  1. Thanks TriniGT, Someone in the above post said; So it sounds like the banjo that came with the kit is a restricor. So this is what should be used for upgraded ball bearing turbos instead of the standard 6mm banjo bolts?
  2. Do Ball bearing turbo require less oil, therefore smaller banjos should be used as oil restrictors? I am about to upgrade to ball bearing turbos and am looking at the same oil and water line kits, but just wondering if people have used the smaller banjos. I have read that if you use the original larger ones it could cause the turbo to leak oil. Any opinions?
  3. Thanks Doo Doo. They sound like the have a good result. I will defineately consider them. I will be using something with 2860-5's and from the sounds of it the race pipes and cam gears should dial out a lot of lag and increase response.
  4. Have you used these Doo Doo. I rang up up about them, they sound great but pricey. From the impression I got regular aftermarket dumps could increase boost response on upgraded twins by about 300-500rpm, but these race pipes could increase boost response by 800rpm or more. Anyone have any experience with these?
  5. Yeah mine use to always idle at 1200 but the last few times I have driven it, it has been playing up. Another theory I was told was that the inlet manifold gskets could be leaking, which can also make it run a bit more rich. Trial and error I guess.
  6. Did you manage to sought out the idle issue. I have a similar problem run rich and idles fluctuates between 1-2k. Power fc and boost controller was fitted for a few years befor this started but I am suspecting vacum issue as well. Is that what yours turned out to be?
  7. Thanks Nismoid, I have heard and seen that cam gears are bang for buck and make turbos more responsive.
  8. Sorry to dig up an old thread, but are there any SAU'ers in Sydney who would be willing to port my manifold flanges for a fee? How many hours work in involved in something like this?
  9. Great Thread. I am about to do similar phase 1 mods with 2860-5's. Just wanted to know anyones thoughts about upgrading CAMs or should I just worry about upgrading CAM gears at this point. Just trying to minimise any potential lag. Can I also ask how many hours you spent porting the turbo flange on the manifolds. I am wanting this done but don't have the skills or the tools to do this myself so will look to giving it to someone to do.

  11. Thanks Guys, So if I just unbolt it it should slide off? Are the any retaining clips, seals etc to worry about on the exhaust side?
  12. I am buying a pair of new turbos and what to give the exhaust housings to a shop for ceramic coating. Are these hard to remove and reassemble without chipping the blades. Or is it a bit delicate and should I have someone take them off?
  13. If you have the exhaust housings and manifolds coated, would it be safe to remove the heat shields?

  15. Hi there, Would all standard piping etc be able to be retained when using these manifolds? Or does it take up more room therefore requireing a hard piping kit for intake to the turbos?
  16. I am looking to get sime new turbos for my GTR (Garrett 2860R-5 or 2860r-7). I am after 300awkw. Anyone know the big difference between these turbos? Which one would be best suited? Will 550cc (already installed in car) be sufficient to deliver enough fuel for the power I'm after? Any ideas what boost level I would need on these turbos for that power Thanks for any help.

  19. Hi everyone, As topic states Is it worth putting R34 GTR turbos on R32 GTR? I know they are steel wheel , ball bearing turbos so thats a plus. You could also run a bit more boost than 1 bar as well right? Anyone done this before?

  21. Hi everyone, I am after some new cam gears and saw the just jap are a lot cheaper than jap brands. Does anyone know if quality is just as good as the imported brands or if anyone has not so good experiences with them. Thanks.
  22. Has anyone experienced problems with the OS Giken CAM gears. I am after a set and saw them quite cheap on greenline motorsports. I know they are a great brand but just thought I would check as they seem to be half the price of the HKS ones.
  23. brand new autobahn88 r32 gtr stainless dump pipes extensivly ported in the wastegate pipe to improve the performance of these $220 the pair in the box with gaskets n stuff Are the above dump pipes now $100? If so I'll take them + postage to sydeny. PM Me.
  24. Hi There, I have an old set of volk/rays wheels, which have the centre cap and a 70mm centre nut. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement spanner or substitute tool to take the nut off? Thanks for any help.
