  1. Which ones did you go to so people know not to suggest them.
  2. Ruben, that's f**king retarded. The guy has asked for some help. Telling him to move to Australia isn't helpful. OP, if I could help, I would, but I'm in the wrong state.
  3. Volk RE30 price list from Rays Australia. http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/2009/products/wheel_en.php?code=VOLK_RE30&size=17&for=domestic These are $800 each brand new. I imagine cheaper if you bought 4 at a time. Just an FYI for anyone thinking about paying $100 more for the second hand ones advertised in this thread.
  4. Hey Mark, Who'd you end up getting finance through?
  5. Offset and location would be grand.
  6. Hurstbridge Smash Repairers. Again, they often have a resto project going at and are happy to do rust. Might be a bit out of your way, however. I'd go check out Ashwood Panels (Cnr of Highbury Road and Ireland Street, Burwood)
  7. I'm sure it's good to drive but to go from a '90s GTI Swift to GTS HSV in 1500rpm would make for an interesting time on the road. 450nm in 1500rpm, too! I imagine traction is a premium when the foot is to the floor. I'd love to see some footage of it on the road or track
  8. Holy shit, that GTT is going to be handful on the road! What a crazy result. It puts on about 250kw in around 1500rpm (3500rpm-5000rpm)....wow.... Me rikee Also, is that loop a pedal or wheelspin?
  9. f**k driving. Public transport all the way.
  10. Not a car, just a 6x4 with some camping gear thus far and a 6x4 with about 700kgs of sand in it. Did it easy. I won't be towing a car any time soon but I am looking at buying a 8x5 dual axle tipper which should carry a couple of tonnes, so that'll give the Stag a workout.
  11. Lol, just realised that's the second time I've asked if you still have the brakes.... Just goes to show how friggin' long it's taken me to make up my mind what to do!!
  12. Ashwood Panels. I used to work next door. They were often working on some pretty special cars which is what caught my attention. I had a chat to them re: rust removal in my Datto 180b a few years back. They said they were happy to do that kind of work. A lot of panel shops won't. All they want are the big margin insurance jobs.
  13. I don't say this to encourage the OP, but you don't know what you are talking about. If you hit someone while driving a car you shouldn't have been, you'll get the exact same penalty as if you were driving the Excel plus one for driving a car you shouldn't have been. The initial charge won't be upgraded because you were driving something you shouldn't have. That's fact. To the OP, I concur with the general consensus. Wait till you're off you P's then buy a 1000hp R32 GTR and go spastic.
  14. Good to hear. That makes three that I know of who bought one from Des, which I think is the point which made it worth while to actually make the jig.
  15. Thanks guys. Any specs on the clamping force, etc. A part number would be great, if you can give me one. Then I can compare it to other options. Cheers.
  16. Clutch pull or push? Got a part number? Cheers.
  17. Still got clutch? If so, can you please give me the part number? I'm fairly certain it'll fit my Stag, but want to make sure. Cheers.
  18. My stag loves united 100 which is 98 with 10% ethanol. I actually get around 10% better mileage than 98 with it. Car feels a touch happier on it, too. I don't add any fuel in and never see knock (running a PFC)
  19. Whereabouts in Sydney are you? I can give you the name of a GOOD p&e broker near you. The worst they can do is not be able to get a better rate than 6%.
  20. On E85? 600s will be hard up against it. From what I've read here you need 20-30% more flow when running E85.
  21. Well, to provide some contrast, I didn't have the cash to maintain a decent car while I was at uni, so I spend most of it on Hungry Jacks and Passion Pop. I had a fvcking blast doing it, too. Now I'm in my mid 30s I have my family and the resources to look after them but also to buy some toys such as my Stag and my CBR1000. I also have the means to look after them all properly. As I get older and my bones start to creak and I find my "free" time split between work and family, I am realising just how true the old adage of "youth is wasted on the young" rings true. I'd love to bounce like I used to now I have the money to drink from the top shelf. Don't focus your time, money and energy on cars when you're at uni. You can do that later on when you have a shed and the money to do so. Once a wife and/or family comes along, you can kiss goodbye the uni-esque life forever so in the mean time enjoy it while you can. Oh, and BigWillieStyles, I don't think we're talking about someone in their mid-20s here. I think you'll find it's late teens ie. 18-19. There's a big difference between the life you live at 19 and the life you live at 26. By 26 you've been out of uni for ~5 years and are well established in your career and probably have some money to burn. At 19 you're probably bare-assed broke and wondering if you should spend this weeks pay on rent and food or a big night out at *insert name of club here*. You probably go with the latter, too.
  22. From what I understand 250rwkw from a GTRS is a healthy result - the OP cant expect much more. He might gain 20 odd kw with ethanol, but that's a $1000+ investment for a relatively small gain. Bang for buck I doubt he can do better than a bigger turbo at this stage (which is $2k+ but would net much bigger gains and provide much bigger overheads if he does go E85 or WMI later). If he's hell bent on keeping the GTRS, then perhaps WMI might be an option instead of E85, as he's identified a concern regarding E85 supply. I was merely giving a couple of options. I don't see why you're so confused.
