  1. NO LONGER REQUIRED. If anyone want's to remove this topic, feel free =)
  2. Hey guys. Im looking to buy that plastic cover that hides the screws and cabling to the mirrors. I need left and right hand side. I have a sedan, not sure if that makes a difference, but I assume it does. I've attached a photo to show what I mean, incase my description isn't that good (which I know it isn't =P) I'm pretty happy to pay $50 each, which im sure is more than they're worth (considering you can get the whole door for something like $195)
  3. Is this only hosted once a year? is it always in January? I'll have to keep my eye on the threads next year then.
  4. Thanks for the info =)
  5. Hey =) I keep hearing people say get your car tuned to unlock its potential, but I'm unsure of what's involved in a tune up, as opposed to a service. What is actually involved in tuning up a non turbo R34? Is it worth doing on a non turbo? I think it might involve ECU mods and tightening bolts maybe? I'm also looking for a good place to get the tune up done, My family has been to ultra tune. To avoid the defamation rules, I won't say anything, but I do not wish to go there. Any help and advice would be appreciated.
  6. When I said burns oil, I mean't you need to top it up weekly. My N/A skyline at the moment has not required a single top up between services, every time i check it, it's still completely full. Whereas my Ford Laser with over 250,000kms on the clock has started to need weekly top ups of about quarter of the dip stick, and that has only started to happen recently and i put it down to something gone wrong as far as wear and tear. Computer management, thanks, i'll keep that in mind, I think i heard something about Apexi being a good replacement, i think Apexi FC was the one i was reading into? a good one for Stage 1 upgrades, as i still want to keep the car an easy driver, but have some fun and still able to kick it a little when some annoying pulsar pulls up at the lights. I intend to get a boost gauge, although im still contemplating where to mount it, I don't want it to be a defect, i believe it can't be above the dash, like i really would like to have it =(
  7. I usually forget to warn anyone, but I do if i remember
  8. Thanks Hanaldo, think of it as part of the exhaust, never even thought about it like that before but i suppose it really is like that. Thanks Bsa, Keep it under 12psi, i'll keep that in mind =) Thanks Skittles, I already run my non turbo on nothing but Caltex Vortex 98 and intend to do the same with the turbo model. I also only use Ryco filters, Penrite HPR semi synthetic oils & Bosch petrol filters. I did drive a friend turbo Starion when I was at the end of my L's before i got my P's and its certainly fun to hit boost, he taught me a bit about using a turbo but nothing about maintenance or anything crucial to the ownership of a turbo car. Thanks (OO)Skyline(OO), Those tips on cool down times will come in handy, I was told that a turbo timer would be overkill unless I plan to take it for track days and continually run it at high boost, but im using it as a road car with some fun time on the side, so I don't think it'll be necessary or required to have it cooling down for extensive periods. So those tips are very helpful.
  9. Hey guys! I've had my non turbo R34 for the last two years and I'm getting off my P plates soon and wanna jump into a turbo R34 25GT. The thing is my whole family is turbo illiterate and there isn't anyone to show me the ropes. I was wondering a few things... Is it true that the turbo R34 will burn oil? I know a good car isn't supposed to burn any oil, but I've heard that turbos will, even of they don't have anything wrong with them, is this correct? What additional requirements are there to get a turbo car serviced? Aside from shorter intervals between services, what is actually being done that is different? Warming up the car, I never run my r34 hard until the engine is completely warmed up, I've heard turbos need to warm up, is the turbo warm when the car is? How much more am I expecting on insurance to my current non turbo? Any other turbo tips or information would be much appreciated, including things to look out for when inspecting one. Thanks =)
  10. Im hoping to make it out there that night, make my first debut with SAU, though I may have been seen by some guys while cruising with Sydney Car Scene or Rexnuts =P I go wherever cars are cruising =D
  11. I beg to differ Vic, I might not get anyone on here selling a car for $1,000 but a decent car for $1,000 does exist and those kind of things pop up a lot. I got my old R31 for $400 and the only problem with it was that it was running on 5 cylinders, fixed that cheaply enough (the total cost was under $1,000). Problem is at the time I was saving up for my R34 and had no chance in hell of keeping them both on the road. But anyway, point of story, u do get decent cars for $1,000 every now and then.
  12. I posted up for advice, not opinions. To each their own, it's something i've come to live by. Besides, aren't all of you just digging urself deeper? You're basing a stereotype of having neons as being gay, when everyone on this forum is trying to combat the stereotype of Skyline drivers being assholes, why enforce stereotypes at all when all of us are trying to build reputation for this club, this kind of talk just enforces the thought that skyline drivers are all assholes.
  13. Thanks for the info guys. Real helpful posting that it's gay, You guys are awesome
  14. hmm... that would bring it to $4000 for the total cost when it's done... That's a little over my budget, great car though, if i had the budget, perhaps i would.
  15. Thanks show it off, I might end up doing the wiring, since there doesn't seem to be any other options =/
  16. First thing, I know you probably read the title and said "time to go tell some noob he's gay!" Please don't, Im 18 and im going through the phase where I like the idea of interior neons, not over the top, but i do like a little illumination. I used to have neons on my old Laser, but they were the ones that use cig lighter adapters, I don't like that idea and I don't wanna ruin my completely factory standard Skyline by hard wiring. Anybody know of any ideas for interior illumination with a battery supply? Like a light with its own battery that I can replace that will just stick somewhere inside the cabin, LED or neon, i don't mind, but I want it to be self sufficient, so there's no running cabling to ruin my skyline's clean look if I decide to take it out. Any help appreciated.
  17. Looking to buy a car that I can learn drift on. Basically, that means, it has to be rear wheel drive & manual with some decent power. Im looking for something up to $1,000 ofcourse, if you have something particularly powerful and perfect drift then I might go over that limit. Thanks
  18. Okay, thanks guys. That Xenon writing is pretty straight forward, would have noticed it
  19. I've got a 2000 Nissan Skyline R34 25GT N/A Sedan and someone asked me if I've got HID's on it and I wasn't sure because apparently some have got them stock and some haven't so i was wondering if anyone could give me an idea? The headlights are original from Nissan and have the following written on them: HCHR-81
  20. Hey, I was just wondering what models of skyline were around in 1979? Im trying to identify one, its got twin round headlights on either side, any ideas?
  21. Man it's a lucky thing this is a turbo, because if it were NA you know it wouldn't survive the P plater that would buy it
  22. After letting one slip through my fingers while searching for one, I kept an eye on the importer that brought it in and after 4 months they had another one come in. Jumped on it straight away and placed a deposit, they are VERY rare to come by.
  23. The name your looking for is rain shield, and good luck finding those, gonna be a bitch
  24. Thanks for supplying the wing Msports
