  1. Must...not....necrothread.....ahh, stuff it. Supras look homo. Therefore RBs win by default (unless you can find a manual Chaser). /thread
  2. I ride a 1000cc sportsbike and drive a bright yellow Stagea (and a black R33 before that and a bright orange and rather loud 180b before that) and haven't been "harassed" in over a decade. Strangely enough, the only time I've ever been "harassed" is when I was driving like a f**k wit, apart from maybe twice where I got caught in an RTA/Police operation in Lismore on Cog night. But then I should have known better than to be in Lismore on a Thursday night. So in about 17 years of driving obnoxious, loud and fast cars and bikes, generally well above the speed limit and without really giving a shit what anyone on the road thinks, I'd say twice I was "harassed" by police. The other 4,385 times I've been pulled over were fair enough and I was likely driving/riding like I deserved it. The moral of my story? Stop driving like a f**k wit in places notorious for being f**k wit attractants and the police will leave you alone. There is no conspiracy. You're young and you drive like you think you're Fangio, or you hang out in places you think chicks hang at, where as in reality only other guys hang out (make of that what you will). You'll grow out of it one day (or at least learn to pick your times and places) and almost like magic the Police "harassment" will stop.
  3. I've been getting pretty regular 13.5l/100ks from the RS4S. It's got a cooler, exhaust, YJs, iridium plugs, a PFC, runs 12PSi (mostly) and is in need of a tune. It's returning pretty solid results of around 13.5/100 which is pretty much 100% city/suburban driving. It sees a fair bit of welly action regularly, too. I'm fairly happy with that.
  4. Simple test. Drive along at say 60-70kph in third. Put the throttle to the floor then jab the clutch (quick hit in and out immediately). If the revs flare and then stay there and you don't really accelerate, your clutch is boned. If it flares then falls back pretty quickly, then it's something else. There's no way you'll get it going in 4th. TBH it doesn't sound like a clutch problem. I'm not sure there is a problem at all, maybe you're just not used to what your car sounds like at constant RPM.
  5. Out of interest, who did the conversion and where is the tank?
  6. Hold onto the Skyline until you have your full license and then flog it off and buy whatever takes your fancy (personally I'd go a 33 GTST over the NA MX5 or 180sx). I wouldn't spend a cracker on the GTS.
  7. Sure. It's a decent size sub and the magnet is about double the normal thickness. I've got the wood, now I just have to draw it out and then get the FiL to cut it round. Once done I'll bolt it all together and see what it looks like and take some picks.
  8. Just one thing to bear in mind re: sub enclosure, if your sub has a double stack magnet, it will not fit without some sort of spacer Figured this out yesterday when i went to fit mine I'll need to make up a ring spacer about an inch think go give myself enough room. Will head to Bunnings this arvo to get some wood.
  9. Not if they are a financial write off.
  10. Went and picked up my sub enclosure today. What a ripper! Extremely happy at Pete's work and grateful for the effort he's gone into making these. Thanks a ton Pete; you've done a cracker of a job.
  11. So they pay the GST and import duties? I find that a bit difficult to believe. Or do they lie on the import declaration?
  12. Good outcome. So, do the cops get a fang in your GTR?
  13. Poke poke poke.... I want this thread to thrive! I want to get the Stag to 300kwatw, so this thread delivers. I'm really only lacking turbo and injectors but don't know whether to go the 3071 (unlikely but would love the response) 3076 (likely) or HG G3 or SS2? (i think?[quite possible]). I'm forever switching and changing so I'll be watching this thread with interest.
  14. I need to link the facepalms again....
  15. Unrucky. An ST141; my first car. Bummer about the pushy. Fingers crossed you get it back.
  16. It's going to cost a solid $50 to post, he'll likely need different oil/water lines and a dump pipe. Then there's fitting and/or tuning. $700 is likely a conservative estimate.
  17. There's nothing wrong with trying a cheap turbo, but putting one on while you wait a week or two for your genuine Garrett to arrive is simply retarded. It's one of the silliest things I've read on here thus far. And I read most of NewB's inane bullshit!
  18. Yet he's considering spending what will likely end up being ~$700 on a temp turbo? WTF? Cutting spending on education clearly isn't working. Then again, someone has to fit my tyres....
  19. Gah, Sunday is what I meant. Heck, I wrote Sat twice, but yes, it's Sunday.
  20. It's a bit of a shizen place to get to, but it'll be early on Saturday so traffic should be pretty light. I'll meet you there at 9am.
  21. Well, my Mrs has just informed me that she won't be out that long in the morning and she's booked us in to look at a couple of cars for her early Sat morning so I'll probably lob at the meet point and shuffle off with everyone but at some stage zig when you guys zag and head home. So, who's heading to Monash from the north/north east?
  22. Just a quick reference, you're very, very wrong. YJs went in perfectly. No angle, bolts lined up perfectly. Fitting was a breeze.
