  1. That's what I reckon, too. Kinect and Xbox Live pwns anything Sony has and Xbox being the central hub of my house is going to be totally tits.
  2. I'll ask. I too am not too fussed, but can understand why some are. If it's not too much I will be willing to chip in for it.
  3. So we have five in total: Cowboy Down_shift infiltrator hardman Steve.b Any others? Bueller, Bueller That's enough to get this underway. I will get in touch with Locsed and start organising things. Anyone else who wants in will simply be able to call and arrange a bar themselves as the jig will already be made.
  4. It's all inclusive. You could tow a trailer home from the workshop if required.
  5. We'll aim for over July/August. It'll depend on final numbers and his workload.
  6. Yep, includes tongue and ball.
  7. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NASHIN-345mm-FRONT-BRAKE-ROTOR-DISC-UPGRADE-KIT-SKYLINE-/360680216400 Interedasting. Diameter = win for braking performance. Would stock Stag calipers struggle with the task at hand?
  8. GROUP BUY TIME! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/427258-eoi-c34-towbars-in-melb/ Please respond in the GB thread if you are interested.
  9. There are a lot of C34 owners looking for towbars so I figured a group buy might be somewhat useful. This is an EOI at this stage. I've spoke to Locsed in Ringwood and there is a good saving in it if we were to get a few made up in one hit. The process would be that I will donate my car to him for a couple of days from which he will make a jig. From there he can bang out towbars as required. However to do this he needs to know there will be a few more bought to make the effort of making the jig worthwhile so we need a few more. I won't be getting a deal on mine beyond what he's able to offer everyone else so there's nothing in it for me to be the first one up and essentially the one he will base the jig off. To get a one off made Des at Locsed quoted me $770 to do one for my C34. If we can get 5 people together (including me) he said he'll be able to do them for $550 as a ballpark (possibly cheaper if anything) so that's a hefty saving. Des will be fitting the towbars so be prepared to leave your car with him in Ringwood for the day. Personally I'll be driving mine over in the morning, leaving it there at 8am and hopping a train to the city to work and then back out the following day to pick it up. It may be that he wants a number of cars on a particular day so he can do them side by side so be prepared to have your car to him on a specified weekday. What I know about the product is limited. A couple of forumers have had him make them a towbar and the feedback thus far has been positive (if any of them are reading this and wish to chime in, that'd be grand). I believe rating is in the vicinity of 2000kgs, but bank on 1500kgs. If that is not sufficient for you needs then you're driving the wrong car These won't be "plated". It's on your shoulders as to whether or not that is acceptable to you. Payment would be directly to Locsed, not through me. However I may agree to take a non-refundable deposit on their behalf to ensure that people who say they are in are indeed in. The deposit will be given, in full, to Locsed so if you don't go ahead then they get to keep it as a bonus for their work. Emphasis on non-refundable as there are costs for Locsed in doing this so it's wrong to potentially leave them high and dry because people pull out. I will give people until June 30 to let me know if they are willing to join in. Once June 30 hits, I will contact Des with a final number and nail down the logistics. To reiterate, you may be required to have your car in his workshop in Ringwood on a specified date. If your average day does not allow that kind of flexibility then please think twice about this. Then again, this may not be the case. I will work out these details once/if the GB is confirmed as a goer. So in short: $550ish (price TBC) for a towbar unofficially rated at 1500+kgs for a C34. Need to be able to leave your car in Ringwood for a day - possibly on a specific date not to your choosing. Product not well known but a few people here have them and seem positive about what they bought. Some feedback on Locsed can be found here - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/395463-towbar-in-melbourne/page-3 One thing I still need to clarify is any differences between manual and auto bodies. I don't believe there are any differences at the back apart from the rear cradle which should have no bearing on fitting. One final thing is some cutting and drilling is necessary to fit a towbar. You're rear bumper will likely need a square cut out as part of the fitting process. Des will do this and again does a good job from all accounts. Holes will need to be drilled in your boot floor and some plating added for strength. If you do not wish to trust this type of work to Locsed, then this GB is not for you. I think that's all that is required and I can tell at the moment. If I have missed any vital details, please let me know. Also, there's nothing in this for me beyond getting a price as good as everyone else (~$550). I'm not getting a kickback of any type for this GB.
  10. You want a 30 bottom end, you do. The extra capacity will be well worth it in a 2 ton plus rig.
  11. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/20mm-wheel-spacers-5x114-5-/230996144706?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35c8717242&_uhb=1 5x114.3 20mm bolt on spacers. The fit and legalities of using them is the buyers responsibility. $100 includes express postage to anywhere in Australia. Can pickup from Hurstbridge if you need them ASAP.
  12. It's a pretty shit job. He didn't even take the time to mask up the rubber around the tail light before spraying the primer. Also you can see how shit the actual bog job was in the same pic.
  13. Get yourself an angle grinder with a brush attachment, some stop rust, couple kilos of bog, primer and paint and have a go at it yourself. Just don't cut out any metal and you can't really make it any worse. It would all have to be removed if you get it done professionally anyway. Otherwise, where are you? People might be able to tell you who to go to in your local area.
  14. Whereabouts are you? I have a deflector on my S2 so I'd be happy to let you have a look if you're not too far away.
  15. White Dayz C34 on Greensborough Highway the other night. Very clean. I gave a toot as I split past you on a red/white R1.
  16. Would you be interested in stock R34GTT wheels (17s) with totally f**ked rubber plus some cash?
  17. That's where you're wrong, the money CANNOT be used elsewhere. It's being loaned to the government under particular circumstances because it's being used for the NBN. It's like going to the bank and asking them for a loan for a house and then using the money they give you for a round the world holiday. $40B over 10 years IS a drop in the ocean in relative terms, ie. when you have a GDP of nearly $1,500B per year and a budget of around $400B per year. The ALP NBN is incredibly affordable and by far and away the best option. The current infrastructure underpinning Australian communications is f**ked. It needs to be replaced, so do it once, do it right and do it with fiber. And now we know the Liaberals are going to spend $25B giving us FTTN, we should really be comparing the savings from FTTN to FTTH. The difference is $15B cause at least $25B will be spent, regardless of who rolls it out. $15B to upgrade from FTTN to FTTH is an absolute no brainer. Do it once, do it right.
  18. Saw a white S1 C34 in Eltham today. He gave me a toot and I gave him a thumbs up. I was in the yellow S2 C34.
  19. Also they are $49 at Mwave.
  20. Probably not (assuming the prices are all each). Mine are 200Mb on an ADSL2 connection which syncs at ~20Mb. I stream to my Xbox perfectly although don't care for "ZOMGLOOKHOWMANYPIXELSINSUPERHD1080P+" kind of shit. As long as I can see the picture an it looks ok, I'm happy. I play games with stuff all lag. If you envisage requiring more than 200Mb then maybe.
  21. http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/pa211-link-pa211-av200-mini-multi-streaming-powerline-adapter-p-60361.html?sort=2a I've got those plugged in all over the place. They work brilliantly. I've got them in powerboards plugged into double adapters on a remote switch and all the shit you're not meant to do but they still work perfectly. Easier, more reliable and possibly cheaper that a wireless extender.
  22. Yeah, that thing's got some nasty rust. Stay away.
  23. Of course it will go over budget and over time. Only a moron would think otherwise. No private or public endevour of such size has ever been done on budget and time. But $60B is just plucked out of Neil Mitchell's ass. Total Government borrowing is currently predicted at a smidge over $30B. If that hits $35B or even close to $40B, I won't be surprised, nor concerned. Hell, even if it hit the "out of think air" $60B I wouldn't be concerned. The copper network is rooted and expensive to maintain. A fiber network will save many billions over time on this alone. On top of that it's a publicly owned piece of infrastructure which will provide returns to the government instead of Telstra. As for value for money, the figures are already done. The NBN will be cheaper for the vast majority of Australians. What people continually forget is you'll no longer pay 430 just to have copper running to your house. So straight away you save $30. On top of that calls are much cheaper and on top of that the actual cost for internet is the same and in some cases cheaper than what's available. Oh, and you'll be connecting whether you like it or not. The government has an agreement with Telstra that you'll be on the NBN 18 months after fiber is available. Compare TPG "Unlimited" plan with phone at $80/month to iiNet 100/100 @25/5 for $65/month + call costs (most of which are free/very cheap) and the NBN plan is and absolute winner. No contention, no congestion, no losing f**king internet just cause it's raining, none of that shit. Just fast, reliable internet for the same or cheaper than what you can get now.
  24. Hahahaha....yeah, cause the Corporate Plan is riddled with meaningless data as opposed to you facts which come from Alan Jones. Have you even looked at the Corporate Plan? I doubt it. You think your opinion counts but when it's based on nothing but your gut feeling and is opposed to all available data then there's a false equivalency going on. Your opinion does not deserve equal footing against the weight of evidence. It's become patently obvious that you haven't the slightest clue about the NBN, the funding of it, the rollout of it or the potential of it not to mention the need for it. I bet you're a climate change denier, too.
