  1. f__king mad!!!!! I am in on that one for sure if it happens!!!!!!! The death of me would be the only thing keeping me away from that
  2. Are you referring to a runway and a radar gun? lol
  3. Why? If the AD08's arent doing it for you grab some semi's from the local tyre dealer. If the Cyber EVO can knock of the V8 Supertaxi EC lap record on semi's there is no real need for a full slick really I would concentrate more on car setup than compensating with a slick tyre
  4. How do you go about renting a runway and a Police radar gun?
  5. I know someone else who has been trying to organise a day like this and there are very few days available. Just goes to show how busy the place is. Have a look at their calendar as its pretty chock a block full right now all the way through to the end of the year. I know there is an ANDRA TNT booked for once a month all the way through to March 2012 which is great but it doesnt help the cause of people like yourself who only want one day
  6. Pete, you wouldnt have any RB26 covers that you want to sell would you? I am after a full set
  7. So true lol Vipec is basically a rebadged Link so the Link screen wil be perfect
  8. They certainly take some getting used to thats for sure. Dont slip it to much or you will fry it, multi plates arent really designed to be slipped. You need to find the friction point and get the car rolling then get off the clutch as quickly as possible. I am not talking about rev dump type get off it, but once its moving drop the throttle off a little and out with the clutch. The small ammount of speed the car has should be enough to enable it to keep moving, in most cases anyway. On hills you will just need to find out what works best I would also suggest a Nismo slave cylinder. I could drive the triple we have but i just hated having to think about the clutch every time i drove the car. Using the Nismo slave cylinder has definitely changed the way the clutch takes up and has made it a lot nicer to drive. I dont know what car you have but here is the link to the Just Jap site which has them http://justjap.com/store/home.php?cat=277&sort=orderby&sort_direction=0&objects_per_page=50 I use to love placing bets with customers on how many times they would stall the car before it left the driveway of the workshop My money was on 5 or more times and i was right about 99% of the time. The driveway was only 30 metres or so long as well hehe
  9. Agree Charlie, its great to see I think some people need to take notice of the above.... volunteers, unpaid people giving their time to try and give us a track to race on. I think we all need to cut them some slack. They could have simply turned down the booking and people would have been just as pissed at them, but i guess your damned if you do and damned if you dont hey
  10. I couldnt tell you how it compares as i havent seen those turbo's on a similar engine. The head has a fair bit of port work done. I know we are quite happy with the response we have. 22psi at a little over 4000rpm is pretty decent. Was hoping to have a cracck at 140mph this weekend but the drag days been canned
  11. The new management at WSID is honestly doing wonders with the place. They have been doing anything and everything in their control to make the track right so we can hardly blame them for not saying something till now. Unfortunately bad weather has been a problem I have no hard feelings at all. I actually commend the new management for trying their hardest to make this day happen. I am actually happy that they waited till now as it shows to me that they were trying to get the track ready. for waiting till the laI know this sounds really selfish but i am kind of glad its not going ahead as i wanted to test the car properly and i dont believe that a fresh surface was going to let me do that properly. I guess we need to wait and see how quickly they can re schedule the event. Lets all hope its not proposed to have it the same weekend as WTAC!!!!
  12. Shit happens i guess. i knew about the works a long time ago and had a feeling this would happen. They stripped the rubber off it and have been resealing the strip, getting rid of the bump that many have complained about for a long time that was at the end of the concrete, and with the weather we have had lately it was inevitable Let us know what WSID may come back with as i am happy for SAU to hold my cash for now pending the new proposed date.
  13. Would love to give the S3 a squirt but i am not going to pay $220 for one run lol Its only just run in so i dont want to go flogging the ass off it all day long just yet. Shame my mate is selling his Lambo as well as it would have been great to see/hear it go down the quarter
  14. I havent read the whole thread but send it to Unigroup Engineering in Girraween. Yavuz tuned our link G4 and was very impresed with it. Add to that the fact he really knows his shit I have been ising them for years and woldnt take my car to anyone else. And i use to work for another big name GTR workshop in Sydney I am actually going to speak to him about using this Ethanol sensor in our car this weekend as Sydney only has a handfull iof servos with E anything and to do away with the laptop on the back seat would be awesome
  15. If its making that much boost in fourth its not really going to be a whole lot different in second. If anything it wont make full boost as the motor wont have the same ammount of load on it. Its always harder to get full boost in the lower gears. I would be pretty happy with that sort of response. I know the T78 on our car makes full boost (22-23psi) by about 4500rpm and i built an R32 GTR a few years back that made about 5 psi of boost with a T78 at 2500rpm, full boost (again 22-23psi) by no later than 4000rpm. It was a pretty insane GTR to be honest and a bit of a freak engine.
  16. Download the paper work in the first post. All the details ie bank account and return fax/email address, are contained on the form
  17. They are far from bullet proof. Depending on the model of GTR i use to tell my mates to have a spare $10k handy for a rebuild as the way they drove i knew it was a case of when, not if, that the engine was going to let go. Most people i know that buy GTR's buy them to drive them hard. You will never know. The speedo's on most of them have been played with or arent original, books are very rarely with them. Unless you know someone in Japan that has owned one since new you will never know what its going to be like. Its just the rsk you take
  18. They are normally ok unless thay are solid as a rock And getting back to the original post.... if your rounding the phillips bit ou your using the wrong size screw driver. You need a huge ass mother of a phillips head to do the job properly. Once you have the right size screw driver you will see thats its actually quite hard to damage the top of the screw
  19. hehe, $7k.... hmmmm..... NO hehe Its inured for $18,900 which is what kills me at the moment lol I could be rich if i was really dodgy, but i am to honest for that
  20. No need for sealer on the whole gasket, it just makes more work the next time you remove them. Some sealant smeared inside the half moons, on top of the half moons, in the corners of the front cam caps and on the lower edge at the rear of the exhaust cam cover and it will be fine. Just put a blob on your finger and push the blob into the corner where the cam cap meets the head. Dont worry about smoothing it out as the gasket will move it around and make sure the corner seals up nicely
  21. So are you bringing the coupe Kenny? and is the other beema a convertable?
  22. I have used the oxy on really really stuck plugs before. It works a treat but due to it being alloy you obviously need to be very careful. It doesnt take much normally.
  23. They may have been low ball offers to you, but to me it gives you an idea of the dollar you should expect to get for it. If you had no genuine offers in the price range you were willing to part with it for then it means that there is nobody interested in buying your car. I know i do the same thing. If the car is something semi appealing i will make a low ball offer with hopes they will sell, and thats normally done over email. If its something i want, i will ring the guy and go inspect it ASAP and offer a dollar that i am comfortable spending. Thats not before i take into account everything i would need/want to spend on it to make it my car, or repair what i dont like. You say 'someone would have eventually come along at $12k - $13k', its all well and good to say, but how long are you willing to wait.... for all you know it could have taken another 12 months. Quite often the best offer is the first one you get, and not selling for the sake of a couple of grand is quite silly. I have learnt this lessen the hard way.... I advertised a car for a ridiculous $25k, got an instant offer of $19k and laughed it off. Sold the car 12 months later for $12k. I will never know if the $19k was genuine as i turned the guy down, but i can only say i am stupid for not even considering it I am trying to sell a Civic right now, i think its fairly well priced but the fact i havent had one call tells me i am asking a ridiculous price for it. If it was priced half decently i would have had at least one call but i havent.... i am not prepared to part with it for nothing so i am just going to keep it as a second car and drive it till it stops. Its a 2007 model with 106000k's and 12 months rego. I am after $13k for it but the market is telling me i should be asking more like $10k which is why i will keep it. Its just not worth selling for that dollar as its a great car and i dont need to sell it.
  24. With all the laws being imposed on modified cars/younger drivers now i can only see the value of these types of cars falling even more. What was the offer sonnyQ? I know you said its what you paid, but what was the dollar? I would say sell it no before you lose anything on it. The only cars i see going up in value lately are classic, metal bumper type cars. I know people are still getting good money on anything older. ie 30 year old muscle type cars. Rotaries, Mustangs, Chev's, GT's etc and i think thats because they appeal to an older crowd who are willing to spend some cash on them. I had an RX3 up until about 4 weeks ago and i shit you not it sold in less than 24 hours for more than i had paid for it 18 months earlier
