  1. Thanks travm182, I'll contact Chris.
  2. I have a 2002 V35 350GT sedan and the radio/CD etc and the climate control system are not working. It was happening intermittantly about once a week or so but now does not work at all. It would shut down for a few seconds or sometimes a minute or so. To me it sounds like something loose. It seems that it is not getting power but when you turn on the lights all the lights on the radio and cc work but none of the buttons work. The display on the middle dash works and shows the time and temperature. 'Auto A/C' is showing permanently and both the temperatures are stuck on 18 degrees. The fan speed display varies most times you start the engine, sometimes it's 1 bar, then 3 bars next time etc. The icon that shows the air distribution varies most times when you start the car. It may show air to the face and feet, next time it may be just the face then next time it could be feet. Lucky it's not winter because if you get 4 bars on the fan and air directed to the feet with the air con on you would freeze. It's strange that the lights work but the buttons don't. I've checked fuses and looked at the obvious things but haven't pulled the centre console out as yet. I'm hoping someone may have had a similar problem and can give me some tips. Here's hoping.
  3. Thanks Nightcrawler, just what I needed to know.
  4. I need to replace the left hand low beam headlight on my 2002 V35 sedan. Do I have to take off the bumper and inner guard to replace the bulb? And do i have to remove the whole headlight assembly to replace the bulb?
  5. I received the following email from a dealer who used to be an agent for Blazt: I'm afraid I don't know what happened. I haven't been involved with the Blazt group for a couple of years now and was surprised to see the web site gone. I suspect it was closed down due to poor business conditions. Jason was trying to restructure and introduce new products but I think it all may have come too little too late. It's a very competitive market with amazing products from various suppliers and I don't think Blazt was able to keep up. If you want software updates go to the Nissan Data Scan web site. I pretty sure it exists on its own and I'm sure they will allow updates if they exist. Just goggle and I'm pretty sure it will pop up. Let me know if you need any further assistance. I went to the Nissan Data Scan website and they sell the Blazt II adaptor with the Nissan DataScan II software. You can also download updates for the Nissan DataScan II software.
  6. Website was www.blazt.biz Here are some details about the interface and software.
  7. Anyone know what's happened to Blazt? I bought an OBDII interface cable from them 6 or 8 months ago for my 350GT. I've been trying for the last month or so to see if there are any updates but the website is down.
  8. I've had a problem on our 2002 350GT-8 sedan with the CVT box that has meant we couldn't take any long trips. I've spent 7 or 8 months trying to fix it and just about gave up. Someone on here had a similar problem to me but not identical and they replaced one of the speed sensors. The problem occurred an a warm day but the CVT usually worked perfectly well in cool weather. After driving for about 25 to 30kms the CVT would go into limp mode as some would call it but actually got stuck in 3rd gear. Our car would give a very slight miss now and then before the problem occurred and then the tacho would go to about 4000 and you were history. If you stopped and let it cool down for 15 minutes you were usually right to go again and strangely many times it did not happen again unless it was a very hot day. Anyhow, to cut a long story short: I decided to try replacing a speed sensor so brought one and while the car was being serviced I asked my mechanic to replace one of the sensors. He replaced the front one and 3 or 4 days later I drove about 30kms and the problem happened again. I went back to the mechanic and got him to put the old sensor back in the front and replace the rear one. That was about a month ago and I've had a few long trips in very warm weather and it works a treat. So at last the problem is fixed. Some people say the sensors are on the side of the box and that is what i told my mechanic but after the first fitting he told me the sensors are on the front and rear of the box. I bought my sensor from www.nissanparts.com.au via a contact form on their site but when I try to go there now my anti-virus kicks up a stink. Anyhow, the email I received was from Gary Smith on [email protected] The part is a Sensor Assy part # 31935-5P002 and it cost me $220 delivered.

  10. For anyone who is interested in this, I sent an email off to Nissan Japan and this is the reply below: With regard to your inquiry, we would like to inform you that 2002 Nissan Skyline is not equipped with OBD II. We use CONSULT II to diagnose 2002 Skyline V35. Bob
  11. I've got hold of a ScanGuage II computer to plug into my V35 but it wont connect properly. Does anyone know what OBDII protocol the V35 uses? It will be one of the following: ISO, KWPS, KWPF, CANSF, CANLF, CANSS or CANLS. Bob
  12. Thanks Doddy. Did you change the sensor yourself? Will update here when I've found the problem. Bob
  13. Doddy I think I have a similar problem to what you had. Mine starts to jerk a bit then the tacho goes to 4000+ and stays there. No matter what gear i put it in, the tacho does not change. It's as though I'm driving in 2nd gear. Only way to get back to normal is to stop the car and restart. Did you change the speed sensor yourself. If so was it much hassle and where is it located? Bob
  14. Thanks Chris, will see how I go.
  15. Chris Tried to find your post but couldn't. Were the keys you got from a wreck V35 keys? Do you have a URL for where to get the blanks? Bob
  16. Does anyone know how this transponder in the key works? My wife's V35 sedan has 1 key so I had an idea. Why not get a key from a wrecker, get it reprogrammed and pair it with a recut key. To test the theory I got a flat key cut and tried it in the V35 and of course it did not work. The engine spun but did not start. I put the original key beside the flat key but still no good. I stuck the original key thru the hole in the end of the flat key so it was metal to metal and hit the starter but still no go. So how the hell does this transponder work?
  17. Thanks for the pin Tom, much appreciated. Sorry I didn't reply to your PM as I haven't racked up 10 posts yet. Bob
  18. Added my name to the list.
  19. Hi Tom, If you can see a serial number here, could you please PM me a pin. Thanks very much in advance for your help. Bob
  20. My wife just picked up a 2002 350GT-8 sedan and I'm fiddling around with the screens. Do you need to reset the trip computer when you fill the tank or does it somehow do this automatically?
  21. Thanks fellas. Gees you really feel like a dickhead after you spent ages examening every bit of the interior and then you push on the flap and it pops open.
  22. My wife has just picked up a 2002 350GT-8 sedan. I presume it's premium as it has half leather, dual climate control and Bose. But I can't find how to open the fuel filler flap. How the f**k do you do this. I spent half a bloody hour crawling all over and under the dash.
  23. My wife has an Alfa Spyder convertible and has decided she has had her fling with a convertible and all it's creaks and groans so is looking at a Skyline. She's looking at a V35 350 GT-8 sedan. It has the 8 speed tiptronic auto with CVT. I don't know a lot about Skylines but I do know thay are great cars. I noticed that a lot of the later models have a 5 speed auto. How come I don't see more Skylines with the 8 speed tiptronic? Is there a problem with it?
