Hks T51-spl Turbo Kit For Rb26
DAN00H replied to vspecv's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I'd like it, but from the graph it looks like it will be too laggy for my car on the street Dean, was your 33 standard capacity? when did it start to make usable boost? Cheers -
Spotted this morning in this order - Red R32 GTS-T (with GTR front)/GTR (I didn't get a good look), with a big GT wing on the back parked out the front of Baileys arcade 8:10am; Purple R33 GTR V Spec (stock), pretty brunette woman driving - I was following you in a silver mazda 626 from the lights at the Hyatt to the lights near Phillip swimming and ice skating in Woden 8:15 - 8:20am Nice looking / sounding White R33 GTS-T driving past my building on Bowes st Woden ~ 8:30am

Cheers Guys, much appreciated. I think I will get a set for my car shortly and see what they can do! I will post results when it happens. Dan

Hi Guys, just chasing a lead on the Apexi AX53b60 turbos for GTR's. I'm looking at purchasing a set for my car, but want to know if anyone has any real experience with them.... I have been told they 'compare' with GT2530's - but I would like to know when they make boost/what they are like on the street. I'm not into drag or circuit and want to keep the good low punch. Cheers in advance. DAN00H (ACT)

cars for sale
DAN00H replied to reni's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
As one of the Pioneering '89 importers (I bought my car back in June last year and imported it January this year!) I can honestly say it was a long, expensive and stressfull process. Yes, it cost more than expected, but being one of the 'First' buyers of '89 GTR's I was able to select a damn good example. Anyone who thinks that paying mid 20's for a good '89 GTR is too much, I say DO IT YOURSELF THEN! - one you have gone through all the sh*t, then tell me that you would not want a decent price for that car! I whave been in later model GTR's and they are not in as good a nick as my car! I did consider buying one locally, but you still don't know how 'good' it is - and to get a good car locally prepair to pay early to mid 30's. Yes there are cheaper out there - I will leave you to take the the risk old saying - you get what you pay for.... -
For tyres talk to Johnno or Trent at Tuggeranong Tyrepower, tell them Daniel with the low Silver R32 GTR that they fitted the Toyo proxis T1-S to earlier this year sent you ; ) They are good guys and will give you a good price, much better than everywhere else I tried. Ewen Where do you get your suspension done? Inline steering and suspension?

I was busy looking at my new house + it was my wifes birthday! We should organise a time to meet up at a cafe.
-
you could only import a basic '89 for that money (prices have gone up recently) prestige are good.
-
Redline in my engine, gearbox and diff with ryco filter - expensive, but so far it has worked very well - very smooth.
-
I was talking to someone who has a set for sale that said they are a little laggier than the 2530's.... He said they are rated at 340hp each, but would be good for 600hp. Anyone else?
-
I've got rellies in Melb, when is it on? I wouldn't mind seeing a bunch of you guys and seeing the results! Nik Yeah, keen to go for a ride, be good to see the difference between the stockers and your car!
-
I've been looking at all the previous posts on GTR turbo upgrades, Although it is very good seeing peoples results, its a real pain having to read through 3+ pages to see what the results are!!! I'm considering an upgrade ATM, originally I was goign to get my stockers converted to steel wheels - But at a cost of $4000 for the pair, it is just about cheaper to go for something like HKS GT 2530, Trust T517Z(8cm) or Apexi ax5360.... Would it be possible to have a graph/poll made in sticky, showing at a glance what each person acheived??? It seems the 'simple' path to 320+rwkw is any of the above turbos + 700cc injectors + PFC + nismo/044 pump + front pipes + 3inch??? - All for the princely sum of around $7.5 in parts.... Anyone else have any thoughts???
-
Hey Merli Did you end up getting your engine together? did the GT-SS bolt straight on???
-
you can check to see if it has a cam gear if you mark all the positions and replace exactil the same. At idle you should be able to balance a 50 cent on it's edge on the plug cover...

Keep R33gtst or sell & buy 89 R32 GTR
DAN00H replied to zymotic's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I've seen new cars that are flogged out more than an older model... the key is seperating the good from the bad - Regardless of year! Anyone remember the R31 GTS - R (coudl have been X) that geoff had a few years back?? that thing was perfect. I read a post today of a guy that bought a LOCAL '92 R32 and it is stuffed! this after it had been 'inspected'.... -
looks pretty interesting and quite simple in operation. never heard of it before, so if I were you I would want to see what racing application it had been used in. The position of the unit (in the oil feed path) would be critical - no point having pressure to the unit, while it bypasses the vital engine components... Let us know what you do and/or find out. Cheers Dan
-
not answering the bloody phone either! be interesting to see if it was tested on forced indiction - has done everything else...
-
sounds like a cracked head / head gasket starting to fail... did you do the comp test when the engine was hot???
-
certainly a valve(s) stem seal problem, same thing used to happen in my 302. Old rule of thumb, smoke on acceleration = rings, smoke on deacceleration = valve stem seals.
-
Yeah - Last I heard, Terry was the ONLY person on Oz with one of them. Lucky, Lucky man indeed!
-
Nik Sounds to me like a vacuum leak - I have the same thing on my NA d/driver. (it has vac leaks, but I don't like working on it!!) Check all of the emission lines (one might be cracked, or could have been knocked off). If that doesn't locate anything I'll think about it some more and tell you my ideas on Satuday : ) Cheers Dan (BTW - no car should 'hunt' at low idle, if a car is very worked it will be lumpy, but not hunt - I grew up with angry V8's

Keep R33gtst or sell & buy 89 R32 GTR
DAN00H replied to zymotic's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I must say that I'm very happy with the '89 I brough in. got it from Prestige at a good price. Only thing that 'broke down' (as everyone keeps saying these 15 yr old GTRs are crap buckets) was the diff, cost me $400 to fix. (I did the R&R work). Better than paying whole wad extra to get a later model. How the Fu*k are you going to tell if a '94 is mechanically better? because the car has lower km's (ona a wound back clock!!). I bought my house BEFORE getting the car, keep your 33 and be happy with that. Save for your house, buy that - then save (NOT BORROW) for your next car, a NICE GTR of any model. Shame the 15yr rule is going to be stopped. I think the thing to keep in mind is you just don't know what condition the car (be it any model)will be in - unless you strip every part and test for trueness, bends, wear etc. Best of luck what ever you choose - ALL skylines are great cars. BTW - I drive my crapbox EA harder than my GTR as it's a D/driver and it is still going strong with 270k... -
yep, go an '89 GTR, just get a good clean one. Don't listen to all the guys who say buy the newer ones, as they are dark about the good prices on the '89!
-
stamp duty - 3% of purchase price, may need a blue slip, NRMA ~$130 (but pretty useless!!!), better off taking it to a garage that knows skylines... Don't forget insurance...

What day? / time? I know of a few R's in Canberra that might go along. If it's on Saturday, I can't make it - as I have an exam to sit... Mine is pretty stock, runs 12PSI, 3inch front pipes, cat exhaust and mufflers and air pods. I'll see if I can drag some of the other guys in!
