  1. got mine from supercheap...it was called "metal steel something..." Make sure its heat and fuel resistant. Comes in a long tube...and its like play dough...u have to mash it up to mix the compounds to me it react and bond.
  2. Its most likely your fuel filler neck. Look here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...c=94640&hl= Or here: 1. Have a look at your petrol cap and give it a wriggle and see if it moves around. If it does then, 2. Unscrew the cap and grab the metal filler neck, probably brass colour, see if this moves around. If so (like mine) you definately proceed to step 3. Otrhewise, if you can see evidence of vapour or spillga aroung it you can also say it needs doing. (A visual inspection should tell you if it is the problem. 3. Remove the filler neck assembly. Mine took no effort at all as it was held by a couple of dabs of a compound that went hard and, therefore, brittle. 4. Once removed, clean the surfaces of the neck that mate with the wide mouth that is left in the side of the car and clean this area too. 5. Apply a continuous bead of Sikaflex around the area of contact. 6. Position the filler neck in its final position and push it home. Good luck.
  3. don't drink n drive...ur a bloody idiot! and I'll give u $10 for the GTR wheels with rubber if they are gutter rash free
  4. Firstly do you frequently go up driveways on an angle? Reason I ask is, if you lower ur fronts where the guards meet the tyres with 235/40 at the fronts it will scrape the inner rear guards at full lock going up driveways. I had this problem and raised my car to about 350mm at the front (center wheel to guard) and solved the problem. To answer ur question about cheapest way to lower...replacement king/whiteline springs would be your best option. But depending on how worn your shocks are, you would be best investing in SKs bilstein/whiteline kit. No point having nice big wheels with good tyres and shitty suspension.
  5. Have a quick read on these claims by Apexi: Lighter, more efficiency, more power, more durability. These are just some of the ongoing goals of our exhaust system division. We firmly believe that the exhaust system is one product on the vehicle that should never be compromised. A premium exhaust system should, when possible, be used from the start to avoid any premature changes a few years later. Many new engines have been engineered extremely well and hastily developed systems have been shown to actually lose power. APEX exhaust specialists toil long hours in the art of exhaust gas flow. Every category of manufacturing is analyzed including CAD design, materials, welding quality, exhaust gas dynamics, engine compatibility, and real world use. Our exhaust systems are considered one of THE standards in our industry. Proven quality outlasts anything else. Experience the standard of quality that tens of thousands of satisfied customers already have. All A'PEX exhaust systems comply with applicable emission laws since they neither modify nor relocate the required factory emission control devices; they are considered "direct replacement" parts. Such parts do not require a CARB Executive Order (EO) since they are not "add on" or "modified" parts. A'PEX exhaust systems are "functionally identical" to the OEM parts during emission tests. Sound levels are tested on stock vehicles before the product release to ensure compliance with the 95dB limit.
  6. Ok guys....putting power aside.. Has anyone thought about the quality/workmanship the jap ones have over your cheap china copies? How long before the muffling capabilities break down in the cheaper versions?? I had a local "supercat" stainless muffler before and it started rusting after less than 6 mths... What materials they use inside their mufflers? its not just a steel barrel with glass wool packed in it?? Power gains while minimal is not the only thing debated. here...
  7. yeah the 452s rock for the $$ I paid... Glad u like them!
  8. check this set out: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...963&hl=volk You can find used sets of Veilside Andrews on yahoo auctions but hard to find the size and offsets to fit perfectly on a GTT
  9. for track/drag yeah maybe...for everyday street...No...and if i'm not mistaken is probably illegal as well...ring a tyre shop and they'll confirm. 235 or 245 is the max I'd go on 8" wide rims for everyday driving.
  10. The check engine light will normally come on intermittently or continously...
  11. I'm always keen for a photoshoot! But will have to depend on time, date and place. Have a wife thats due in two weeks, so will need to see once you finalise the above.
  12. Not recommended. Assuming you're talking about 255/40/17 tyres, recommended wheel width is 8.5 - 10 inch.
  13. CES are comparable to Jap brands in some cases better. They have been tried and tested...thats why they cost an arm and a leg.
  14. they are probably overpriced so they have room to move when discounting...take in 28K cash and see what they say
  15. more pics taken today...wheels are off and ready for sale. Gives u an idea of the dish at the fronts and rear
  16. Which States Law are u quoting? In QLD it is illegal to fit spacers of any kind unless they come factory...which apparently some euro sports cars do. Insurance companies will insure you for anything from an engine conversion to an FMIC install...but try telling them you run spacers???
  17. Opps sorry I was thinkin insurance...yeah regos around $600+ p/yr Series 2 have a different front end...but to double check all you need to do is check out the interior. S2 have the 2 tone steering wheel & gearknob (silver/black) and silver faced gauges..the neo cover on the S2 does not have the TURBO lettering in RED as well...
  18. Sounds fairly reasonable coming from a dealer. Although being a 2000 model I believe it is still a Series 1. Pros: - Sunroof - reasonable mileage (if you choose to believe it) - Few mods - 12 mth rego (around 1.2k) - 12 mth warranty (depending on what they cover) - 24 hr roadside assist (about $80/yr) - Manual Probably could still be bargained down around 2k depending on how desperate they are. Best to test drive it and get it mechanically checked out. If you look hard enough there are plenty with similar specs going from 25K +
  19. You might wanna check in with the Mods (Prank) before posting as a business/trader. Otherwise check this site out. They have an OZ section and also OZ based classifieds section. Might get more exposure there. http://www.350z-tech.com/forums/
  20. yes +30 means they will sit out further, but does not mean it will clear ur calipers. To determine that, you will need to find out what disk type the spokes are...ie: O disk, A disk or R risk. You can have two wheels with identical offsets and widths but if one is O disk and the other is A, you probably find the O disk won't clear. This is normally located on the sticker or stamped on the inside of the spokes. If that info is not available anywhere, the only way to find out is a test fit Refer to pic below: Assuming they clear the calipers, 18x8 +30 should sit nicely within the guards on a GTST. I learnt this through going through various diff jap offsets and wheels and having 4 pot calipers on the front for GTT brakes makes it that much harder to determine whether a wheel will fit or not.
