  1. I bought some of these some months ago, however waiting to install them with turbos. Some of the fittings don't look all crash hot so if I use them I will ask for someone to supply speedflow fittings (which will defineatley bump up the price of this exercise). I only did it because at the time I thought this would be better in the long run, as I have heard some people crimping lines during installation and not realising it till turbo blows etc.
  2. I have a 32 and I bought a pair of -5's but before I install I am going to swap them for a pair of -9's. I think standard engines just can't see the big power that -5 are capable of. As such go for the slightly more responsive turbo, which will give power without stretching a standard motor. Along with this I have the following - CES Race pipes (already have 3.5" cat back) - Larger 4" cat - Cam Gears - Power FC and 550cc injectors, Blitz EBC (installed in car for some time now) - Will get nismo or tomei fuel pump - A bit of ceramic coating turbine housings and manifolds Will hopefully see at least 300rwkw at around 1.3bar.
  3. I was trying to locate a pair of R34GTR dumpies for my -5's but had no luck. Was about to go the Tomei route then got lucky and bought the CES race pipe system second hand for less than the price of tomei's! (and it was already ceramic coating)! But for cost effective and good enough response R34GTR dumps are meant to be good and very cheap to buy (but they sell very quickly:)
  4. Are you talking about the low mount 2530's that fit on the standard manifolds or do you mean 28/30?
  5. Try Best Mufflers. I just bought some 3 bolt flanges and gaskets, great service. Best Mufflers
  6. There was a group buy on here a couple of years ago for a whiteline/bilstien setup. i had this installed in my car but I can't say what it is like on a track as I haven't tried it out. But as for twisty stuff on roads its great and not uncomfortable at all. If you do a search I am sure the tech info is still available. The G/B was organised by a user by the name of sydneykid.
  7. Hey Terry, Doing well mate, yourself? Yeah that was nearly two years ago now and was the last time I really used the car. Currently buying stuff for turbo upgrade so should be back on road in the next few months (saving up for labour and tuning bill Has your son still got his 33? SOMEONE POST UP DIFFERENCES BETWEEN VS1 AND VS2
  8. We have highway patrol to chase criminals. The guy must have been driving outside the rules o be chased in the first place, so I'm tipping who was going to keep driving like that chase or no chase. What do you think will happen if criminals think all chases will be called off if they just put everyone in danger?? No doubt this accident shouldn't have happended but you can't blame the police for risking their own lives to do their job. P.S Retrospective veiws are not available during a situation. Funny that. I am not a cop.
  9. Well the VSPEC1 is the more desireable of the two isn't it? Looks great, love the plate! This is a crazy thought I know, but wouldn't this car now be quite desireable in Japan? I have no idea how you could go about selling a car there, maybe something worth looking into, maybe not. G/L great car!!
  10. Will do when I need a set. Thanks for the tip!
  11. Thats 1 in 10 chance of winning a chopper ride. I like those odds! If my car was on the road it woul be there!
  12. The lease will need to be reassigned to the new purchaser. The purchaser should keep in mind that they will have to go through the finance approval process to have the lease reassigned.
  13. $170 seems pretty cheap. Was it a 5" body? I clicked the link but the classified forum had been removed on 01/03/2010 so I couldn't see anything.
  14. I was recently quoted $340 for a naked (unflanged) 5" body ballistic CAT. I am going to mate these to 3.5" flanges Refer to below link for flow results (having trouble inserting as hyperlink) www.surefloexhaust.com.au/cc.htm
  15. I understand. PM me if you change your mind.
  16. $350 you can keep the seat rail and I'll pick up?
  17. $120 for the timing belt delivered to sydney?
  18. I have had an aussie delivered GTR for 7 years now. It only has 134,000km but I have been modding it as things wear out. So far suspension brakes, computer, boost controller, injectors and exhaust. They do need wider wheels so changed those as well. Have all original parts except injectors. About to replace turbos as I don't want the ceramic ones to crap themselves one day (which is bound to happen given it is a 19 yo car). Whilst non modded aussie delivered GTR's are probably prefferred, it would be hard to maintain with factory turbos, suspension etc. P.S. Your burgundy one looks nice!
  19. Never really understood why you would choose thermo's. All that extra wiring, relays installation sounds like a big pain in the bum. Especially if you get 0 or marginal improvement.
  20. Whats a Vi-Pec worth? Would also have to plug in a Map Sensor? No real disadvantages with getting rid of AFM's?
  21. Theres and interesting point I hadn't heard of. Decision is made if they max out, replace with nismo items.
  22. Thanks Nick. The article quoted the following food for thought; I will just leave them as they are then and see how it goes.
  23. Hi All, I am going to install some garrett turbos on my gtr and will be looking for around 300-330 rwkw and am trying to avoid the cost of buying Nismo AFM's. I read an old article that Tillbrook Automotive in SA (I think) removed the screens standard AFM's, which allowed a bit more resolution with tuning. Does anyone else agree with this method for what I am chasing or should I be buying Nismo AFM's?
