  1. PM sent. Would you take $37 for both oil filters delivered to sydney?
  2. Hey Terry, Yep that pic keeps flicking up on my digi photo frame at work, love it! I do think of leaving it as is but one of my biggest concerns is that one day the turbos will just let go and ruin the engine. Even the motor will let go one day I am sure as these things are getting pretty old now . It will all be just bolt on stuff though so can be returned back to standard if ever required. I still have all original parts stored around the place except standard shocks and springs. However I love tastefully modded street cars and since I am pretty set on owning the car for life I may bolt on some things making it that little bit more exciting.
  3. The classic throttle shop in North Sydney recently sold a ADM Burgundy R32 GTR in the low $60's. It looked great in the pics and had 78,000km on it.
  4. I am pretty sure the HPI dumps are quality items. I was trying to bid for some on yahoo auctions but they just got to expensive. You get get some tomei ones these days for around $700-$800. I ended buying some 2nd hand ces race pipes. They are a split pipe design but they are similar to the trust front pipe system, not just short dumps. Anyway let us know how you go with the -5's. I have a pair of these also waiting to go on.
  5. Is this a job that can be approached from the top of engine or is it just too hard to get to manifold bolts underneath? I am wanting to change turbos on my GTR but am not game to tackle a job this big. Am I over reacting, keeping in mind doing dimple oil changes etc is my comfort zone.
  6. I had someone do my manifold flanges and the used the gasket as a templete to check. Turns out the manifold flange opening is now slightly bigger than the turbine flange opening. I can check the measurements in the next couple of days as all this stuff is lying around not on the car yet.
  7. Thanks for clearing that up. Do not have hand controller so will n ow look at getting one.
  8. Anyone tried to use an ECUTALK consult cable with a power fc? Given it is meant to have all the features of the standard ecu I am assuming it has the neccesary ports to plug into.
  9. I'm with you on this Mike. If you are happy to do the labour and if its only going to cost around $600 why not. At the end of the day you will have steel wheels, which will run more than 1 bar boost and make good power. As for lag you might only be slighty behind say a pair of HKS GTSS turbos given you are using smaller exhaust housings, but will probably still be able to see good power. I have had my GTR for 7 years with stock turbos and their obviously considered laggy but its still fun to drive. Make sure you post up results.
  10. Does it do the same as ceramic coatings? Heat disbursement / resistance. Thats an added bonus with the step 2 kit then!
  11. The piston skirts look ceramic coated. Is that included from HKS or did the previous owner have it done? What I would give to do what your doing
  12. I saw this kit a while ago but what put me off was that you need to have the assembly balanced so more than just a bit of DIY is involved. There is someone on the who is selling rebuilt stell wheel turbos for about $1250 exchange which also seemed reasonable. I ended up buying some new Garretts but those guys on ebay had some good feedback. Let us know how it all goes. Would be very interested to find out results.
  13. No doubt about that one. One of my favourites!
  14. I think I saw this on VHS some years ago. I recently found him driving a r32 (old best motoring) on ISO HUNT.
  15. Oh ok, I thought real deal as it was being referred to as 400R in a couple of magazines. Nice car either way. I really need to go down next year as a spectator!
  16. Just saw a pic of that 400r after its hit in Unique cars. Does anyone know if its a write or just a massive repair job. When I saw a shot of it before targa started I thought wow cool, hang on aren't they really rare and its going in targa tas! Anyway looked like a great car, hopefully a fixer!
  17. Would you take $120 for the dumps posted to sydney. I am pretty sure they are stock r34 gtr dump pipes. (Sorry I already posted on your other thread)
  18. There is a thread here that compares -7 v -5 v -9. In summary if its response your after go for the -9. Pretty much same response as -7 just capable of more power. These actually are GTSS turbos sold directly by Garrett (without HKS branding). They are a few hundred more as you have to buy actuators seperatley.
  19. YES YES YES! & R100'S, 1st Gen RX7's, Nissan Z's, old skylines (inlcuding Prince skylines) and honda s800 coupes! How can anyone have 1 favourite!
  20. Thats one of the funniest things I have seen! One of my favourite lines; This guy really should work for an advertising company.
  21. I have a brand new set of these, which I did not end up using. If your interested I will send them to Melbourne for $80. 0411 415 644
  22. I thought if its not too much different 500 - 1000rpm I would just stick with a new pair of -5's I have. Given it sounds like there is going to be a fair bit of difference I am looking at using -9's. Mind you this car barely see's the road so doesn't need to be driven daily or anything but it is running standard engine internals with 135,000km under its belt.
  23. Thought as much. If they were no laggier I would think of using them. I thought the benefit of ball bearing would offset the bigger turbo response issue.
  24. Quick question Would 2560-5 on a stock r32 engine be laggier than the standard plain bearing standard turbos. I already have power fc, 550cc injectors and exhaust and EBC. Will be upgrading dump pipes as well as Cam gears. Would this setup produce more lag than a standard R32 GTR?
  25. Don't sell your car, unless you need the money or another car. My wife and I bought our first place 6 years ago So my car budget became non existant and given it was a luxury it just covered it left it in the garage for 2 years. Things got better regoed spent some more on it loved it again, then just over 1.5 years ago, our daughter was born. Well low and behold I my lost my car budget again:) However recently I have been buying a bunch of stuff turbos etc and hoprfully be back in business by the end of this year. Sorry for the rambling, but point of the story you still feel great owning it, knowing its there and one day you'll have it going again as you intended. I nearly sold my car during in the early days but am so glad I didn't, 7 years later I still have it:) Also you would take a big financial hit selling it anyway so would it really be worth selling it. P.S. Take up Pauls offer he has a great reputation on SAU, and chances are you be able to use most of your existing parts anyway wouldn't you?
