  1. Yep the pre-oiling is a good feature. Easier with solenoid though, as if you don't have the solenoid you have to pop the bonnet and open the ball valve before you start (and close the valve before you switch off so you have a shot for the next start. Thanks URAS, some pics would be great.
  2. Yeah just t piece into the remote filter lines. Looks simple enough!
  3. Just looking for feedback on Moroso Oil Acculator's and if anyone has used one. I don't particulary want to remove my sump atm to put baffles in to combat oil surge. I have have seen these though, any thoughts? Moroso Oil Accumulator
  4. I just purchased a set for my R32 GTR with stock internals. Where do your turbos start to come on? Did you use stock r34 gtr dump pipes?
  5. Yeah they may be a bit too big initially but I wouldn't mind rebuilding the engine in a year or so. The car doesn't even see 2000km a year so they should still be in good condition when I do decide have the engine rebuilt, so I figured to just buy them now. So the R33 GTR and R34 GTR dump pipes are the same size? And are good for decent power?
  6. 2860-5's. Will use standard manifolds with flanges ported. Car already runs power FC, 550cc injectors and blitz boost controller. Turbo's upgrade will include fitment of decent fuel pump & adjustable cam gears (still debating whether or not to install poncams). If I don't find R34 GTR dumps then I will buy the tomei ones. I really like the CES race pipes but I was quoted around $1600 (not including ceramic coating). Being a standard R32 engine I only want to run around 1.2 bar and would like around 300rwkw for now. Motor is pretty healthy and has low k's for age (136,000).
  7. Ahhh now just to be fortunante enough to find a pair!
  8. Are the standard 34 dump pipes mild steel or stainless steel? I have heard conflicting opinions.
  9. +1 Who can not love old Z's.
  10. Hi Huli, Do you have a pic of the standard dump pipes? Are these the same as R34 GTR dumps just in cast iron and not stainless steel?
  11. Net gear makes a decent looking 2 bay for around $335, which has an UPNP server and Bit Torrent server. I am looking to upgrade to this. Don't by Lacie. I currently have a network harddrive with built in server and the server stuffed up some how. They replaced it with a brand new unit last week. 2 out of my 3 lacie products have been replaced without question.
  12. I was under the impression if you have bigger injectors and fuel pump, don't worry about an adjustable fuel pressure regulator on a turbo car. Anyone agree?
  13. Let us know how you go. I am still a few months from having my turbos installed, but will hopefully have a chat to my mechanic before too long.
  14. Hey Dennis, My mate has an SSV ute with similar mods to your commodore and also a slightly lower diff ratio than standard (his put out around 330rwkw). My GTR currently puts out 250rwkw with more boost, computer, exhaust and injectors and would struggle to keep up in a straight line with the ute (especially if he gets traction). The ute is a very fun car to take a ride to say the least! Have fun with the GTR, I think it is safe to say when you do upgrade turbos etc it just may blow the door handles off the commodore
  15. Hey Terry, Is that the same hills motorsports that used to be in the same complex as Unique autosports old location?
  16. Hey Ali, No didn't get anything further on this, however I purchased the same kit, looked at some others and spoke to a couple of people and it looks like the smaller banjo acts a restrictor. But I was thinking to use the same banjo and put a restrictor from, which I think are about $15 each. These screw to the cartridge and then the lines in the kit should be able to screw to the restrictor (this is from the pics I have seen). Either way I wouldn't just rely on the restrictor built into the turbo cartridge. It might be an idea to put an additional one on. The turbo will still be fed sufficient oil.
  17. Far out I just read this thread think oh I am doing a similar turbo setup (2860-5's).Then didn't your plans change along the way! Well done its a great deal of work you've put into it. I once went for a ride in a 32gtr with a to4z, it was a lot of fun! It was a lot more responsive than what I thought it would be as well (can't remember the exact specs though).
  18. Does the Samco kit replace the pipes between the turbos and the AFM's?
  19. thanks guys. So they are the same, thats good to know. Yeah the last thing I want is to have to remove manifolds to fix a crack etc. And since most people talk highly of thw standard manifolds with the ported flange, it seems like a logical choice.!
  20. I am using the standard manifolds but just going to match port the turbo flange on the manifolds. I have a spare set and they look similar but just wanted to make sure if it does / does not matter, whichg oes on the front or rear of the engine.
  21. Are standard gtr exhaust manifold or does the rear one differ from the front? Also is the exhaust manifold design different between 32, 33 & 34 gtr's?
  22. Souonds like cams are the way to go. Out of interest have you discussed cams with your tuner lololoc?
  23. I am about to get some 2860-5's and was going to use adjustable Cam Gears. However I am also being strongly advised to by some Tomei Type B Poncams as well. Are the response gains from the camshafts worth the outlay?
  24. Sorry I meant matching the manifold flange to the turbo flange. I had a shop quote me about $60 per manifold which seemed reasonable.
