sorry to dig up a old post but I have to comment. I got to know Koah when I was living back in melbourne 4 years ago when I worked with him. His R33 most likely wudve been only a handfull of imports in vic at the time, i remmeber no one had one bac kthen and his one was immaculate. Being a 16 yo kid, this was like a ferrari to me and I said to him one day, and I ll never forget it - Man you are so lucky, you have the best car, and he told me, just work hard man and you can have one. He was kind enough to take me in the car on a few occasions and I was hooked onto imports from that early age, hes car was beyond awesome, it was like going in a dream because no one had skylines back then, even in the traffic ppl looked at it as if it was a ferrari. Now Im back here and I work at the same place and my uncle told me what happned to the car and I felt so sorry for him. Koah is a good freind who has a passion for cars. If it was not for him, i wouldnt have been so interested in cars even!!! Im sure whatever car he gets next will be just as awesome, and Itll be good to go cruising. Catchya guys Kim

Well guess who's back. If there is nothing wrong with this GTR that i'm having ICE to have a look at, i'll come to the meeting also to get stickers and stuffs off Shane. Wish me luck. -
More imports in mandurah for idiots to pick up and give imports a bad name.

Another lesson learnt for the people chasing big HP in there RB25s. Im waiting to start modding next year when im a bit more settled. Ive got my company car so the skyline only goes out on weekends and rarely cos fuel costs heaps here and cops are harsh and the poor road surfaces are extremely dangerous. Ive noticed perth roads to be much smoother, ive had some close calls here with little bumps and irregularities on the road surface causing the car to lose traction n get sideways It will be long term but the Plans for it now are to get the engine rebuilt with aftermarket rods and pistons, head porting, aftermarket camshafts and gears. PowerFC, Trust T51ZR and a external wastegate (not to atmo). Ill probably get a larger full 4 inch exhaust and try and make it a bit quiet. I want around 550 rwhp which will see my 32 comfortably into the 10s. Im at the moment very content with my car though so im not too worried.

I know theres probably been a billion threads on this but PLEASE help me for a second. I have been with Famous insurance paying 2200 a year for Insurance on my skyline in Perth. Today they told me it would be over 3000 dollars to insure it here- this is just not justifyable. I am 20, had no accidents or been involved in any from the time i got My license 3 years ago. Im unfortunately on my Ps in victoria here - i was off them In WA. Can someone refer me to a insurance company here. What about Shannons insurnace - i will only be driving the car on weekends. Less than certain kms. How much should I be paying, please help me. Kind regards Kim fernando

I have a 1995 RB25DET in my R32 - it was the only one of 2 In Perth. I absolutely love the car and its really miles ahead of a RB20. The power down low is crazy and because its a lighter car it REALLY gets up and goes, on the run its phenomenal.Best conversion runs like a dream BUT MAKE SURE U GET A RB25DET Gearbox!!!! RB20 box wud shit itself if u drove it hard Mine with only a Full exhaust system, FMIC and Rom is getting 280 rwhp. Only needs a about 330rwhp and ur looking at 11s. regards Kim.
-
Yes it has a R33 RB25DET gearbox in it and a Xtreme 9 puck cushion button plate clutch with a 2500 lb pressure plate. Im pretty sure the clutch wud be the same. Good luck finding a cheap R33 box tho.
-
I seen it at about 1 today with 1 spacesaver on and a smashed drivers side window. Looked sad.

I can see a lot of you guys talking about secondhand boxes being no good and all. Ive had a lot of my mates go through gearboxes in their car, even my old 180sx, the new owner has been through 4 gearboxes due to smashin into gears in that and it was only a 12 second car. The biggest problem is the driver and the second biggest killer is a tough clutch. I have seen how ppl hammer there gearboxes and they are the ones that break them. There is a proper way to shift and slamming it into the next cog as fast as you can is not going to help. GTR boxes arent that weak, and considering ur running 12.5s which is mild on a GTR i think its not due to power, but to the way ur driving it/clutch. Over in Perth, ND4SPD R32 GTR was running mid 10s on stock gearboxes taking it easy on the shifts. Sure, he broke about 2 of em gettin there, but that was after having 600 HP+ goin thru the thing. Anyway point is, dont slam into gears/flatchange and be wise when choosing a clutch. Kim

I got one with RB25 - probably one of the most ideal conversions. I love it.

The utes and sedans are very nice looking cars but they just dont cut it for me. Ive been in many of these XR turbos, manual and automatic, while they go very good for a standard car, theres no wow factor, it lacks that feeling of a special car.The interiors are fairly bland and the handling is below par to what ive become used to. Id seriously look more at the Holden SS or Maloo offering because they have a more upmarket feel, feel more powerful and have character. The XR ute does look nice, but is boring,
-
You guys are need to sort out what your doing. I know a lot of people that feel like getting something else totaly outta the water, like a shitty ford ute , but in that case, sell now and DO it, dont wait any longer or think about it. You have to be a car enthusiast to own a skyline, or else youve just got it for transport or showing off. When I feel its time to move onto another car, I am considering a Mitsubishi 3000GT or as a new car, maybe a decked out Liberty GT. sure they not the lightest or the fastest, but its something different and more upmarket. If money wasnt a problem, id be looking into a Porsche 911 turbo

as the topic states, anyone round here got these?
