  1. Yeah, but is he blowing a hair dryer down a straw? No, he's using a turbo which many others have used before him and made substantially more power than he is. My point stands. That turbo on that engine should make a solid 20kw+ more than he's getting at that boost level (even dropping off to 17psi). How many others have had issues with too much boost down low? I may have seen one or two but generally everyone is chasing boost coming on earlier. Sure, you don't want it banging from 5 to 20 PSI between 2500 and 2800rpm, but too much boost down low again suggests there are other issues at play, which again is my point.
  2. You're pushing 21psi into an RB25 and only hitting 244kw? Something doesn't seem right there. I know boost doesn't relate directly to power, but tons of cars are making way more than that with that kinda boost. And how does one have too much boost down low?
  3. Very tidy. Front bar looks great. Needs some more low.
  4. Mind if I ask what your budget is? Just for the bike? I'll have a poke around for a good LAMS bike. Anything you are set on or definitely not interested in?
  5. As a bit of a comparo, I bought my S2 RSVS with exhaust, K&N, PFC, Bilstein, sway bars, king springs, Eboost2 and a few other bits of fruit for $10k last July. The car had been advertised for quite a while (on here and Carsales). TBH $13k is "fair" but fact is the second hand market has been dead for years and isn't ever likely to recover. Advertise for $13k and you will eventually get $11.5k. Advertise for $11 k and you'll get $10.5k in a few weeks. At the end of the day a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Yours has plenty of fruit but I doubt a Stag buyer will see that as genuine value.
  6. How'd you go with this, Charles? Did you have a squizz at the bike?
  7. Iiiii don't think that thing HAS a rev llimiter. It's pulling some serious RPM for an RB.
  8. Try a new O2 sensors. They get worn and affect part throttle performance and fuel consumption. About $90 for an aftermarket one from one of the forum traders (forgotten which one - search the Classifieds) and a quick and easy job to do assuming your current one isn't caked in rust. Have you had your tranny serviced? Now might be a good time to put a shift kit in it. Will tighten up the shifts which will in turn improve consumption and power through fewer drivetrain losses. Also, you've done oil changes but have you been doing filters (namely air) and plugs?
  9. Oh my....
  10. Redline/limiter /= valve bounce. I used to hit the limiter often in my 33. No harm done. I wouldn't suggest holding it on the limiter, but flicking it every now and then won't be too much of an issue.
  11. No worries. It just shits me when people swoop into an active thread which others are discussing things in and does the whole"ZOMG guys, stop already" when they haven't actually been involved. Just because you don't want to discuss something, doesn't mean others aren't allowed.
  12. Dude, just f**k off. If you don't like it, stop reading it. Simple.
  13. Take someone with you who knows Skylines and get them to go over it. It's amazing what you figure out about these things after owning one. Whereabouts is it located?
  14. This isn't about you "PERSONALLY". It's about a law designed to try and prevent death and injury caused by immature brains controlling a vehicle.
  15. I'm with Wolverine. That thing looks neat, but it's got a lot of Ks on it. I reckon for equal money you should be able to find better. I got my S2 manual with half the Ks and plenty of fruit for $3k more.
  16. S1 = Series 1. Rather than a Series Two:
  17. Actually the road toll has slowly decreased while the population booms. I'm not advocating for increased enforcement of the road rules. In fact I think most road rules are total bunkus. There is no "road carnage" that the Government likes to tell us there is. It's all a con designed to scare us into submission. Long ago Governments worked out the best way to maintain a compliant population was to keep them afraid. However not all road rules are stupid, the ban on high powered cars being one of them IMO. I don't think the same goes for high powered motorbikes, however. Why? Because the likelihood of a motorcyclist harming someone other than themselves is incredibly small. The Government should stop trying to protect us from ourselves. By all means, protect us from others, but not from ourselves.
  18. Whereas Probationary drivers make up 14% of licensed road users. If you take pretty much all of that 38% to be men (fair assumption) and then say halve the P plate drivers, that make 7% of road users account for 38% of "hoon" offenders. Even allowing for a bit of movement you could comfortably say 10% of male p platers account for 35% of "hoon" offences.
  19. I reckon they look the goods on yellow. As I have a yellow Stag, I may consider some pending price.
  20. Last years 17-25 year old road toll in Vic was down 34% on 2007 (the year the high powered ban was introduced). In the same time the overall road toll decreased by 14% in the same period. While this doesn't prove that the ban has worked, one could easily conclude it's had some positive effect on the road toll.
  21. At 20 years old the frontal lobe isn't fully developed. The Frontal Lobe is responsible for the ability to recognise future consequences resulting from current actions, to choose between good and bad actions (or better and best), override and suppress unacceptable social responses, and determine similarities and differences between things or events. Therefore, it is involved in higher mental functions. Therefore, no matter how much of a totally awesome driver you think are because you've managed to not write off a car....yet...your brain isn't developed enough to consider the ramifications of your actions fully which therefore leads to increased risk taking behaviour. When that risk taking behaviour has the potential to kill and maim people other than yourself, the Government has a fundamental responsibility to try and avoid such a situation occurring. Some rules they make in seeking to achieve this are good (such as no HP cars for P platers) and some are bad (such as draconian speeding laws and enforcement). Having no idea how I actually got through my late teens and early 20s without killing myself and a couple other people in a car smash, I agree with the ban on high powered cars for young people, especially men (young men have lots of testosterone). I was allowed a high powered car, but fortunately went for something which handled instead (2L powered Datsun 1600). Had I have had a seriously powered car, I would be dead, without fail. So basic physiology supports a ban on high powered cars for young men, pure and simple, as do I.
  22. Which is why you wouldn't part with a cent until you've seen the car and checked out it's all legit and worth it. It's not hard to not get ripped off when buying over ebay.
  23. Tell ya what though, it's only at $8,600 at the moment. It's clearly had a lot of work. Even if it doesn't do 9s, if it goes for under $10k I reckon someone got themselves and absolute bargain. If I were in the market for a 33 I'd try and buy it. Of course I would not pay a cent until I actually pick the car up/inspected the car.
  24. 9 second car for sale, no pic of timeslip.
  25. I didn't think they came in Manuel?
