  1. Pulled the plugs, all of them looked vastly similar. http://imgur.com/a/2sIZI for a couple of reference shots. No pump/compressor I get the principle, and I'm convinced Id somehow muck that one up. Im not even sure how I'd cap it I might need to get a local mechanic to have a play with that side of things. I think the lowest worm drive on the intake is a bit suss though, it tightened to a point and then wont purchase for the next rut (just keeps spinning). Not sure if it was doing that prior to me pulling the plugs. I'd hazard a guess that could be a problem but in theory it isn't something 'new' (it would've been like that for the past 12 months). Perhaps it'd be timely to replace all of those for good measure. I swapped the plugs and coils between cylinders, so they're all in different locations (Eg plug from 1 is now in 2, its coil is in 3, and so on) and I swear on the my first drive after reassembling I hit over 5k without a drama, but a subsequent run repeated the symptoms I've discussed prior.

Ive checked all the IC piping and hoses off the plenum, it all feels sufficiently secure but now that Im really listening for it I can hear a bit of a hiss coming from around the centre of the plenum on idle. I went and grabbed some carby cleaner to throw around hoses to see if it changed at all but I couldnt get any difference out of it. I think that test is outside of my skill set / available tools I threw a gopro on the back of the car to video the black smoke and 'limiter' hitting, Im not even sure that was hitting 4k on that drive though; so perhaps its getting worse?

  4. I'm on an impul ecu, so I guess that makes sense that it might have similar afm cut. Will need to suss out for a boost leak then.
  5. I'd say black. Could be a bit grey-black I guess? Hard to tell when driving
  6. My car is blowing 'smoke' at around 4k and it gets heavier/thicker as the revs increase. When I hit around 4.5-4.75k there's hesitation almost like hitting a limiter (Not as bad as when you blow an AFM and cant get over 2.5k though). Im still making positive boost, and I don't have a CEL. No weird noises. Initial thoughts were my AFM throwing bad readings, so I took some readings and it looked slightly suspicious - on idle 1.59v and when Im up around 4.5k RPM it maxes out to 4.64v. Ive since swapped in one of Scottys spares, and it has identical readings on the Informeter. Could it be a bad earth on the AFM circuit that's causing high readings, or are those numbers 'right' - can anyone compare? Im a bit stumped as to what else to look in to or play with.   9. 16+8+2.. 26 checks out. My initial thought was that the guy attempting to be 'smart' by having a number plate that 'looks' like 1's and 0's but is actually a mixture of I's and 1's (and 0's). But that could be me being paranoid

  12. Got my Scotty's Customs AFM in the post this morning, it'll be finding itself a home in my glove box along with a a small star pattern screw driver

  18. Did a quick translate using Google translate as Bentwagon suggested, (Standard Car) Headlamp ( Xenon Headlight) Fog Stella fog light? Number-plate light Brake light / Tail light (Outside) Tail light (inside) no idea Reversing Lights Turn signals and hazard flasher (couldnt translate those items next to it)
  19. God that pod is ostentatious. Oh, it was my radiator that was cracked. Standard top plastic section. So I replaced that over the weekend. V35/M35 one off ebay, received it within 48hrs of placing the order and no modifications were needed. Good result, aside from it being a pita to bleed - but we all knew that. My dodgy temporary fix involving a soldering iron (Apparently I'm a skilled plasti-welder) and some silicone sealant held up perfectly well on my 50km trip to my mate with a hoist too!
  20. Sprayed coolant all over my engine bay, exact source is yet TBD. Thankfully the informeter beeped its arse off at me as temps rose up above 104 - let me know there was a drama before the cars temperature needle moved off 'centre'. I was able to pull down a side street and let it cool off, I was near enough my destination that I could just leave it there as well and then topped it up with some demineralised water to get it home safely. Doing a pressure test tonight to verify its the radiator thats decided enough is enough or if I've got lucky and its just a hose.

  23. Mine died starting the car this week. I didnt have the luxury of sitting around waiting to get my car back on the road so I had to pick one up locally. Problem sorted now though... Might go and buy a 2nd one as a stand by at this rate.
  24. Nope, its an NM35 with PNM35 headlights. The VIN checks out for NM35. Its definitely an AR-X and should have the radar cruise control
