I agree with some of your sentiment, but I don't agree with how you came about it. I agree that FWD drive cars are simply never going to match a RWD car of equal standing. There's one reason pure and simple: As soon as you make the wheels responsible for direction also be responsible for drive, you are going to run into problems. It is that simple. When you have one pair of wheels doing the pointing AND propulsion, you have to compromise. And that compromise will lead to decreased performance. Sure, FWD are getting better and they are getting less and less torque steery, but it will ALWAYS be an issue. It's got nothing to do with target markets, it purely an engineering problem. As for you comments about Falcons and Commodores, that I disagree with. They are no more or less designed with "sportiness" in mind than any other road going car (save for the absolute upper end supercars). Even EVOs are built on a modified shopping trolley platform. And if they are not "sporty" why then are they so quick? A well steered Commodore/Falcon is a difficult thing to keep up with.

Wtf..dealer Fault Destroys Engine

Mate, you're the one who made a sooky topic trying to shift blame for someone else's f**k up. IMO you're the one in need of a cup of concrete. -
Front drivers are great fun for pure punting. I've driven some great front drivers. But I love tail out happiness.

That's what i was saying. If the shop f**ks up, they are liable. If the customer tells them to hold off on some work which comes back to bite, then tries to blame the shop, they have no one to blame but themselves. This thread, and it's inception, demonstrates peoples willingness to shift blame at every opportunity. The dude who owns the BT50 needs to harden up. He has NO recourse for a claim after waiting 180,000ks not to mention I'll almost guarantee that they asked him if he wants the timing belt done and he said no. -

No problem here. I can see he's been trying to sell it for quite a while so thought I'd give him a heads up. I'm not telling him it's too expensive, but letting him know they are going BRAND NEW for less than $1000 more than what he's asking. He may not have been aware of this FACT. -

Hey dude, not having a go, so please don't think I am, but you can get '10 model GSXR750s for $13,990 ride away at the moment. Just a head up. -
Who, apart from Nismoid, said they handle like shit? My friends BA XR8 does an admirable job at slinging through corners at a furious rate. And it's 100% stock apart from a set of Sportmax GT 600s. I'd say anyone suggesting that XRs don't handle are speaking from a point of sheer ignorance. Sure, there are better handling cars (well, duuuuuur), but skylines aren't entirely lithe until they get the suspension fettled a little.

Cowboy1600 replied to ARTZ's topic in General Automotive Discussion
No, I'd say they are liable, assuming it was in fact them who f**ked up and you can prove it and you don't wait 200,000 ks before hitting them up because they f**ked up. If I took my car to a workshop and as I'm driving hoe the sump plug fell out, dumped my oil and my engine seized, fair to say the workshop is negligent (assuming, of course, that they failed to properly replace the sump plug). What this demonstrates is that people are shameless and will do anything they can to pass on the responsibility of their own f**k ups to someone who doesn't deserve it. -
Which Car Has A "slow Down" Warning On The Dash?
Cowboy1600 replied to N1GTR's topic in General Automotive Discussion
It was one F. Sinatra. A man of impeccible taste and one most qualified to discuss such matters. If a bank would lend me the spoondooly to buy a Murcie, even @12%, I'd do it. I couldn't think of a higher pinnacle in life. For a car nut, owning something like that would mean I win. -

Bah, Ferrari's are something you own when you want to be someone. Lambo's are what you own when you are someone. f**k it, who am I kidding, I'm a no one. I'd own an F40 in a heartbeat. Shitty quality be damned. As was said earlier, you either get it or you don't. Laptimes aren't what owning something like an F40 is about. Don't believe me? Stand next to one as it takes off from the lights at full song. If the sound, sight and 2 foot flames on gear change don't impress you, then I guess cars just really aren't your thing. -

Yeah, but it's an R1 and a year younger. It's never been dropped, either. Of that I am 100% confident. Which bikeshop offered $5k, may I ask? I've got a mate looking to trade an 05 CBR 600, absolutely perfect codition with only 30,000ks on it and he's been offered around $5k. Wait, i think you're in SA. -

Just FYI, I bought a immaculate 2001 R1 two weeks ago for $3,500 with 57000ks. I've been watching bikes prices very, very closely for 12 months and I reckon you'll really struggle to get anything above $4k for an good R6 of that age. On that, good luck, -

Righto, after a little bit of interest, but no one coming through with the cash, this is the last bump before it goes on Ebay. It'll be going up @ $0.99 starting with a $3,500 reserve. Alternatively, come pick it up before the end of the week and I'll take $3,000 for it (without the EMU). EMU can be had for $500 on top. -
