for Cat back, Including "Super Power Flow CAT" or lack thereof. (Straight Pipe) $200.
  22. Ah so the two video's on You tube aren't the full show then? Or did I just skip through too quickly?
  23. So is episode 2 going to have the RE Customs SAU Dyno Day Renewal stuff in it? Is Ep.2 out yet?
  24. Nah, Wish I could.. Sandown and I still have some unfinished business. But unfortunatly Dutton has sucked me dry and there are no funds avaliable. I was hopeing to get a dry run at Dutton so I could get into the teens (1m1*sec), but it will have to wait.
