  1. I assume, based on this thread, you've never driven a Stag with a solid shifter. Not all cars are the same. Save your cash. By all mean shorten the shift, but don't go for a solid. And shorter and solid actually making shifting harder as you need to push the level harder due to less leverage and also have to be much more precise due to the solid. I'm loathe to say they are shit, but it's not far from the truth.
  2. I used to drive one of these as a work vehicle. Decent vehicle. Made in Thailand so build wasn't Japanese-esqu, but it wasn't Chinese either. Good motor but fekin' thirsty. Fuel economy was poo. I preferred the BA Falcon ute on LPG to the Rodeo (the other work vehicle I drove a lot).
  3. I'm certainly not missing that. I just don't get why they'd put a boxer into it. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Inline 4s and 6s are their bread and butter and they have done them as well as anybody. Why screw up a winning formula? It will be interesting to see how it's priced. It'll also be interesting to see how slow it is. Will it be aimed at the 370 and will that cause Nissan to rethink their pricing?
  4. It's calle the '86' an it's...conservative to say the least. The obvious link is to the AE86 and that thing is an absolute cult classic. What a great way to stuff all that up. http://theage.drive.com.au/motor-news/toyota-reveals-86-sports-car-20111127-1o131.html It's powered by a boxer engine, and not just any boxer but an actual Subaru boxer...WTCF? Great way to completely destroy a car. Boxers are horrible pieces of boat anchor and should be confined to Porsches and Kombis. Who in their right mind decided on a friggin' boxer over a "new gen" JZ or 21st century 4AGZE? Seriously. Someone at Toymota needs an honoring.
  5. Lol...high mount manifold for 300RWKW. IB4L and "Thread closed. Believe it or not, but since SAU started more than 7 years ago, this topic has been discussed before....."
  6. That's about the perfect size turbo for my bike. I too am interested in a price.
  7. Electrician or Dunny Diver. Let someone else work on your Aston while you lounge by the pool.
  8. Amen. Stao is so completely transparent about the performance of the Hypergear stuff that there's really not much to say. The results are readily available and hard to misinterpret. And Status have such a good reputation, so there's nothing going on there. The only people I can see who are critical of Hypergear gear are those who have clearly f**ked something up from the start. I'd be surprised if most, if not all, of the people who have had issues with HG gear weren't the actual root cause.
  9. Reckon you could post a better photo? It's a bit hard to tell if it's any good when it's not in context. need one of the whole front of the car.
  10. Saw the white C34 again this morning on Greensborough Road outside Simpsons Army barracks. This time I was in my yellow C34 going the other way so no burnout or wheelie.
  11. Cog night used to be Thursday nights. I doubt much has changed.
  12. I'd love to say nice pickup, but do not like boxer engines one bit. Each to their own, however. Hope it brings you years of joy....turncoat.
  13. There'ya. I just tidied that up for you.
  14. Ahhh, good ol' Goonellabah. I used to go to Kadina HS. Don't tell me the bogans of Lismore have finally got over their VL fetish? I think every VL ever built was, at one stage, owned by someone in Lismore. I remember standing in Woodlark St on Cog Night years ago and could simultaneously see thirteen VLs and there were at least four I knew of which weren't there.
  15. He sells a shiiiiit load of them OS, hence the ex-GST price. They are a seriously, seriously good bit of kit.
  16. I paid $10k for http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/364173-fs-1999-c34-nissan-stagea-rs4-s-factory-manual-power-fc/page__p__5811591__hl__xrhettx__fromsearch__1#entry5811591 in June or July (I've forgotten). A shit load of car but that's the kinda money they are going for. I had a pretty neat 33 GTST with a tiny amount of damage to the front right, and I mean tiny. It also went with a heap of spares. I had it up for $3.5k and would have taken $3k. I ended up swapping it for a mint 2000 R1. Cars are worthless. But most people already knew that.
  17. Very clean white S2 at the end of Greensborough Road waiting to turn right into Lower Plenty Road. I was on the red R1 which did a little burnout then a little wheelie.
  18. Shake the Magic Eight Ball and the response will come back "outlook bleak". Although if just doing the cat back, it might fit with some minor mods and bashing. It's unlikely to be an ideal scenario, however. Why don't you buy an exhaust for an R33 GTR instead?
  19. I assume it'd be more similar to a 33 GTR box the 34 GTT box.
  20. My Stag has a short shifter. The only thing I have to compare it to is my R33. I'd prefer a box without it. It's incredibly notchy and if you aren't perfect it shifts like a bastard. To be honest, assuming the shift would be the same as my 33, I'd prefer it without a short shifter. But I'm not sure it's apples and apples due to what I assume is a hardier box in the Stags to cope with AWD.
  21. Half a tank might not be half a tank. Run it to the fuel light and then see how much it takes to fill and calculate from there.
  22. It's no Climb Dance, but it's awesome none the less.
  23. You live near in Tamborine and you keep hitting wheelie bins? Dude!! Seriously. Time to retake your driving test.
  24. By 14k do you mean $14,000 worth of work? And 580cc injectors are stressed running 264kw? WTF?
