  1. Is it worth spending the money on carbon fiber bonnet and boots lids? and for the bonnet are the vents worth it? do they help with cooling?
  2. i was told by the mechnic, remove the coil packs clean the boots with CO contact cleaner, and for the vally i was told use carby cleaner and tooth brush and the better job i do the better the idle will be! he said to do it right should take a few hours
  3. i was told by someone that i need to clean the coil pack boots and clean in between the 2 rocker covers, is there a diy on here? the reason i was told to clean is because it is really dirty in there, i had my idle problem fixed but now its a rough idle due to dirty coils and he said i mas aswell calen the whole lot why im there! cheers
  4. r32 rb25det s2 unopened stock ecu stock turbo front mount 3 inch turbo back exhaust hi/low boost controller on low boost 7psi made 160.9kw atw afr was 10.5 hi boost 10psi made 185.9 kw atw afr was still abit rich could do with a bit more boost dyno'd at dr drift

  6. Is there a diffenence in manual and auto ecu's? i just pulled the kick panel where the ecu is and it has writen on it r33 series 2 auto on it?? just wondering if it matters?

  8. it is a duel stage control, but low is what ever the factory is which is 5psi ( i don't have the solinoide) so i won't go to 7psi! and only the hi setting is adjustable which is set around 9-10 and spikes to 11psi! im not sayen i have a problem, just wondering whether my low setting is correct that is only runs 5psi becouse i don't have the solidnoide? Its a rb25det in a r32 and when the engine was installed they didn't put in the solinoide (which is kinda a pain) i wouldnt need a boost control i would be happy with 7-8psi after 4500rpm's
  9. i installed a boost guage, on low it only goes up to 4-5psi i thought as soon as i added the duel stage it would just b set at 7psi all the time? on hi it fine goes straight to 10psi not a poblem! from what i had read in the forum the actulaor is set to 5psi untill a certain rpm the goes to 7psi, i must just be using the actulator without the solinoide! so low doesn't go past 5psi?
  10. today i fitted a after market boost guage ( easy install thanks to the diy ), i have a Hi/low switch on hi its boost's to 10psi but on low it is on factory setting 5psi, but after 4500rpm it doesn't go up to 7-8psi? is that cause i have the hi/low and i think i have no solinoide? would this be correct And another thing it sounds funny on 10psi,the sound is the the turbo its really loud, like ummm how do i put it... Wooooooooo but loud if that makes any sense at all? sorry if that sounds stupid i hardly use the hi switch, i just used it coz i noticed how low boost actually was! maybe i should just get rid of hi/low and just run a T boost contrl set to 8psi or so? sorry for the stupid post cheers
  11. so, rb20 won't fit on my rb25! bugga can u get a cover that fits rb25 but doesn't have rb25 on it? im after one that has no markings on it at all!
  12. At the moment i have NO cam gear cover and im wondering if they are all interchangable? lets say rb20 onto rb25 or rb25 onto rb20? cheers
  13. After replaceing the pipe it's seems to recover boost after each gear!
  14. found out when i pulled it apart that there was 3 different size rubber pipes to the metal intake pipe, what a mess! all fixed now, used a radiator hose with the right bends in it! worked fantastic
  15. it's been like it for ages. i just didn't think it would matter! but i have a hose and it will be fixed 2moz morn!
  16. It's an easy fix, just need to replace it! The hole is bout 2-3mm, it's just after the bov
  17. As above, just wondering if it would effect anything?? It's the rubber pipe between the bov and the metal pipe that goes back into the intake??
  18. i have recently swaped my pod the stock airbox, i have since noticed that im saving fuel?
  19. wouldn't i use more fuel in high boost then low boost? i uses low boost most of the time to save a lil fuel! or doesn't it matter being in high or low boost with fuel usage? im thinken about changen the boost control to a different duel stage, one that i can hav a low setting lets say 8psi and high 11psi cheers
  20. i have read through the diy section about the high boost mode with the standard solanoid, it says if you have a boost control to stop reading. i have a duel stage boost control (hi low) i have set high to 11psi and low is set to factory does that mean it is still running 5psi untill it get to 4500rpm then 7-8psi after that? or since i have added a boost controler it just runs the 7-8psi all the time?? its a turbosmart high low boost control!
  21. what is detonation, what does it sound like and feel like? just asking because i have never had it happen or never been in anyone's car when it has happened! i would just like to know what to look and listen out for!
  22. yeh its worth putn the airbox in, doesn't effect performance at all its just quiet! u doen get the BOV noise like u do with a pod on!
