I don't mind the idea but remember its a saturday and there will be a lot of families travelling this route as well and with a group like ours we are bound to be stuck behind some other car doing 40km/h. Maybe on the way back we could decide this as there are probably a few that are not too keen on the idea and can head back.

Ok. If it comes with a remote then it should have an infra receiver somewhere. Mine was installed my Chris Rogers and the receiver was installed inside where the clock sits. You need to try and turn it on via the remote and make sure you are on cant remember whether it's vtr or tv (one or the other). Yours sounds like a Chris Rogers job too from the sounds of it.

does yours happen to come with a remote to turn the iPod dock on? I've got one of these as well installed in the centre arm rest console and it has a remote to turn it on or off.

V35 Repaint Tips And Suggestions
n15m0 replied to shiva's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
$2K would probably only get u a taxi paint job. i.e.: door jams, engine bay etc untouched. A proper paint full respray would cost you $5K++++++ -
V35 Repaint Tips And Suggestions
n15m0 replied to shiva's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Shiva, have u considered a full car wrap? There are a few ppl who can do this professionally and the outcome could be a lot cheaper and unique opposed to a full respray. Worth considering. -
I wouldn't rely on photo comparisons alone to determine if you are lowered or not. Your springs and shocks could well be tired and sagged a lot more than your mates both being factory suspension. As I mentioned earlier as well, overall wheel diameter could also have an effect, so maybe let us know what tire profiles you are running on your 18s as well. A difference or 10-15mm could give u a slightly lowered look

That was what I was trying to explain to you in your other thread... Definately need a drop on 20s.

mitch if you are willing to spend that kind of money speak with Chris Rogers first. He installed a griffin Ipod dock in my center arm rest console years ago, works with ipod, iphone etc...and displays on the nav screen. Works a treat till today. I will show you on Sat. I believe he has slightly better options now including a streaming bluetooth option which is much better than FM transmited quality.

Before you bite the bullet and get this one you may want to make sure its Australian insurance approved which I highly doubt.

Fs: V35 Gt8 - Transmission Issues
n15m0 replied to dodes47's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
If you are thinking of getting back even close to 10K for it, you are better off selling the parts off individually, etc engine, interior, body parts, suspension etc... Otherwise, $10K for a car that potentially needs a whole new transmission is still quite a gamble for any buyer out there. As far as people who are aware of CVT issues associated with the V35, I would not even buy it for 10K if the CVT was working fine. They are pretty much just a ticking time bomb. -
Personally if we are leaving yatala around 10:45am we should just head straight to pancakes for lunch. Should get there by 11:30am. If we head to point danger we would still need lunch and if we leave lunch till on the way back we would be starving. Might be some of us who need to head back after point danger too and miss pancakes if it was on the way back. Just a thought.

hey Mitch...I was the one that was thinking of buying them...u txted the pics to me. They're a good price for those wheels. I was thinking of getting them while waiting for my new set to arrive in Oct.

This Is How To Measure Your Car For New Wheels
n15m0 replied to Deep Dish V35's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Nice one my wheel whoring started on PG 4 of that thread lol...and more in between...brings back memories... Hey Deep Dish, what specs are u running on ur sedan? Wouldn't mind seeing some photos of another sedan... -
are we going pancakes on the way to tweed or on the way back?

I'm running 8.5 +25 fronts sorta flush lol...I have also ran 8.5 +42 fronts sunken in look but no rubbing. I've posted the below a few times. If you haven't seen it here it is again. The below is for a vehicle on standard suspension so on a lowered car, you can stretch the maximums a bit further. Max I have run at the rears are 9.5 +30 lowered on Z suspension, pokes out a bit on 245s

Yeah keypad on the window is asking for trouble.

resale value on jap wheels are definately a lot better than the rest but given the current market its hard to sell anything at the moment. Type of wheel, specs and condition play a big part in resale. Some you pick up at a bargain and make a bit others you break even or lose a bit. All depends how desperate you are to sell etc.. I've been trying to kick the habit but something good always comes up

Its one thing for the cops to have this info but where would the average driver obtain this info? there are tire placards to specify correct tires/profile to use but where would one go to find out the max track specification? I would fight that defect tooth and nail.
-
Wheel track is probably a grey area and a lot easier to get away with IMO for QLD anyways it states: "the track of a car can be increased by up to 26mm beyond the MAXIMUM specified by the vehicle manufacturer for the particular model of the vehicle" I have never seen any specifications for this and assume factory track is not the maximum specified. As long as the wheels and tires don't protrude outside the guard you should be safe.
-
Stance is the look which you are trying to achieve by having your wheels closer or flush to the guards. Does not necessarily require camber, its just a "look" you are after. Qld transport rules are pretty clear on the use of spacers. PG 19 http://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/~/media/c792a0c9-92b1-43ee-933b-7bdd8b20842f/pdf_modification_motor_vehicles2.pdf Most people who fit spacers are aware of the risks and are prepared for the consequences. I'm just making you aware.
-
If you are planning to use spacers to get the stance you want, just be aware they are highly illegal. Instant defect if caught and will also void your insurance in the event of a claim.
