RB25det manual gearbox was going to be put in my car but i need the cash. comes with loom, shifter, flywheel and tail shaft. $800 Pick up Kingaroy Qld 4610 or courier
-
All sorted. Emanage adapter harness had issue with the plug. Bypassed cas ref straight onto wire and all good
-
A mate has purchased one 2nd hand and for some reason with his harness plugged in the revs on the software are not working. I have tried my harness and its ok. the revs seem to stay at zero than jump to 14287 or -6000 things like that. i have checked the cas wiring and its ok going to the emanage unit is there any particular other wires on that loom i should check more thourghly? Sorry for the spelling

R33 Gts-T Rb25Det Auto Aftermarket Ecu
Kenna802 replied to GREENXC's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Its R33 so more issues with Nistune -
I would be double checking your connection. What do u mean squash it on? If the connection is deformed chances are it is earthing out. It would by rights have an insulator in that connection at the alternator.

Why did it blow?

Was that timing or Afr's? If so what was wrong Too lean Or 2 Advanced

R33 Gts-T Rb25Det Auto Aftermarket Ecu
Kenna802 replied to GREENXC's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Piggy back Ecu. I use an Emanage Ultimate. Although any hope for decent numbers will be a no no. Mine managed 220rwkws but it has issues. Same mods as mine a manual car will have about 60 rwkws more. -
Help! Fresh Rebuilt, Misfiring And Suddenly Cut Off
Kenna802 replied to Mitsuboost30's topic in General Maintenance
I willing to bet that the timing belt is way too tight. Rule number 1 always never reuse the timing belt. If its like your fuel its sat there for a year as well. Setting base timing is different to adjusting timing when the car is running. Base timing is the three marks ( intake cam, exh cam and on Crankshaft) There are 3 notches you must set these to. To set tension of timing belt you must adjust the idler tensioner until its slightly lose and than spin the motor with the belt on a few times and the adjuster will go into the location that is correct for it. Tighten the adjuster and spin the crank a few times to make sure belt doesnt skip or the tensioner does not move. After that and fingers crossed no other damage has happened you reinsert the Cas and time it for 15 degress btc. I really hope you have not done any other damage as im guessing bent valves exhaust side :( -
I think he is looking for big blokes that like being covered in grease......

I ran 18psi with metal head gasket and it let go. I had the head refaced and the mechanic assured me it was ok but it went within 2000km i redid head again and put standard in did work myself and its been good for about 5000 kays now

To keep this thread on track I wonder if Hypergear and Scotty NM35 join forces to start making a bolt on package together that you can buy your turbo and custom made air intake piping etc so that u have everything you need straight up to get the car. After all if hypergear gets a few made up it should be able to reduce the price for customers.
-
Ok than can anyone make one up four inch and reduce to 3 inch ( Scotty ). It has to be three for the afm
-
That 80mm one would it suit a atr43g3 ???? I want something that would allow standard air box connection with plumb back for both retic and oil breather

I had an issue where when I was cruising for some distance my tune was running rich and fouling plugs. Around town was fine but any highway use it was playing up next day on cold start. I backed the map off only slightly on that fuel cell and it has fixed the problem. Just thought i would mention that sounds it could be the same
-
For Sure !! Dont think i will worry as there is another upgrade for my hypergear turbo that allows boost on quicker but im just glad we managed to find it.

After a bit of research it seems 4 degrees retarded would be the way to go for the exhaust cam on a rb25det
-
So can anyone else tell about this? "3.5 to 4 degree retarded from memory" there was a figure i read but i had been looking for it for days with no luck
-
Thanks for that . I corrected the timing my self when i replaced the head gasket and made sure everything lined up and triple checked before i turned the key. As i said car did give me a lot more lag. I did read somewhere about the adjustable cam gear and them bringing boost on earlier but it was some time ago.

Rb25/30 Water Pump Which One To Use
Kenna802 replied to MRHD66's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
If it an RB30 Block wouldnt you use an RB30 water Pump or hi flow unit? -
Hi All Just a quick question about cam timing. When i got the motor rebuilt the Exhaust cam was 2 teeth out in Advance, This caused the turbo to boost alot earlier on but caused missfire up at top end. I have a rb25det with ATR43G3 installed. I noticed once i reinstalled the timing back to normal Turbo has lost alot of response. I have read in alot of previous comments about cam gears and saw somewhere that the intake\exhaust cam gear advanced\retarded XX Degrees help bring on power earlier but didnt increase top end. Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this. Yes i know i will need a re tune but any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I ended up trying the Castrol Edge 5w-40 and have to say im quite impressed. Motor does sound quieter than the Royal Purple 10W-40 i was using at cold start. I have a batch of Motul 5W-40 for the next change to see if the different viscosity was the contributing factor to running smoother when cold. On a side note most of our mornings here are under 10°Cn and getting colder.
