Aussie Delivered R32 Gtr's
gtr fan replied to BoyWhoCriedWolf's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Sorry to hear about your car Alex. I would tend not to approach the shop. All you can do is claim on your insurance. And if you weren't insured then go for the business insurance. Making accusations probably won't get you anywhere and chances are they probably had nothing to do with it. My brother had his car stolen out of a workshop 10-12 years ago. His insurance paid out the car but not all the parts in the boot to be fitted. He ended up getting a court judgement in his favour that the workshop had to cover the parts, but they ended up closing down and the principal left the country (I think he owed a fair bit of money to various parties). The business insurance wouldn't cover it as the theives got access to the keys. -

Yeah the number on the firewall is there. With that and the number on the engine block I was able to verify it was the same car mentioned in the letter. Nothing noticeable in those photos. My car is black and always has been. Did packer buy a black one? Hi Bob, Never suspected it was owned by Packer / related entity. The letter is dated November 2002 and at the time Tony was General Manager, National Service Division. Yeah I have been tempted to find out more about the car as I have a friend, whose brother works at Nissan Australia and have been tempted to get him to ask Tony or at least get contact details. But then I think this happened over 9 years ago so will he remember. I'll try an upload a copy of the letter tomorrow, for you guys out of interest. I have one of those radios in my cuppboard. Used to randomly change stations when it was in the car. The only mod it had when I bought it was a Kevin Bartlett chip in the ECU. It was always maintained by Eagle Automotive at Asquith. I was able to verify the numbers on the car, then the service history by receipts from Eagle. But like I said it has no tags plates anymore. But this never effected it getting Pink and Blue slips or rego when needed. Just always kept a copy of the letter in the car. -

This might be my car. It was the story I was told when I enquired about it. I have a tow truck receipt somehwere, which I found in the glovebox, which I am sure is dated aorund this period. At the time of theft it was owned by someone around Westleigh / Hornsby. I bought it from unique in August 2003 so timeline fits. I am the third owner of my car. The main problem was for whatever reason my car had its compliance plate and ID tags removed (supposedly by the theives)......I'm still trying to figure out why. The main reason I was still convinced it was an original ADM car was it does have all ADM parts / features and it came with an original letter of authenticity from Nissan Australia verifying its engine & chassis numbers matched that of car xxx, whcih was an ADM vehicle. The letter was signed by Tony Carraturo, who as at August last year was Executive General Manager Nissan Aftersales Division & Casting Plant. No one was buying the car so after it being there for about 4 months the priced reduced by about 25% and they gave me a good deal for my trade in (which was also purchased through Unique 3 years earlier). -

Are you f'n kidding. Your freind thought it was acceptable for someone else to take your car's parts?? Ask him who he gave them to! I never drove mine much. In the first 5 years it only did 26,000km. In the last 3 it has just been stored in my garage with a couple of drives around the block each year. -

I agree with you Marko on tasteful bolt on mods. I personally love putting on period mod parts depending on the era of the car. But as stuff on the GTR wears out I replace it with bolt on aftermarket stuff i.e suspension, brakes, injectors, ecu turbos etc. Maybe a collector would not like this attitude, but me personally I love period correct mods. Like Marko I am not a fan of things that can't be undone such cut outs in doors, dash etc. -

I can't even tell the difference between mounting styles. I think they are off a NASCAR. There seems to be lots of used brake setups for sale from NASCAR etc. Glad I asked here! -

Can anyone identify these AP calipers? I am looking to use on the rear of R32 GTR but the seller can't provide any further details (part number etc). Just the following; AP racing brake caliper Mounting holes spacing center to center hole 3 1/2" Piston diameter 1 7/8" and 1 3/4" Anyone know if they would be suitable when used with 6 pistons on the front?
