OSX is every bit as hackable as PC. In fact, some people will tell you OSX is easier to hack as Apple has not put in 10% of the effort to defending OSX that Windows and 3rd parties have put into Windows defense. Thing is, if I'm going to spend time write code to break into a computer, should I target 15% of the market with little penetration outside the home PC and lower online presence or should I target the other 85% of the market which pretty much saturates home and business alike and has a very strong online presence thanks to it being a far superior gaming platform? I've been running bare for a decade or more and simply have no issues. I have a basic firewall which keeps out outsiders and don't click on links like a f**king spastic.

You'll generally get away with things like ECUs, injectors and stock looking aftermarket turbos, but high mounts, big front mounts, pods filters and anything glaringly obvious will likely not slip through a roady.

Dude, which data centre do you work in? I want to know because we use data centres and virtual servers for our business and I want to know which ones to avoid. Please tell me you don't work for Ninefold? That you are under attack has nothing at all to do with your operating system. There are exploits in all software and people will try and break into anything. You could make wholesale changes to your operating systems tomorrow but the attacks won't stop. There's not a single network on earth immune to threats. "having a PC , you may as well bender over now as the hackers will f**k you anyway" is still one of the silliest things I've read on the internet.

FYI that all comes to a smidge under $9,000. NOT OVER 9000! As has been said, you can save $500 on rods and the CP piston set seems a little pricey. In fact, even Ebay has eagle rods/CP piston sets for ~$1250 delivered. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/CP-Pistons-Eagle-Rods-Skyline-RB25DET-R32-R33-86-5mm-/270771423476?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f0b3c08f4&_uhb=1#ht_4473wt_1163

That's the single dumbest f**king thing I've read on the internet and demonstrates that you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. Be gone.

Yes, fixed stock. And why is that so sucky? It's obvious that you're not a fan of something you've never done, but I'm not sure why a fixed stock sucks. The guns were modified airsoft weapons.

Full size, full weight M4 replicas. By then end of the night my arms were stuffed. They look great and are metal so feel very robust. Can fire in semi or full and there's a reload button on the side. At the moment it's simply push to reload, but they intend on introducing timers and the like, so push the button and it takes 10 seconds to reload. Eventually it's their intention to have difficulty levels which will introduce limited ammo and lives of varying degrees. That, combined with four man teams and recoil on the weapons, will really make it something special.

That. Was. Awesome. We were booked in for 8:40 but IRL Shooter Facebook was suggesting not turning up for an hour after planned as they were running a couple hours behind. Turned up about 9:30 and were told we would be in by around 11:20, hopefully. Went to the pub for an hour and got the call "Come back and we'll get you ready to roll". Headed back, stood in the rego building having a right laugh with the guy there who had been at it for about 15 hours and still had a smile and was happy to chat. The guy was totally knackered as all the staff we saw, but they were still on. Props. After about 25 minutes we got the call. We were taken to a door, told to line up single file and when we were ready, bash on the door. So we did. I won't go too much into what happened next cause I don't want to possibly spoil it for anyone. It's best lived. But I will say the work that has gone into it was amazing. The set design, story line, actors, gameplay, everything was brilliant. We had a blast. There are some thing they can do for next time round that will absolutely improve the experience, but last night was great. My whole team loved it, everyone we spoke to loved it. If you are thinking about having a dig, do it. It's $125 well spent. I can't wait for next year.

Woot, into the top 20 Pretty sure I'm the only person in the SAU team actually folding at the moment though.

Today is the day zombies will die. If the pre-game effort they have gone to is any indication of the game itself, tonight is going to be pretty damn good. So far we have received our "orders" in the mail, along with our GAPS access card. I also received an email earlier this week with a special mission set for myself and one of my party members to complete. They have set up a website where we can get a full rundown of the night. They have videos of the antagonist, weapons briefings etc etc. So far, very impressive. Feedback coming out has been very positive thus far. I can't wait.

With Shannons? That's not what they told me. There was no mention of which days I can use my car. I asked how they actually prove that I only use my car a day or two a week and they said they'd go around and ask neighbours how often it goes out and stuff. He kinda said it in a way that made me think TBH they don't give a shit and know they would struggle to prove I went beyond "Limited Use". At no time did I tell them what days I'll drive it.

300Km To A Tank... What The Hell? R33 Gts-T
Cowboy1600 replied to tripsteady's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Your coilpacks won't be helping. Do this. Fill tank to the first click of the pump nozzle Reset trip meter Drive till "empty" - as in you hit the bottom of the fuel gauge not until the car actually stops Go to servo Fill tank to full (one click again) Take note of how many litres you added Divide litres by distance travelled in kilometers and multiply by 100 - ie, (49 litres / 387 kilometers) *100 = 12.66l per 100ks. If you get anything south of 15 with an RB, you're doing OK, however new coilpacks will improve it. I also found that resetting my ECU improved things in my R33. To do this, disconnect your battery then hold your foot on the brake for 30 seconds. This will discharge all of the residual power out of your car. Reconnect the battery and drive the car around for 30 minutes being very gentle. R33 ECUs (like most cars) have a tiny amount of self-adjustablility and will actually "learn" what kind of driving you do and adjust accordingly. So if you drive like a pussy, it'll learn to be frugal. Note, the range over which it can "self-adjust" is very small. -
Really? I'm with Shannons on PBTM with the "limited use" type insurance and went from $86/month to $92/month last year. I'm rating 1 and 33 with no accident or licence suspension history and a $10k agreed value. Me thinks it's time to call Shannons and see if they can do me a better deal

I got a set of YJs from Performance Wise and about two weeks in two of them died. I contacted Paul (from performance wise) sent him some pics of them and he sent me out a full set of replacements within a couple days. The second set have performed flawlessly for the past year. I recommend them and recommend getting them through Performance Wise. Yes, I had an issue, but Paul was great getting it sorted very quickly and without me having to take my car off the road (I sent him the defective ones after he sent out the replacements).

Thoughts On Buying Computers And Phones While Overseas.
Cowboy1600 replied to tweety bird's topic in PC & Games Discussion
There are two One X/Ls at my work and while neither have actually had an issue, they just do not feel like a well constructed phone. They feel plasticy and flimsy. My Velocity is at the opposite end of the scale. It feels Nokia like in it's construction. -
Thoughts On Buying Computers And Phones While Overseas.
Cowboy1600 replied to tweety bird's topic in PC & Games Discussion
You can get a One XL 4G off Mobicity for $558 delivered. Is it worth saving $60 for any potential draw backs on buying OS? Note: that is a 4G as well. Not sure if the one you found for $493 is 4G. Do you know what frequencies the $493 one works on? You need to ensure any phone bought overseas works on one of the Australia bands. http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/mobile_phone_frequencies -
Loan Repayment For Imported Cars
Cowboy1600 replied to mzkrkmn's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I'm sure you can find more, too. Are you aware of how many lenders there are out there? Oh, also, did you check the comp. rate on the Greater Building Society? It's 16.41%pa. That's credit card territory. It's fine to say they'll secure it for older cars, but if that means you're paying worse than unsecured credit card or personal loan rates, then it's all a bit pointless, don't you think? EDIT: Actually, to correct the above you can get 11.19% on cars up to 10 years old. That's pretty good. 10 years is still odd. And I can get 11.95% through a major at the moment for unsecured personal loan. -
Loan Repayment For Imported Cars
Cowboy1600 replied to mzkrkmn's topic in General Automotive Discussion
It's still not the rule. Seven years is still out of the norm, but not unheard of. Eleven years is very, very unusual. Even the PCU website says they'll go to five, so for them to negotiate to eleven is odd. -

if you're a qualified dentist, sure. As a qualified finance broker, I assume I can comment on such things. In order to service our brokers I need to know all aspects of the industry inside out. I never said it was impossible, but rather said your deal was the exception to the rule. -

I work in IT within the finance industry. The deal you got is an exception to the rule, rather than the rule itself. -
Loan Repayment For Imported Cars
Cowboy1600 replied to mzkrkmn's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Actually what I'm saying is based on me working in the finance industry. I don't have a loan of any variety. What you got is a long, long, LONG way from the norm. And you've somewhat reinforced what I said. You can get 11-12% non-secured through ANZ at the moment. Going off the PCU site, they offer 11% comp. rate for cars no older than 5 years. It would seem you got lucky to get them to secure against an 11 year old car. What car is it, out of interest? And are you a copper by any chance? Oh, and lending practices are actually still tightening. Lenders have become fundamentally more risk averse and are changing their practices accordingly. -
Good outcome, Jean, and somewhat of a miracle! Terry, I'm not 100% sure, but paying up does not equate to an admission of guilt. They are well within their right to payout to "shut someone up" (as per your ambit payout) while still maintaining that it was not their fault.

A pic of the guns. They weight in at ~3.5kg each. Unfortunately, due to a problem importing parts, they will have no recoil
