  1. Depends on what width rims you get. If you are planning on getting a staggered set ie 17x8 fronts, 17x9 rears then 235s on the front and 265 on the rears. If you are getting a wheel with the same widths all round then the same tyre profile all round ( positive side is you can rotate ur wheels and tyres ) A lot of Skyline owners get staggered sets nowadays with wider rims for the rear, better traction for rwd obviously
  2. Heh, afro! You knew I was talking about u
  3. This is my temp reading while driving down the Gold Coast sitting at 110km/h for bout 30 mins on a freakin warm day. I'm assuming its normal. When I get back down to 60-70km/h it drops back down to around 90ish degrees.
  4. All HIDs are illegal as far as I'm aware unless they are ADR approved. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Even the standard xenons on our 34s are illegal!
  5. I know someone with aftermarket HIDs on this forum on their R34 as well and they are way too bright compared to the standard xenons. Not much you can do about them as that is probably the main reason they are illegal. Just make sure you don't drive behind or towards a cop at night.
  6. Here are more fine examples. You can tell white ones are my favourite Welcome to the darkside, may the force be with you!
  7. Ur wheels look shit hot IMO. I'm assuming getting the same wheel in a bigger offset is out of the question. It will probably look slightly better after lowering but with that much camber u are going to chew through ur tyres really quickly. Other option is to get ur guards lipped or flared so you can still lower it without having that much camber dialed in. LAst option would be to choose a different set. Tough choice but good luck with it!
  8. pics please to [email protected] Have you got the offsets? Located in brissie too. Thanks!
  9. I've had my GTT for a year next month. kept it stock all this while, the only costs I have outlayed is in replacing an O2 sensor plus ur normal 5000k services which is oil, filter. I've driven more than 30,000ks over the past year in it and had no problems at all whatsoever *touch wood* I guess all it comes down to is age and condition. newer car less things break if maintained regularly. older car would have more wear and tear, replacing parts can be a pain and that is where most of the costs would be incurred. I don't see any difference in maintainece costs compared to a lancer except with turbo cars u will need to do oil changes more regularly.
  10. can we have a rough idea on pricing? and is it a DIY job once we get them? interested for an R34 GTT
  11. Stan, GTTs have a 65L fuel tank, so you should get another 100Ks plus minus. I get close to 600Ks on mine B)
  12. The best way I have found to gauge fuel consumption is, fill the tank full, reset the odo, run it till almost empty (doesn't have to be when the lights on), when refilling next look at how many litres you need to get back to full then check how many ks you've done. That would be the most accurate way to say how many ks you get per litre.
  13. no one has answered the question yet...what does the charcoal canister do? Mine was unpluged too but I plugged it back on...didn't make any difference with or without....anyone???
  14. sounds good...post some bigger pics! Hang around SAU more, theres a whole lot to learn bout these cars and I can honestly tell you I have learnt more being on here then anywhere else.
  15. That looks really good! Can you let us know what was involved in replacing the stock gauges? What brand gauges u used, cost and what size? Cheers
  16. interested in the rear parcel shelf as well if it comes with the factory speaker grills still attached. $50
  17. compliance workshops should have Child restraints no worries, also the leaking shock....check out the FS section, there are always people selling stock suspension after they have upgraded, they go fairly cheap as no one really needs them unless they are trying to comply a car or make it roadworthy again.
  18. check out the recommended offsets here, click on Nissan. http://www.takakaira.com/rimsandtyres/rimsandtyresindex.asp Also even though you might have the right offset, for an R33, make sure the fronts have high disk clearance otherwise the spokes might hit the calipers.
  19. is the apexi cat back exhaust loud? And might be interested in your boot lid if you were to dismantle it.
  20. Well just when you thought it was safe out there out comes another R34 mutation! Seen it on R33s, Silvias, Stageas...and now this! What do u guys reckon?? R34 mutant
  21. Ummm someone correct me if i'm wrong, the above method is basically to put ur ECU into diagnostics mode....not to reset ur ECU.
  22. Wheels shops would be able to replace the stud for you. Just have to find the right stud. Happened to me before. No big drama, 4 studs should keep you out of trouble but try n get it fixed asap.
  23. As nuffsaid said...disconnect the negative, turn on ur headlights to drain any current thats in the system, leave it for bout 30 mins then reconnect negative terminal back. It won't drain your whole battery. Try it, you will be surprised.
  24. where u located?
  25. That is the market price for dealers obviously they are here to make money. They have higher overheads in maintaining a car yard and most provide some sore of warranty as well...
