E85 Starting To Look Like A Good Option In Victoria
Cowboy1600 replied to frozenpod's topic in Victoria
Don't forget to add 15% more HP into the equation. -
The 1/4 mile times are within about 2-3/10ths of each other so I reckon the 86 would probably have the edge on the Commonwhore on the track. The Mazda MX5 is a genuine sports car and it's slower than both. An r33 is fractionally quicker in a straight line than both but I reckon the 86 would have it around a track, too.

Amen. I'm trying to consolidate my fours personal email addresses into one. It's proving fecking hard.

The interior looks very minimalist which is perfect for the car, IMO. I still don't like boxers, but this little car is awesome.

We have a full time admin type role going at the moment. In the finance area, responsible for arranging commissions payments to mortgage brokers, dealing with commission enquiries and problems, liaising with lenders and so on. We're based in Collins Street, 2 mins from Southern Cross station. Looking at about $35k-40k+ super. Young company soon to be the biggest mortgage broker aggregator in the country. It's also a place that once you're in you get first dibs at any other roles which might arise. I agree with the email address thing, too. Personally it doesn't bother me, but I know a lot of companies will do a initial elimination of applicants based on things like spelling, email addresses and the like. http://www.seek.com.au/Job/accounts-and-administration-assistant/in/melbourne-cbd-inner-suburbs/22733362

The RACV service is pretty darn good for about $100 a year and I think the NRMA one is pretty good too. About the only issue I ever hear about them is it can take them literally hours to make it to you, but that's to be expected really because they service a lot of people and don't have an unlimited number of resources. I've used the RACV once when my brothers cars regulator died. Service was great. Tow truck arrived after a couple hours and took me from Werribee to Sunshine with no issues. Didn't cost a cent (it was actually 1.5ks past their free towing limit but the driver said he'd put it in as the limit).

Tax Time! Post Cool Stuff You Bought
Cowboy1600 replied to SoFreshSoClean's topic in PC & Games Discussion
Just ordered a pixel perfect Yamakasi Q270 2560x1440 res goodness, here I come -
Order made! Gone for a pixel perfect Q270. There seems to be a bit of contention regarding whether or not the 2703s are "S-IPS" or just IPS. S-IPS are superior, apparently. I figured $60 for piece of mind was a bargain,l so went for no dead pixels. I will record and report each step of the process. From reports there's a good chance I'll have it by the end of the week.
-
Right, CC paid off, but now I'm not sure which one to buy. The Q270 or the 2703? Do I pay $60 for pixel perfect or take my chances? I can't see 5 dead pixels bothering me but wonder if it means it would be less likely to have bleeding. Time for some more research. I will be ordering tonight.

Feck I hate banks. Paid of my CC yesterday, money's gone from my account but not yet on my CC. It's utter bullshit that it takes multiple days to arrange something like an electronic transfer of funds. I want my CC paid off so I can use it to buy my damn monitor

They aren't necessarily more efficient, but there's far less difference between a big and small engine when a big engine is just loping along at a constant speed well within it's ability. The torque helps, too. More go at lower RPM means lower overall gearing and lower revs as cruise speed which equates to lower fuel usage.

It does on my phone. Swipe the word, take off finger and start the next and a space is added.
-
I've started using the swipe keyboard on my Velocity. It's pretty neat. I find it more accurate but that said, i still tend to push more than swipe. My brain hasn't fully made the change yet.

Since there's no mention of budget, how about: Complete a 5 hour drive in about 30 minutes.

Tax Time! Post Cool Stuff You Bought
Cowboy1600 replied to SoFreshSoClean's topic in PC & Games Discussion
So far all I've bought is another Ethernet Over Power adapter set. Not more friggin' wireless to my PC I've ordered a second 6950, a Lever 10 GTS, Corsair H100 water cooler and will be ordering a Yamakasi Catleap 27" IPS monitor tomorrow. -
Woohoo! Tax has landed, CC paid off, a second Gigabyte 6950 ordered, Level 10 GTS ordered, H100 cooler ordered, Monitor will be ordered tomorrow.

Till something inevitably goes wrong with it.

Fugged if I know. I dropped in there yesterday and asked what's going on as they are listed as having E85 on the website. There were two guys behind the counter, one stared blankly at me, the other clearly knew what I was talking about. The knowing one said they dug up the forecourt (which you could see) to install the required lines but then figured out that the tanks were fibreglass and therefore unsuitable for E85. Would be interesting to hear from someone in the know. I assume the alcohol and fibreglass resin probably do not get along too well? Anyone know the chemical reason (assuming that is the reason) why there is a problem with putting ethanol into FG tanks?
-
FYI, Eltham United is listed as having E85 on the United website, but they do not and will not. They dug up the forecourt to install the pumps and line then figured out they have fibreglass tanks. So no E85, ever, at Eltham that's dinted my E85 ambitions and made a setup which can handle both 98 and 85 a must.
-
Is that a Stao supplied one? Wait, you answered that a bit further on Happy with the Adaptronic? Are you running E85 at the moment?
-
Going onto an RB25 neo. I've already got an FC, but would swap it out for something more capable of running multiple maps/adjustment for varying ethanol levels or 98.
-
Ideally that's what I'd like to do. What ECU do you use?
-
Ethanol is becoming the fuel of choice for turbo applications, of that there is little doubt. For a number of people, it would seem, the only thing holding them back from going down the ethanol path is availability. As sourcing this fuel becomes easier more people will want to go down the E path, myself included. One thing I know I am finding difficult is souring a succinct database of everything ethanol related. There's lots of information on here regarding ethanol, but it tends to be spread all over the place. I figure a number of people are in the same boat as me, interested in ethanol but find getting the right information difficult. Hence this thread - a central place for questions and answers, explanations, examples and outcomes of all thing ethanol related. To start things off, what I'd be interested in is a complete ethanol solution. I'm currently running a RB25 neo, and will be upgrading injectors (ID1000s), turbo (HG) and fuel pump soon. I have a PFC already. What would the best way to go about going the ethanol path while still having the ability to run other fuels? I'm interested in an ethanol content meter and datalogit. It'd be nice to have multiple maps which I could switch between depending on ethanol content. Who's doing it, how have you set it up, what did it cost, what have the results been like, what would/will you change and so on? What other questions, tips, tricks or suggestions do people have in regards to switching to ethanol?

I just put a cheapo OCZ Octane into my 6-7 year old Asus duo core. It's transformed it! Thing bloody flies now.
