Sorry, should have been more clear, didnt mean it was one of the first brought here but wasnt there some 15 year rule where they couldnt be registered here until they were 15 years old because NISSAN sold them here locally? So what I meant was, it was the earliest year to register a 32 here... Anyway, what are these purple plates? Are they just engraved like the blue mod plate or are they stamped like a Compliance Plate? Cheers.
-
Hi all, heres my situation... I bought a 32 GTR from QLD, came with RWC, Registered etc etc etc I get it here to SA and take it for its 'I.D.' check yesterday...im told by these clowns at Transport SA that the Blue QLD Mod Plate is not considered a Compliance plate and therefore I have to apply for an Exemption from fitting a Compliance Plate and the car has to undergo a full inspection not just a simple ID check...more $$$ and have to raise it up etc etc etc...pain in the ass. The car was one of the first lot brought into to Aust being an 89 model...it was issued its QLD mod plate in March 2004, 'Awesome Imports' is the business on the plate and the letter I have from QLD Transport is addressed to Dominic Bonasia... My question is, does QLD still issue these blue mod plates to IMPORTED VEHICLES (I know theyre issued for modified cars) or are they issuing proper Compliance Plates now? Im told there was a rule change at some point, appears after my car was complied...can I get a plate made up??? All the numbers match there is no problems there at all, its just they will not recognise the QLD mod plate ffs.. Any info appreciated.

Need a 32 GTR factory FPR, let me know if have one, cheers. Edit - Or if anyone can suggest an alternative, the S15 Sr one looks very similar???
-
It was actually connected just in front of the throttle body so it only read boost...couldnt be assed t-ing into fpr line and S15 have very few places to hook into...it def showed positive boost pressure on the gauge between gears (like 8-10psi) which would suggest that it held boost in the piping without the BOV?
-
One thing I did notice when I stuck a Mount Franklin lid in the BOV return on my S15 to get this 'hectik dose' was that the boost gauge would maintain a positive boost reading between gears...I notice with BOVs active, the gauge returned to 0"hg....
-
Probably doesnt have AFMs...lol.
-
NYTSKY, is that a 'dose pipe' I see hanging off the front of that nice sized single? Assuming thats your motor in your avatar?
-
Too true...add to that shuddering/surging on throttle lift offs...will give him a week before he has the factory BOV reconnected.... Hecctik...
-
Amen.
-
Yes, indeed they are, so please address it with your mate that couldnt make his point without refering to me as 'simple minded'...
-
Simple? Sigh...You never said anything in relation to the style of dumps you had only that you had an extremely free flowing exhaust and that boost was climbing above and beyond the desired pressure...how was I to know you bought some shiny wanky split pos dump pipes cause they look hectik which are known to cause boost control issues? Explain yourself clearly in future perhaps...you could have easily said I removed my split dumps as they were causing boost issues. Are your eyes painted on or are you just simply ignoring the results STATUS posted? More than 60nm gain in the mid range? Right where a small capacity 6 cylinder moving 1.5 tonne of car really needs all the torque it can get? How on earth is that an 'absolute waste of money' you imbecile? Im not about to waste my money on shiny things ffs but credit where its due, the right a/m exhaust will allow you to make more power and torque than its factory equivalent...Its your choice if you wanna do sh1t on a budget and you clearly feel the need to justify that choice? Regardless, the results are back one page for all to see.
-
'Mate', i'll post wtf I like, dont like it, dont read it...and as above in BOLD, thats not what he said at all? Status just posted results which showed 60+nm of torque through the midrange...how is that not a worthwhile gain or justification for spending the money.... In relation to the stock stuff, you have someone posting that the fitment of 34 dumps cured their uncontrolable boost issues due to the free flowing nature of the exhaust...that clearly says that the stock dumps are restrictive... You mention common sense, as I already said, go blow through a straw and a garden hose. Simple logic, not rocket science is it.

Pics of cannons mate.... -
Thankyou for educating me on the ways of the forumz all seeing all hearing all typing.... So as above, you were there for each and every single one of these DOZENS of runs or have viewed them ALL with your own eyes? Part of a research project was it? Just incase at some point down the track you entered into an internet discussion on the very topic...lol. Well, please feel free to explain what you meant by making the same power? Please clarify. ...it was sarcasm regarding the dumps...and no, I have never read you say they could be 32 or 33 dumps, have only been on the forum 'posting' a few months, didnt take long to realise what a know it all you are, remember the fuel economy thread?
-
Post edit? Quote me next time then if it bugs you that much, I only added, didnt remove anything.... 'At this stage its good information'....Lol....no sh1t hey? Better than all the hearsay youve posted?... Seriously, have you ever admitted youre wrong in your entire life? You must be an only child....lol. Heres what you said...you said the power was identical before and after suggesting 'peak power' no mention of mid range response until...you went on to say you know the car very well and you could FEEL NO DIFFERENCE in ramp up or response..... As for your dump pipes, werent you going to go down to your mate at NISSAN and get me the magical part numbers or something? Didnt you order them yourself? Seems all of a sudden youre backpedaling....'maybe mine are 33 dumps'.....?
-
34kw and [email protected] fat gains there...certainly nothing to sneeze at...thanks for sharing. Genuinely interested to know nismoid what your thoughts are on this as it seems to fly in the face of the DOZENS of cars you know of that returned the same results regardless of dumps... It does however seem to confirm your peak power claim but contradicts your seat of the pants dyno claims in terms of response...would like to see the results after half a dozen full power runs, not just one...im sure the difference would continue to increase with the extra heat and combustion temps generated by the restrictive factory dumps...
-
Touche...but lets assume, for arguments sake, that like stock vs a/m dumps, the lengths of the straw and the hose are very similar.
-
Im talking about repeated pulls which would more closely replicate the real world, like what would happen on the track, not a one off dyno pull mate... Anyway, go blow through a straw...then go blow through a garden hose...

Help Needed- Newly "finished" Turbo Install
NSNPWR replied to l_uk3y's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
So whats the problem? As others have covered, aside from the smoke which I would say considering youve been handling your dump etc with oily hands is quite normal...I would let it run for a while, dont be afraid of it, let the smoke burn off, it will, might take a while, just monitor water temp on pfc and check the timing asap... -
If we were comparing 2 identical cars, high temps would be a result of excessive back pressure or poor flow....thats wtf it has to do with it. Nismoid, what part of his comment do you agree with? The part to do with the fact he disagreed with what I posted? And im not asking you to change dumps, im just saying that your ONE OFF peak power dyno pull comparison is not the only issue to consider here. Seems to me if youre using it, its the bollocks, if youre not, its not needed... Tell me again how sh1t my fuel economy is please oh wise one....lol.
-
Whats wrong with the X-Force stuff? For the money?.....
-
So in your absolutely ridiculously over exaggerated examples above, these 'DOZENS' of cars are running identical boost, ignition maps, cam timing, fuel mixtures...cmon man, get your hand off it ffs... No 2 cars are the same, agreed, the basic principles remain the same regardless...more air/fuel in, more exhaust out as quickly as possible... I would like to see a comparison of exhaust temps after repeated thrashing....youre one off dyno reading is fine as long as thats all youre doing in the real world I guess, an occassional 4th gear pull?
