Hey all, I want to suss out this sound i'm getting from my R31 executive, When it shifts into 4th gear (auto) I can hear a soft humming noise as i accelarate, If i ease off the gas and let it cruise it goes away, It's not loud by any means but I want to make sure it's not a bad sound. it's a soft and a smooth humm. My first reaction was it might be a fan cos when my bro had a minor accident he had his radiator fixed and new fan, and it makes a high pitch humm when you run the air con. Could a exhaust leak in the manifold cause this or is it the Rear diff? thanks all

yeah i know a cat back won't fix it, it's old and rusty anyway so i would like a new one... did anyone have a ballpark figure on these studs?

As the Title says, I just got my car back from inspection for my RWC and it needs a bit of work done to the exhaust system, They say 3 studs are broken and an exhaust leak is present on the manifold. Can anybody tell me how much this costs to have repaired? I believe I might get ripped off at this place I took my car too, I won't mention them incase i get flamed Also they told me that the centre pipe (cat to muffler) is rusted out, and the L/H/R muffler is broken off, I was considering purchasing a new exhaust (cat back) so I asked Midas and they quoted me $465 for that, are they giving me a fair go there? Is there anyone selling an exhaust (cat back) on the forums for a good price? I'm not a mechanically enclined person so I wouldn't know about how much stuff costs and the work involved. Hey all, new member here! I thought I'd introduce myself and my new car which i bought just last week. She's a R31 Executive 4spd auto, Burgandy with 132,000 km, I picked her up for $3200, getting my RWC done this week. Runs beautifully, panels are dead straight, i can't see any flaws with this car, one ding in the quarter panel but there's nothing that can't be pushed back out. nothing in the inteerior os cracked, broken, worn, it all looks close to new! i'm so lucky I found this in such good condition click thumbnails for bigger pic that's all for now probably look for some nice wheels and a nicer muffler in a few months, just want to keep it simple for now
