The camera operators have special dispensation from council by-laws affecting parking on nature strips, ie. they are allowed to. It's perfectly legal to park in front of one, so long as you are legally parked. If there is no visible signage there telling you it is illegal to park, then it's perfectly legal (so long as it doesn't fall under any of the other rules such as distances from intersections and so on). Technically you are not meant to know that the camera is there anyway, so how can you know to not park in front of it?

Quick Question For Mechanically Minded Ppl

That's kinda what I was thinking? -
Fs - Hks Super D Coilovers - R33 Gtr
Cowboy1600 replied to Cowboy1600's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Interest? -
I have for sale a set of HKS Super D Coilovers for an R33 GTR Skyline. They are missing the front coils, but apart from that are in good nick. All four hold air and have good, stiction free movement. Do NOT come with C-spanners. After $400 firm. If you have something interesting for an R33 GTST I may be interested in swaps with cash adjustment either way. Note I'm not willing to post. Sorry. I'm happy to help get them to you within reason, but won't be posting.

Best Option For Staying Awd
Cowboy1600 replied to sydking's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
That's was cool. Not fair, but cool. Put them on somewhere like Phillip Island and watch the 2wd eat the 4wd. -
Best Option For Staying Awd
Cowboy1600 replied to sydking's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
What is it with people who think 4wd help them get through corners? 4wd is good in the wet or good for getting out of corners if you have big HP, but top speed, braking and corner speed are generally worse when two equivalent cars, one 4wd and one 2wd are put side by side. Anyway, back on topic. Dump you current ride and grab a 32 or 33 GTR. Guaranteed you will be glad you went down that path. So much cheaper (than doing it properly) and easier and in the long run your car won't be a worthless mongrel. Either that or as has been said, a GTiR Pulsar. -
Removing Hicas
Cowboy1600 replied to mature gent's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I'm pretty sure I hate it. I'm sure I can feel the car rear wheel steering all over the place when I get it some herbs. I won't know for sure that it's the HICAS until I remove it, but I'm pretty sure that's what it is. -
Brett Stevens Drag Racer - Arrested
Cowboy1600 replied to GTR R35's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I know this is an old thread, but hearing he got done for dealing shocked the shit outta me. I used to go to scouts and venturers with his wife, Katherine and knew her very well. I was part of the Ceremonial Party that awarded her her Queen's Scout award. She was the last person in the world you would expect to see getting caught up in drug dealing. Anyway, I suppose he had to pay for all his racing somehow. That shit is expensive, you know -
You'll be right mate, life goes on. At the end of the day it's just a car. And you can't go back and change it so do what I do, learn from your mistake then move on. No point letting it get you.
-
Chill out homs. Don't get me wrong, I feel for ya. I've never wrecked a car but I imagine it'd feel pretty shit. I've also done more than my fair share of stupid shit on the road, so I'm not condemning you for anything. All I was saying is if the coppers were going to make an issue of it, they will nail you guaranteed. Anyone willing to stretch the truth or flat out lie for you would get shafted too.
-
I'd say it was a crash. And I'd also say that anyone willing to lie to the po-po to try and save the OPs bacon is a madman. Sorry OP, nothing personal but I've been thru the ringer with the coppers many times and know how they operate. Anyone trying to help you will get taken down too.

Out of interest, what are the witnesses going to be witnessing? From what I can gather this is a one car incident?

Wheel Alignment
Cowboy1600 replied to Cowboy1600's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
All the tyres were brand new and inflated equally at the time of the front end alignment. -
Where's your workshop? My GB grinds pretty badly on 3-4 shift and occasionally into 2nd. I'm pretty sure it's syncros, but wouldn't mind an expert having a squizz over things that can be seen before I start planning any large scale fixes.

Hey guys, Had a wheel alignment done on my car, all the numbers are right (apparently) but not happy with the way it's steering. It feels like I am always steering a little left. The wheel is not straight and when I let go it pulls right. I'm 90% sure I have a chassis alignment issue rather than a wheel alignment issue so am looking into finding a workshop with a Data Liner. I'm also looking to have the chassis rails straightened. They are all pretty mashed up, like many Skylines, but I'm 90% sure this is due to jacking/lifting rather than compression. I need to find a workshop with a Data Liner. I want to bolt my car down and check how straight it is. I'm pretty sure it's out. The car has had a hit on the front left at some stage, but has been repaired pretty well from what I can tell (no paint cracking/discolouration, no bodge welds or crinkled metal). It was not a write-off (according to REVS). Any ideas/suggestions? I can't stand a car that doesn't track straight

Wheel Alignment
Cowboy1600 replied to Cowboy1600's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Make steering heavier? I wound in a heap of castor on my Datto and it lightened up the steering. Maybe I was dreaming it. I have had the alignment done. I'm not terribly happy with it. It pull right a touch but I think this may be a chassis related problem rather than a wheel alignment problem. I need to find a workshop with a Data Liner. I want to bolt my car down and check how straight it is. I'm pretty sure it's out. The car has had a hit on the front left at some stage, but has been repaired pretty well. It was not a write-off (according to REVS). There is a fair bit of damage on the chassis rail, which seems to be pretty common on Skylines. I'm wondering if this is due to jacking/lifting or a prang. It doesn't look compressed. I probably should start another thread about Data Liners - it'll get lost here. -
That's pretty much what I get. I'm hoping and expecting a Nistune and dyno time to improve it somewhat. I've done filter/plugs/oil. Will check the o2 sensor.
-
That will work on a Series 1 RB25det? How much for tuning on top of the end price? Also, which Z32 ECU is best for a Nistune? Does it really matter?

Just Can't Decide On A Computer....
Cowboy1600 replied to soturi's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Mmmmm....I may be wrong but I think you mean you need a Z32 ECU, not AFM, to run a Nistune. -
My best mates mum is shouting him, his GF and his 3 best mates (myself included) and their wives dinner for his 30th Birthday. Were going to Grossi Florentino! She's paying for everything.

You can doubt all you like. Fact is, people do buy stuff like this for investment purposes. Try all you like, but clearly you are unaware of the value of GT Falcons.
