  1. Lithium, methanol maybe? massive weight savings? Are they running in classes with rules or just street meet type situations Our 200SX is 3000lbs on the Sydney Dragway weigh bridge and last time out consistantly trapped at 135/137mph. Thats a complete car on E-Flex, no weight saving at all. Drive it to the track and bolt on the ET Streets and go racing. The only reason the sub will come out of it next time is because it tore itself loose on my last pass and i have no real way of securing it properly now lol Years ago a 13 second car was damn fast, nowadays unless the car is something weird it needs to run 10's to be noticed. The joys of modern technology
  2. as above, clean it off and use copper gasket spray. I have reused a couple and they have been fine
  3. PJ - A 1.28 on radials, holy friggin hell!!!! I can only wish i could get my 60's down to that!!!! I would be happy with a 1.60 lol SCR48 - I would be very surprised if 5th gear made that much difference to a power figure. Torque will be affected more than hp. I guess time will tell though
  4. wow is all i can say!!!! Thats one hell of a save given there was no chute involved Just curious PJ, is it just me or my lack of knowledge when it comes to cars as quick as yours, but does the engine bog down quite a lot on launch with your car? What 60 footers does it run?
  5. I ran close to 60 passes in the mid 11's on ET Streets with a stock R33 gtst box. Wasnt until the car got a 2 step and the mechanic at the time decided to 2 step it into the burnout in third that it finally gave up. Next to nothing left of third. That was always running a twin plate clutch and 7000rpm plus launches We ended up putting an OS 1st to 5th set in it, hopefully it lasts
  6. I have for sale one Trust T78-33D 17cm turbo (includes oil drain pipe) and dump pipe. The turbo is unmodified and is per factory. No pipes welded to it, no polishing etc The exhaust housing and dump have been coated by Hi Octane in dark grey. The dump pipe has had the screamer plumbed back in and will all suit perfectly when using a Trust exhaust manifold and wastegate. Also comes with the block off plate for those that dont want to plumb the screamer back in This turbo was making 430rwkw on 25psi on the Unigroup dyno and was quite responsive on our engine. Full boost by 4500rpm. Everything is in excellent condition. There is a small amount of play in the turbo but what one doesnt. Selling due to upgrading to a Precision. Asking $1500ono contact email bsmith074@gmail.com. Its in Sydney but would much prefer pick up Thanks Brad
  7. We may just have a better option the Tomei pump It will be interesting to see how long they last. The drive idea seems decent as i was led to believe its normally the pump drive gear chattering around on the crank that causes it to crack and fail. This splined drive would surely allow the pump drive gear to be stronger and at worst last longer than the current options I bet they wont be cheap though
  8. We have had GReddy springs with stock everything for years. 264 and a 272 with 9.7 lift. Used to rev it to 9500 and havent seen an issue after about 8000klms. Most of its life its spent on the dyno or the drag strip so its not being babied at all. We run 25psi apart from when its being driven to and from the dyno or drag strip
  9. I know its not as cold in Oz as London but i have no issues with cold start with nothing under the plenum with a Link G4. We even run E85 and i dont need to use the accelerator pedal to get it started or keep it running. Drives fine from initial start as well
  10. I used to use a breaker bar that was intended for flipping over the little wheels on a moveable 2WD dyno dynamics dyno Its about 1.5 metres long and we used to swing off it to tighten up the crank bolt. She was never coming lose. Pain in the ass if you dont go back to the same shop to have it undone though I now use my breaker bar with a jack handle on the end of it and still swing off it. I hope like mad that its tight enough and we dont have any issues I have never spat a power steering belt either. Might help though that its in an S14 and uses an S14 power steering pump
  11. Paint the car and do the engine bay when the motor lets go cause its going to happen soon enough lol I cant believe Croydon told you to pull the motor, put an oil pump and sump on it and leave the rest..... if your dead set on painting the whole car then get the motor rebuilt and do it all at once. There is no reason that CRD should damage the engine bay, i dont recall destroying anyones freshly painted engine bays when i pulled motors on GTR's.... there is heaps of room to work with when you have done lots of them As for the sump and pump, CRD use Performance Metalcraft i am pretty sure so the sump will be an awesome bit of kit and you will end up with a NItto pump. Not entirely sure what they are like for longevity, i guess time will tell.
  12. hp/kw wont really change with running the car in different gears, torque will though Methanol would make a huge difference to the power as well. I like the fuel pump setup, nice and neat
  13. So i couldnt help myself and i have spent more cash. Being delivered to me today are some ARP head studs, until now its only ever had stock head studs, and some Tomei cam cap studs, ours are really old and have been in and out a lot over the years, so i reckon they are pretty close to be stuffed. Also very seriously considering all the flex fuel set up to keep it all in check. Would get is installed but tuned later when the bank balance recovers a bit more. At least i would have the digital read out Chasing 550rwkw now so will also get Unigroup to put some proper E85 in the tank as opposed to E-Flex and see if we can crack it. Its only money isnt it tell me about it Probably why its in hp and not kw's, i know i wouldnt want to see 499kw Oh so close to the 500kw mark Only needs another degree of timing surely!!!!!
  14. Where are you? Performance Metalcraft do an awesome sump for about $1750 exchange. Oil pump, Tomei all the way. I wouldnt bother with anything else if you have the motor out and you plan on upgrading it anyway. Cheap security both the sump and oil pump are. We had a Trust/GReddy one break on us recently, thankfully it was caught at oil leak stage and not at complete destruction stage Cam gears, dont bother unless you have after market cams
  15. What ethanol percentage are people currently seeing with Caltex E-Flex?
  16. AFR's have nothing to do with the ECU, its your tuner thats the issue lol
  17. maybe not but the option is there though if you want it
  18. 1450kgs with me in it on the Sydney Dragway weighbridge. So yeah, its probably 100kgs lighter than most GTR's. Its only ever raced in complete street trim, full interior, stereo etc The only reason the sub box is coming out next time is because it tore itself loose last time on launch and it wont stay where its meant to now.
  19. its actually got nothing to do with the turbo until you start to make boost. An engine will ingest the same amount of air regardless of if it has a 10 inch intake or a 3 inch intake so the turbo size wont reatly matter It may however cause issues with an AFM if it causes some sort of turbulence within the AFM which may be the case here, if its still running one of course
  20. I highly doubt the engine would draw more air at idle just because it has a larger turbo on it..... but stranger things have happened and the inlet could have had some affect on the air flow through the AFM if its running one which has caused it
  21. soiunds to me like it just needs a tune, though i dont know how it would affect the idle tune that badly
  22. That doesnt mean much Has the turbo been upgraded and was it just thrown on and hope for the best? is it a stock engine and how many kilometres. It still could have cracked a ring land but hopefully for your sake its probably just not tuned properly
  23. used to make about 430rwkw on the Unigroup dyno at 25psi, thats when it ran 137mph. Its got 485rwkw now thanks to a PT 6766 so who knows what it will run now Its in an S14 and i run ET STreets
  24. Some may think so, i was glad it went that close. Gives me more time to get the 60 down and get booted properly Next time out, hopefully next Friday's Full Throttle Friday, i will be able to get the 60 foot down to a 1.6/1.5 and get the car booted for not only running deep into the 10's but also for running 140mph plus. I am only 3mph away from needing a parachute as well RB26 sounds better hehe Couldnt go a dirty 30 anyway as its in an S14 and it hits the bonnet as it is
