Mark, If you get stuck, then I might be able to come to your rescue, (I live on the Northern Beaches) - if you can make it to Blacktown station, or one of the North Shore line stations I can pick you up there, - dropping you off at Livo shouldn't be a problem though, just getting up earlier in the morning probably will be -
Yes Valiant, Unfortunately NO system is foolproof.

The Original GODZILLA is coming out to play again. Make NO mistake, this IS the actual race car that won Bathurst in 1991 and 1992 - lovingly repaired and restored by Gibson Motorsport and now owned by one of the nicest blokes you would ever meet. He is committed to showcasing the Gibson Collection - so lets all show our appreciation and come and have a look. When : SUNDAY 8th September 2002 Where : - ORAN PARK Why : - Because the Owner wants all Nissan fans to be able to enjoy the car and see it (and hear it) in the flesh - And because he wants to go for another drive no doubt. Be there or be a Skoda lover ** NOTE ** This is a privately organased Track day thru Unique Auto Sports at Castle hill, so contact them if you need futher information about times and costs etc (I think Spectators would be free) If you have never heard this race car in action, or seen it in the flesh - HERE IS YOUR CHANCE

I will be selling the Quik Trak when the other system gets installed. I have alreay been offered $750 for it, so I'll see what happens.. Can't say too much - but it will be Sattelite based, and not Tower based like QT. (nOt that that is a problem for me in the sydney Metro area, I just want to get a sattelite system and this new model will be available soon ( final testing phase) If this new system is as good as they say - I will try and arrange for some special skylinesaustralia and performance forums members prices etc. - Stay Turned..

You are best to call the company now and let them know of the claim. Whilst you will not be penalised generally for a delay of a month or so, (technically you have up to 7 years to formally lodge a claim) but you will be asked to provide a suotable reasone why you waited so long if you took full advantage of your rights. Your Mother (as the insured) will have to formally lodge the claim and sign the claim form etc (if you company still uses paper based claim forms etc) but it won't hurt to nitify them of the incident/accident and that when your mother returns from o/s you will have her lodge a formal claim etc..

Pics here also... http://www.infctd.net/pf/180802/ Big thanks to Darren (CressidaV8 from Performanceforums.com) who came to the rescue and supplied the required 1" drive 600 ft/lb torque wrench needed to tighten the wheel nut on each wheel. ( these tools are about $1800 each, hence they are not in your average tool kit) in full race trim, they used to tighten the nuts to about 800 ft/lb of torque ( yes, that's LOTS) Terry told me if it was raining also that we wouldn't be taking it out (remember the last time it was driven on a race track, in the rain what happened ( refer Bathurst 1992 video) ) - understandably, Terry did not want to damage the car. I didn't get there until it was just going out, so didn't get to install the camera after all.... there is always NEXT time It will be on the track again shortly - (not sure if it is for public knowledge yet) - but as soon as it's announced I will let you knwo

Apologies guys, I wanted to come - but unfortunately seeing as I had to borrow the g/f's car - she had other plans - so had no transport

I have had a AA02 fitted to my car (since removed) and the only thing I could complain about is not so much the "range", but the time taken to arm and disarm etc. I now have a quik trak installed and very shortly this too will be removed and replaced with an even better system in about a month. I am not saying either of these systems are bad, or failed in anyway - but I take vehicle security quite seriously and get to test out and try new systems when they are released and updated etc,

OK, Good news...... The GT-R (as well as at least 5 other Group A / Group C cars will be there..) The Bad news The GT-R will NOT be able to do parade laps due to the fact that the person who has the special size wheel brace, has taken it interstate with them, and nothing else they have will fit. The lock nuts on the car at the moment are not OK to drive on (they are the tie down hoops only) so it would be dangerous to take the GT-R out under those conditions - sorry guys.. It will still be a great day regardless - and I will still be out there....

Majanal, yes, in some instances there can be a proportion of blame - or "contributory negligence" - once again, even Contributory Negligence must be proven in a court of law for blame to be proportioned.

Sometimes I wonder why I bother...... Can you PROVE that they failed to provide REASONABLE security ?? - if you can't - you can not hold them responsible. - and neither will the Law. Look up the word "reasonable" in the dictionary. The panel shop IS NOT liable if they took all reasonable care to protect your car. By your comments - this means that if a plane falls out of the sky and crushes the building, that the workshop is responsible because they didn't house the car in a nuclear fallout shelter 30M below ground ??? Hey Duncan, Yes, you can do this one of two ways. Depending on your policy wording - if it says you have Faultless Excess and Faultless NCB - (ie, you don't pay if you can identify the guilty party) then the first option is to have your insurance company reimburse you the excess and re-instate your NCB (and increased premiums) as you now fulfilled their criteria for naming the at fault / negligent or responsible party (see a trend here with liability and recovery here guys). I can see them probaly agreeing to the Excess, but probably not the premium increases as those periods of insurance are over - but you might be lucky. the 2nd option is to take civil action against the charged individual/s if the recovery of excess and premiums is outside the policy wording of your company. give me a call if you need to discuss in greater detail - otherwise see you at Wakefield

Yes, 6 individual points are immobilised. Ie, Fuel Pump, Injectors, Starter Motor, Ignition Power, Coil/Spark, ECU etc If you vehicle doesn't have all of these, they can immobilise one or more circuits more than once. As for the WRX STi Anti Car Jacking system, - I won't explain what trips them or how they work on a public forum, suffice to say that they catch a few people out when they are not used to it, or forget what they have to do. If the normal "reset" didn't work, chances are there may have been a wire lose or a faulty component causing your father some greif. Laserline doesn't ring a bell to me. -
Hi Shell, Not sure about any Sierras. There are a couple in the Club (Historic Group C and Group A Racing club) - the ex-Seton PJ Sierra I have seen at one or two events before. I am sure they are all invited, just not sur if the sierra owners will be there. Not 100% sure on price - knowing Eastern Creek, it will probably be about $15 to $20 I would guess. I must mention, last year there were historic bus rides too ( yes, I lapped EC in a 1940's double decker bus) Give Estern Creek a call for full details.

Hey guys, I have a contact that can do shirts and caps and jackets and jumpers and the whole lot (cups, pens, keyrings, sportsbags and more) at awesome prices. This company has done my own personal supply of shirts / jackets / Caps and embroidery for my own company, as well as The Nissan SVD club and I am just about to order the first batch for www.performanceforums.com. Once you have settled on a logo etc, let me know and I will ask her to get a couple of sample garments done so people can have a look and make their decision. Cheers Jason

Exactly. Whilst no one can ever guarantee yoour vehicle won't go missing, the more barriers you provide, the greater likelyhood that the theif will give up and move on. All but the most determined professional would probably give up trying to deal with a 6 point immobiliser annd tracking system. The trouble is, rather than being petty car thieves. they turn into car jackers as they can not get the car by normal "traditional" methods. - this is an entirely different problem where your saftey becomes an issue - trackers are the only weapon here with any success. Check the link I posted above to quik trak's recoveries and you'll see what I mean. Anything you can do to make it harder and therefore take longer, to steal your car means a greater chance of it being there when you get back. Ie, Clublocks, whilst some are easily overcome, if a theif has to deal with a internal siren, clublock and immobilisation circuit or three, chances are he will move onto the one without the clublock - it's "one less problem" that the theif has to deal with in a busy car park. -

NRB, No, not in the Security industy, but work close with it Brant make great alarms/immobilisers, make no mistake about that, whether it is worthwile really depends on how much you want to protect your car. Brant are at the "top of the tree" when it comes to vehuicle security, so some of their units cost a little more than others, and to some the extra security is well worth it. Not sure about the Nemisis2/Tracker. Give Brant a call, (02) 9712-5522. I havn't received any info from them for a while actiually, I will follow up on it. One thing I really like about Brant is that they don't let just anyone install their systems. To me, this shows that they care about the product and their reputation, and don't let just anyone have a chance of ruining that thru poor installation or taking short cuts. I wish more companies took this approach, looking at some of the systems available at the moment and the very poor installations i come across. Disclaimer:, I do not work for any of the companies mentioned here, nor do I receive any payments from them for praising or promoting their products.
