Chris's Lancer IS an EVO I - It has the GSR badges on it as it's a GSR, not the RS (ie, it's got climate control air and the bigger brakes etc whereas the RS spec comes with no Air, stock brakes, steel rims etc as these things are always replaced when racing/rallying..) his nick on performance forums is "itsnotagsr" - because everyone asks him "Is that a GSR or an Evo ?" 6 out of 6 wet skid pan events certainly helped them climb the ladder.. No, I didn't end up sending them any of my pics because they paid their own camera dude to come down and take the pics for them and it would have been stupid to pay all that money to him and then not use them.. BUT I have had a lot of requests for images so far in quite a few publications.. So far Hot Fours Magazne Manly Daily, Daily Telegraph, Saturday Telegraph CARS Liftout section, Mosman Daily, Western Weekender, Wentworth Courier and a couple of manufactuers media releases But by far the write up has been Boxer's effort in Fast Fours I can't wait for the Victorian event now.......
-
I was lucky enough to see the final draft for the Fast Fours Magazine article today... You two guys get a good rap from boxer and an awesome photo of the Skyline in action... 6 Pages in all covering the event - hits the newstands on or about the 16th July I think.. This is one Fast Fours EVERYONE should buy !!!!

My neighbour has just bought himself a new car and is getting rid of his trusty old Gemini. This car has been in the same family for over 21 years, and has about 128,000 genuine km TE Gemini SLX Sedan Automatic 1.6 Litre Full Cloth trim Overall condition it looks not bad Paint work is typical for a gemini of this age - faded and dull in a few areas with a little bit of rust here and there which is in the typical areas for Geminis Currently registered, but expires on the 14th April 2004 Motor / Gearbox and Diff are all in excellent condition and has always been very reliable. His work required him to travel interstate quite often, so this was used to get him to and from the airport where it was just parked until he flew home. In his own words, "I could jump in it today and drive it to Brisbane and back without any trouble.. It just looks a bit untidy that's all" He will take $500 and it would be worth that in spares alone. Anyone interested - send me a PM and I will pass on your details. Car is located Northern Beaches area of Sydney
-
Thanks to all those that replied via PM etc. I have found a set for $220 at a wrecker in Brisbane. (They also had a set of R32 GTR Calipers for $330 which was tempting, but I am not sure if they will fit my intended application...)

No, It's not QuikTrak, this is a GPS based system. I am not allowed to say who it it publically as the new and existing dealer network would get mighty pissed off if they knew the company was giving dealer prices to individuals. Naturally, if you are definitely interested, you will be given all the details once prices are finalised.. But it is requested you don't go around advertising the special deal. The company is new to Australia, but they are using equipment from one of the largest vehicle tracking companies in the world. Monitoring would be handled locally, by a Third party monitoring company. They are looking to get it's name out there quickly and they asked me to guage interest in car clubs etc. A word of self monitored systems.. Ezytrak is a cheaper system sure - there are quite a few systems like this that are out there and there is a reason for their low cost. Self monitored systems are not all 100% insurance approved by most companies. What if your phone battery is flat, or turned off for an important meeting or the movies or visiting someone in hospital etc, what if you forget your phone or you sleep through the SMS notification and your car is stolen - who is going to call the police or get a security guard to check your vehicle. You can have it call other numbers and so on, but do they have the correct software available to them (that you have to pay extra for) to be able to track the vehicle real time ??? - if you are out at a shopping centre and you get a call from the system to say that your car is stolen - do you have a PC in front of you with the correct software installed to be able to track the vehicle, what are you going to tell the police - between constantly SMSing back and forth to the car every 30-40 secs to get updates - what are you going to give the Police - The Last known / current suburb and GPS co-ordinates ?? - Not much help to the police when they use street names and landmarks to identify the location. Even if you had a detailed map in front of you, with Latitude and Longitude listed - how long will it take to read the SMS, translate the co-ordinates and then tell the Police where it is (or should I say "WAS") a couple of minutes ago....
-
Depending upon serious interest - I might be able to get a really good deal on some vehicle security tracking systems. They usually retail for around $2,000 - $2,200 depending on the vehicle - (installed and incl. first years monitoring). but I might be able to save around $500 off that, depending on how many are ordered. If you chose to have it installed yourself - there would probably be even more savings... full details are yet to be provided... I am not looking to make anything out of these - I think that around $50 from each unit sold would be donated to SAU for bandwidth costs etc I know that $1500-$1700 is not something have just lying around, so this can be planned for a future date, to allow people to save up etc. At this stage, just looking for expressions of interest on who would like one, or who is looking to get one fitted in the near future anyway...
-
Thanks, but no thanks..... A bit ouside what I am prepared to pay.

Anyone with a set of R33 GTS Calipers they are looking to sell ?? I don't need rotors - just the Calipers.. if you have some to sell, let me know how much you want for them.... TA
-
You may well be correct. The Friday/Sat/Sun is the 6th-8th - so Anthony probably got it wrong - Apologies to anyone misled.. When I spoke to Anthony last night, he told me those dates, but said double check with Sam on the Vic dates. I won't call Sam at the moment as he is going to be hell busy this weekend with The Porsche Mt Buller Sprint..
-
I was just speaking to Anthony Moss (NSW Director) today and he said that he already had nearly half the field confirmed for this years event. There has been no advertising or promotion of this years event, (they have been concentrating on the Porsche Mt Buller Sprint (on this weekend) and the response and confirmation has been enormous so far. NSW Event 4th to 6th June 2004 VIC Event 8th to 10th August 2004 Official NSW launch will be in the next couple of weeks and the website will be updated etc. - so make sure you get in early as they will start to flood in as advertising starts and more people become aware of the event. www.duttonrally.com www.duttonrallyphotos.com

Sorry, yes, I did not word it right... any infringements regarding use of a calibrated device are prima facie law (ie, they are right, you are wrong, unless you can prove they misused the device, even then, they can still hammer you. Have a look at a book called "Under the Radar" - very good if you want to defend yourself in court against a prima facie case. www.roadsense.com.au is also very good resource. I still stand by my second comment to get good legal advice - as has been shown many times - it's the little things that are said and questioned, that mean the difference between winning and losing in court.
-
Incorrect. Traffic convictions come under "Prima Facie" law - and therefore You have to prove your innocence, not the usual way around for criminal convictions. That is why you have to go to court to protest your innocence, rather than the police drag you to cout to prove your guilt. If you are in a situation like this - get some serious legal advise, find out your rights and responsibilities and carefully work out your options... for some, it's not worth fighting - for others it is.

The Roman Autotek R32 GT-R was a green one - it was not a Factory Green colour though.. (this is probably the one BIGBLOCK is talking about) as Bob never registered it for quite some time... it spent quite a few years getting fanged around tracks as a pace/safety car before the MOMO Falcon took over the duties. There is one other that i was aware of, which has been sold many moons ago and it was quite considerably worked - it was owned by Rod Markland from memory...

Pete, How drunk were you when you called me ??? I said I would have loved to havce done the video for you, but I have sold all my video camera equipment.... I said I would be happy to come out and take photos, but as far as video goes, I can't as I no longer have the equipment to do it as I am concentrating more on stills now. I do have most of my professional editing suite, although it's all up for sale and dismantled and packed away now...
