  1. We are not bad mouthing the CVT-8 merely warning potential buyers what they are in for. You are forgetting a few things: 1. Porsche owners wages are not in line with V35 owners. If I earned what a Porsche owner earned, I wouldn't have gotten a V35 to start with 2. If the CVT breaks, afaik no one in Australia knows how to repair them or would touch them. They are different to the CVTs found in OZ delivered Nissans. 3. Cost of replacement of a CVT transmission is somewhere the vicinity of 3/4 of the price of the V35 4. There are members on this forum in this situation and their cars have been rendered useless due to the above That is all.
  2. Coupe guards and wheel specs are similar to 350z = massive potential! 9.5 +22 F and 10.5 +22 rears not a problem at all.
  3. Does anyone know if the 5 spd auto uses the same type of oil and if they require the same amount as the CVT? Judging from the above, a full transmission oil change would cost more than 1k including labour!
  4. I think you might be right about the fronts already rolled. I have only rolled my rears. Going 9.5 at the fronts you will have two problems. Too high an offset the inner rim will hit the suspension. Go lower offset and it will stick outside your guards like dogs balls. Check out the chart above. 9" at the fronts would be optimal. You really don't need to go any wider at the fronts or you'll have problems steering the damn thing
  5. You changed your mind about the purchase. Tough luck, he is not obligated to offer you a refund. Taken from the Trade Practices Act: For example, customers have a right to a refund if the previously mentioned implied warranties are not met, and the goods: Have a fault that they could not have known about Do not do the job that they were led to believe they would do Do not match a sample they were shown Are not as they were described. Customer refunds should also be in the same "currency" they paid in. For instance, customers are not entitled to a cash refund if they paid by credit card, instead the credit card should be credited. There are circumstances, however, when business owners are entitled to refuse refunds, credits or exchanges. Under the Act refunds are not required if customers: Change their mind about the purchase Discover they can buy the goods at a cheaper price elsewhere Were told of the defect before purchase.
  6. Pretty sure it will clear brembos based on the below specs: http://translate.google.com.au/translate?u...en&ie=UTF-8 19x10.5 +9 falls under A disk which is big caliper clearance.
  7. Ok firstly, the wheel offset guide I posted above should be your guide as to what fits and what doesn't. I have however managed to achieve a little bit more with slightly more aggresive offsets. Secondly my advise is based on your car being lowered at least 1" all round. If you are lowered more than that you will more likely be able to squeeze in a lower offset wheel. FRONT - Max Offset? Min Offset? 8" rims up to +28 before requiring fender roll 8.5" rims +30 no fender roll 9" rims +35 no fender roll REAR - Max Offset? Min Offset? 8" rims 8.5" rims +33 no fender roll 9" rims +37 no fender roll; +31 fender roll (245 tires) 9.5" rims +40 no fender roll; +35 fender roll 10" rims +45 or + 50 no fender roll If in doubt you can use this calculator to work out how much your new wheels will move toward or from your fender. http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp Ok moving on to brake clearance. If you are buying Jap wheels, Work, Rays, SSRs etc, they usually state disk type Normally denoted by A = Standard disk (will clear factory v35 brakes), O = Super low (fine for the rears), R = Hi Disk for BBK or Brembos If you are planning on upgrading brakes, then it would be in your best interest to buy wheels that have R disk or Hi disk Check this spec sheet as an example: http://www.workwheelsusa.com/media/wheels/26/72/VSKF_PDF.pdf (note wheels with super low brake clearance are normally ones with bigger dish) Finally tire size and profile: Needs to conform to factory Overall Diameter or else it will throw your speedo out. Use 245/45/18 as your base spec. + or - 15mm is OK. Then go to the tyre calculator to work out what you need if you go 17s or 19s http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp If you are planning to run big widths and aggresive offsets, you will also need to choose smaller width tyres to avoid scrubbing eg: rears 245 instead of 265 Disclaimer: The above advise is still fairly conservative with regards to offsets. If you want to dump your ride and run -3 degree camber and stretch 225 tires on a 10" rim you can still achieve most of the below offsets. Hope this helps.
  8. Wow a lot of questions! I'm off to bed now, will answer them tommorow
  9. I did the same recently but it was with Chinese takeaway LOL
  10. 9" +30 or +35 all round is fine for gtt. If you are lowered even better. Plenty of gtts running 34 gtr wheels which are 9" +30 all round. 17s or 18s does not matter it's all determined by width and offset.
  11. I've got both. The 350 definately has more poke than the 300. Got the 300 for the wife as its more a cruiser, still a nice car to drive. Regardsless of Bose I'd still prefer the 350gt anyday. Shop around, the 350 sedans have dropped in price by a fair bit. Source a Series 2 which has the aluminium center console and bose CD/MD instead of CD/Tape. Should be able to pick one up for around 25k or less nowadays.
  12. 1. Buyer beware 2. Common sense 3. Research seller. Check past posts, get an idea of who seller is and whether they are active in the sau community or just here to sell. Trader rating is useful but not full proof 4. Be wary of new sellers with few post counts 5. If it's too good to be true, it often is. 6. Pick up is best but not always possible. If interstate seller keep all corespondence and get as much details where possible of seller Have bought plenty off the forums over the years no problems so far.
  13. Wheels only no tires around 3K Not selling yet unless I find another set so if you're interested let me know

  16. that's correct. Z sway bars also fit V sedans or coupes.
  17. My Iphone works on the Griffin Ipod unit installed by Chris but only for songs. No video or phone capabilities.

  24. Opps sorry, I thought your friend was comin back from the US. Japan site: http://www.japanparts.com/db/category.php?...er=5&car=76 Same parts are cheaper in the US compared to Japan probably because they have more G35s in the US compared to V35s in Japan.
