  1. wow... I gotta go and inspect it just so I can see one... I do live just a suburb away
  2. Thanks two cents, After reading that topic on page 2 its helped me understand things a lot more
  3. Thanks heaps Cancer... I'll keep my 34 at the 36 mark then.
  4. LOL, I actually saw someone selling an R34 on carsales once, using 3D art photos for the ad... Im wondering if its a prank or he really doesn't want to show the real car
  5. The JVC looks nice, Ive heard a lot of people trash them aswell, but all the JVC systems i've heard sound all sweet. Maybe the cheaper JVC units just aren't all that good, but thats to be expected with anything cheap
  6. hey guys, Ive been reading about power bands lately, and its apparently quite important to know your cars when it comes to racing especially in the case of a naturally aspirated car. My question is, how do you know what your power band is? Is it just drive and feel it for yourself or does each car have a power band that any common car owner can tell you? I've also wondered about when racing, is it best to shift out of first at say 4 rpm and then build the revs in the higher gears or is it better to rev it higher in first? I feel like when I rev high in first im not really getting as much power as if I let it rev in second, and I just feeling the wrong thing? I've never actually looked at the speedo while testing all this as im worried about keeping my eyes off the road. Any help is greatly appreciated, one of my friends beat me in his celica the other day and all the stats show that my car should have won if my technique was better, so im trying my best to better understand everything. Thanks
  7. Hey, Im sorry if this sounds like a really stupid question that anyone with a license should know, but I have just never been sure. When your tyres say 55PSI Max press, does that mean it would be best for me to fill it to 55? Or does it mean thats just the max it can handle, but I should be putting in 50? Or am I way off and theres an ideal PSI such as 43 for certain sizes or something like that? I know your tyre pressure has an affect on petrol consumption, but im also told that your tyre pressure can have a HUGE impact on your speed and acceleration, so I was wondering about all this. Thanks for any answers
  8. I agree with everything you said mad except that its more comfortable in a falcon or commodore, I think skylines are pretty comfortable aslong as the driver knows how to use their clutch They are pretty much the falcons and commodores of Japan aren't they? thats what I keep getting told... But cost wise and the fact that you dont wanna add too many KM's to a skyline, does make the falcon or commodore a better choice in your scenario, just wanted to say that it is a comfortable car and im told that by my passengers who are used to being in a lot of different cheaper P plate sports cars
  9. I've been waiting for a dyno day! Since I wanna know just what figures my skyline will come up with... I'll likely turn up to this, but im working till midnight the night before, what are my odds of getting a spot if i turn up around 10 - 11?
  10. IMO, the reason it looks crap next to them is because its so stock standard and todays newer cars try to look like they're modded when they come out of the factory, not to mention you said he did some work to his car. I think your skyline is fine and why should it matter what they think anyway? the skyline is a true classic that will always be appreciated and well known.
  11. I was so interested in finally making an appearance at this event, but i got called in for work and since I work casually if I refuse they can pretty much just boot me out
  12. oh i see... so it offers easier modification while maintaining as much stock parts as possible and it can still withstand all the pressure put on the engine? Im young and still learning, so bare with me haha. Thanks for the information
  13. well, I don't know too much about how expensive toyota parts are, but it would seem reasonable to assume they are a lot cheaper than nissan parts. But are you also saying that the 1jz is easier to cheaply mod for better performance? Because im sure the RB26 has just as many parts out there to give it the same gain for similar prices, as far as aftermarket goes, just guessing though.
  14. In NSW it has to be covered in a box
  15. You'll wanna look into Compliance costs, handling and shipping costs, import tax and a lot more that im not too sure about. It should all come to a price close to the regular retail cost of the car were it an Australian build, but you will be saving if its done right check this site out for more detailed info about importing: http://www.j-spec.com.au/
  16. Its hard to argue that point, good luck with the conversion
  17. Would this be a good idea for me to come and introduce myself to the club? or being a multi-club meet would that just be confusing?
  18. Personally, I feel like you'd be taking out the heart of a skyline... but as far as power goes, it is a nice upgrade
  19. beautiful mate I personally don't like the rear of this model, but you have a beautiful example that makes me like it
