Cleaned out some of the engine bay today. Took hours. Barely scratched the surface and then one of the bloody wiper arm bolts has corroded itself in. Bugger. Still sooo much crap to remove. Before: After:

Oh, forgot the bottom end update; Spool main caps, girdle and studs arrived and have all gone off to Jack Bros. to be line bored.

Head back from CNC. They roughed most of the hard stuff out. Now getting measured, hand-finished, all the usual stuff. Valves, seats and whatnot are all there too now and the cams should have arrived in the shop today. Tyres arrived at my place too.

6boost manifold is finished. So stoked. Should be able to hold whatever boost I want on the startline with this.

This won't be registered. It'll be a dedicated race car. Confirmed today that I'll have a Protrans TH400 based auto in this build. I loved the C4 Fred built for my last car.

Not sure, man. The goal is definitely in the 7s though. Anyone know the best way to move the shocks in?

Car has a GT-R diff/axles/hubs etc. Will concentrate on alignment and shocks to help it leave. 60ft goal is in the 1.2sec range.

Hahaha. This is the first of the Gen-2 8891. It's a little tougher than the old one and about what a 91 used to be. You never know your luck in the big city though. PTE have been pretty good to me. ;-)

Yep. 26 is a known quantity with heaps of support. If the Neo was better by the same amount as say an SR20DET vs. SR20VET it might be a different story. It's not.

It's a 26 head, mate. To be honest it'll be hogged out that far on the CNC and the bench the casting is the limitation. I doubt one would be better than the other from this perspective.

What is the best looking factory colour combo?

Picture one of these but flipped the other way to suit the RB, a 100mm throttle body and a collection of Plazmaclamps to suit. Any thoughts on how it should be finished? Polished, raw, black, other? Stoked to have plazmaman.com involved in another RB engine build.

Guides were pushed at Pro Built Engine Reconditioning today and head sent off to be CNC ported.

Hahaha. Getting there, mate. Crank and valvetrain bits being sent off to Pro Built Engines in QLD today.

I wouldn't put anything past them, mate. Some of their custom work is incredible.
