  1. How long ago was that, Ryan? Lending practices changed, dramatically, post 2008. Once upon a time you could borrow 105% of the value of a home. These days it's 90% unless your an existing customer where you might get 95%. Some banks are even limiting all lending to 80% these days. And what was the actual rate you paid vs. unsecured with other lenders? Also, which credit union? If you paid 13% "secured" but could have got 11% unsecured with another lender, then the whole secure thing is a bit pointless.
  2. Just fired up FaH on my machine. Says I'll nail 15,000PPD at this rate. Will be interesting to see that when my PC is idle.
  3. Anyone else going "Patient 0". I'm booked in for 10/11 @ 8:40pm. http://irlshooter.com/
  4. How old is the car? You'll struggle to get anything older than five years old secured, and 10 years + is simply not an option. Being an import adds a whole new layer of difficulty. TBH you'll be best going unsecured and copping an extra couple of percent interest. The chance of getting it secured it 5/5ths of FA. Give Haylee Reid at Mildura Finance a call on 03 5051 0400 - she'll be able to give you a definite answer on where to get the best deal. Don't worry about the Mildura part, they have brokers all over the state who they can put you in touch with or even write the loan from there.
  5. Boo yah! Yet ANOTHER iMac bites the dust. A 24" POS. Started running slow so the Dev rebooted. It made a big beep sound on power down and now won't power up at all. Dead.
  6. Thread needs to be re-titled "Apple cash grab - ipad 4; how retarded do you ipad 3 owners feel now? Bet you'll still buy one, and an ipad mini, though"
  7. Spotted a white C34 RS4S on the Greensborough bypass heading up the hill at ~5:45 this arvo. I was on the red R1 and gave you a toot and a wave as I split past you.
  8. Yeah, but your GTR is useful. I have yet to find a use for a tablet that my desktop or lappy don't do better. Would you buy a Commonwhore if you had an M3 and a 916 in the shed at home?
  9. Is there a Gmail app for iPhone?
  10. Nope, there's nothing they use which isn't Windows compatible. I agree with. I've tried to need a tablet to the point of taking the work ones home for a few weeks (and for all intents and purposes it was mine for that time) but I simply don't get it. I'm far more inclined to take my lappy with me if I'm going to be mobile and if I'm at home it's either my phone or desktop that I use. It simply didn't change even when i had full access to a tablet 24/7. While I want a tablet, it's not strong enough for me to go out and get one and the more I try to need one the more I think they are bullshit. The only time I could see an absolute need for one is when I'm sitting on a train which happens maybe once every 6 months. Once my wife goes back to work I may have to catch the train a couple days a week (so I can do a baby shuttle between the grandparents and our house) so would get one, but outside of that I've failed to see the reason why.
  11. By far the easiest way is to setup a Gmail account then go Settings >> Accounts and set Gmail to send via your Bigpond account then use Gmail for everything when you're overseas.
  12. Developers and arty farty people have them. The developers need OS about once a year (they run Windows 99.99999999% of the time) and for some reason arty farty people are incapable of operating windows based machines.
  13. Another iMac here has eaten shit. 24" less than 2 years old. Doing exactly the same as the other one which bit the dust recently; locking solid with no option but to hard reboot. Did a Prime95/Real Temp test and one of the cores was sitting at 93 with the rest at mid 80s. We only have eight Macs in the office (and twenty eight PCs) and the score is 2-0.
  14. Stao has invested so much time into his turbos and they work so bloody well on RBs I can't help but think they should be at the top of the tree for anyone aiming for between 200 and 350awkw. From all reports his service is beyond reproach and his turbos are nothing short of brilliant. I don't actually own one, yet, but have read the entire HG thread and it's hard to come to any other conclusions aside from the ones I've come up with.
  15. I got a Beta invite yesterday so will fire it up tonight. I'm in the Hawken Alpha and, well, it's utter shite. Am keen to get into MW.
  16. There's at least one good reason I can think of why you can't find any threads where people have dropped $1k on cams for an NA rb35...
  17. get rid of symanrec and just use the native microsoft stuff. Microsoft Security Essentials and the Microsoft firewall.
  18. Aye, I don't run any form of security, and haven't done for a decade. I used to run Trend Micro Housecall every couple of months, but it never found anything so I don't even do that anymore.
  19. http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/ssdsc2ct120a3k5-intel-120gb-p-57685.html?sort=2a SSD prices have plummeted over the past 12 months. I paid ~$190 for my 60Gb about 18 months ago. Can now get em for ~$70.
  20. How many monies you want?
  21. The hearse. Or, as my friends wife once put it, "it looks like a taxi f**ked a hearse", but that doesn't really roll off the tongue.
  22. Got purple? http://www.theage.com.au/digital-life/mobiles/apple-says-cameras-purple-haze-is-normal-20121003-26yf7.html This iPhone 5 really is revolutionary, isn't it? Shitty battery life, crappy camera, incompatible with all the stupid non-micro USB devices one was forced to buy in the past, specs which do not better it's high end competition, the most awesome mapping on the planet, a connector plug that, after costing you another $39, doesn't do video out and, of course, there's a good chance that when you opened the box to unveil your shiny new toy, it wasn't actually that shiny and had scratches around the case already.
