  1. godzla32 has a good point though. by saving your money and making do with minimal spending, you can then save and buy the things that you want. Unless you are mega wealthy this is the only way to get ahead... I would never borrow money for anything except investments that offer a return. (this could mean property or shares etc...) buy a modest house / unit, dump every available dollar into it, pay it off - then you can save again + borrow to invest. if you are lucky enough to be someone who is on 100k+, use it to your advantage... generally though, even ppl on large incomes have an impressively large debt..... (sorry for the thread hijack)
  2. Correct, as I said, it was a VspecII R 32 GTR (silver if that makes any difference ) as punishment for not knowing that - you have a 1500 word essay as to the models of skylines LOL
  3. Hey guys, the problem I see with a group buy scenario is the fact that we all use different sorts of pods, filters and adapters... for instance I have M's pods and they are pretty chunky. this is why I am building a specific unit for mine. I looked as the ARC one, but didn't understand the filter on top thing???? isn't that just going to suck hot air as well?
  4. thankfully mine is good never moves.
  5. I think the car is looking great! going to be nice to see it back on the street, so we can go for a cruise!
  6. I'll be building a sealed enclosure for my pods, not just a cold air partition. won't be for a couple of weeks, but I'll take pic's if I can borrow a camera. Main construction will be fibreglass, with an insulating foam layer between a few sheets of the fibreglass.
  7. Hey Stirlo, you are not defeated - you are just getting a bigger hammer
  8. sounds like a very good idea
  9. I'm happy with the Blitz SBC iD III and they can be had for as little as $590 now It works a treat and is very easy to install and set...
  10. the engineer that is goig to give you the cert should be able to do everything for you?!? are you talking of taking it to seperate people? you only need the engineer cert, then head off to the rego office
  11. Unimpressed! 1994 VspecII R32 GTR... I was expecting a lot more. It ran 14psi, exhaust, stock airbox with panel filter and a button clutch. It was one I looked at buying and it was a nice car, but I tought it totally lacked grunt. (yes, it was in TOP condition). As turbo cars went I was used to a friends series 1 RX7 13BT (now THAT was a ride!). It nearly put me off buying a GTR. Oh - I also went for a drive in an auto R33 GTSt 4 door, again I was unimpressed, but it was stock.
  12. your answer lays here http://www.otomoto.com.au/nissangtr.htm Would cost a lot to ship an engine from japan - factor that in, but if you are up for it there are plenty of japanese workshops that can cater to your requirements. Get some back issues of HPI or Zoom as they do some features on the Jap workshops.
  13. Hi Neil Anyone that is an automotove engineer will be able to certify your car and the mods. when you contact someone about it, just tell them what you require and the level of mods that you have.
  14. I like chrome as well, but for $30 tops, I was able to have a bit of fun and get a mirror finish
  15. agreed - I enjoyed doing a bit of polishing in my engine bay
  16. I think it is fine to have different makes in motorsport... it makes things more interesting... instead of saying the holden ute should not be in drift, we should saying - why are only holden and ford in V8 supercars.... Toyota and Nissan have V8's, Mitsu and Mazda wanted to get into it as well. Unless V8 supercars change, I predict they will be dead in 5 - 7 years (if they can keep the current (read - no longer in production) engine configuration going for that long....)
  17. yeah - the cam covers are held in with the phillips head screws, I think the plug cover (the one that runs down the middle) requires allen keys (I done have one - so can't confirm!). the timing cover also uses the allen keys bolts (don't know the size), but you will need to remove the CAS (the thing that has the wires and is sitting on the front right of the timing cover). Note, if you do remove this, be careful to mark adn take note of excatly where it was installed.
  18. the covers are attached by phillips head screws, any auto paint place will give you the cleaners and paint/ sandpaper that you need. preparation is the key to a great result (ie, remove all traces of oil, sand with decent paper, use good paint (high temp is best) and apply light coats and allow to dry between recoats.
  19. hey - what you need to do (if you want to do it the easy way) is get some paint stripper, wipe it on with a rag on the painted sections (follow directions). this will get rid of the paint. you can then redo, or sand any areas that require more attention. To polish, go to your local hardware store and usually in the power tools section you will find a Buffing/ Polishing compound KIT. it contains a grey and white block of the cutting/ polishing compound and a buffing wheel that attached to your drill. LOTS easier than doing it by hand BTW - the kit is only ~ $30. it shines it up like chrome!!!
  20. mate - must just be a loose wire there somewhere.... are you getting ANY noise/ action from the injectors??? I sould be able to lend you my ECU shortly (unless someone has one you can borrow now?) - unlikely, I know - but worth a shot.... Did all the power feed wires get reconnected back to the positive terminal of the battery? you have fuel pressure at the rail - yes? could always pull an injector and try it on someone else's loom to see what it is doing (I think the injectors themselves are fine). I bet it is something simple...
  21. stirlo, are you still having trouble with the injectors? have you thought about swapping in ECU's?/ checked the error codes?
  22. Hi Mate I've got a set of Do-Luck FRP vents that I'm thinking of selling - they go in at th erear of the bonnet. see do-luck japan for the images.
  23. Hey David - yeah, that was me your ride sounded good! first time encountered another GTR in Civic on my ramdom cruise through.... BTW what time is everyone normally at the musem? sucks about the wankers spitting on your car! losers....
