  1. Drove it home today, didnt make it up the drive way first time It starts when its cold, but the battery charge light comes on and stays on, and then it idles fine, you turn it off and try and turn it back on and it wont even tick over, is the alternator stuffed? I couldnt figure it out :S anyway, im going to strip as much as i can legally this weekend, and hopefully get a new door How cheaply can i get a SR20DET setup? I dont mind about kilometres, just in good running condition... I think this is the next task, get that crappy A12 out and get is running smoothly. Also, could mods please move this to Projects/Build ups? Thanks guys
  2. Yeh thinking tHe CA or SR is a cheaper, simpler way to go. Does anyone know what the process is for registering an engine swap? And costs?
  3. Sorry, just realized this should be in projects/build ups. Mods feel free to move, sorry.
  4. Hey guys, So i bought a Datsun 120Y, real classic shape, always loved it. 4 speed manual, around 35kw factory, a real beast I want to use this car for mainly track, but wouldn't mind having it registered so i can drive occasionally also. My plans for it are: -engine conversion, either a RB20DET or SR20DET. Personally would prefer the RB, only cause i know how they sound and feel, and its amazing. Thoughts on this? -5 speed box from either the SR or the RB. Better for sliding then the stock 4 speed? worth the extra cash? - nice exhaust, just good flow, 3" will do. - Big cooler, to keep the temp, on track down - some nice jap dished rims, 15" or 16" preferably, but really wide. - obviously supporting mods for the engine, like manifolds, boost controller and gauge etc. - just a fresh respray, black would be nice, go over the stock blue easily and be nice and cheap. So, whats your opinion on how this will pan out as a build? Mind you this will be done over a 1-3 year period, and Im trying to keep it around 10k max. Cheers guys, let me know what you think!
  5. Will take $750 cash, anyone interested?
  6. Hey guys, Im looking for a old school rwd, that i can work on, smack on track and preferably drive as a daily. I know its a lot to ask for $500, but lets see how i go. Sort of thing im looking for: Old escorts Gemini's Stanza's Datsun'S TA22 Celica would be lovely! Anything that style/shape Pref. manual, but not necessary If i could get a 240z/260z shape shell/with blown engine, for $500 i would be happy. As for the above, id prefer them to be running. Im in Adelaide, let me know if you guys have anything, or know anyone who does. Cheers!
  7. Hey guys, I'm selling my 2009 Mongoose Fireball. It has been built for Dirt Jump, but handles light downhill and fourcross beautifully. It has not been ridden in the last year or so, and before that was not ridden regularly. No big crashes, no cracks. In very good condition. Only problem is a flat front tube, but i replace and give a full clean and service (i used to be a bike mechanic) for any serious buyer. I will try and get some pictures up asap. Modifications include: Gold ODI lock on handle bar grips, these were a limited edition. Aftermarket front wheel, with 20mm thru axel, could be a Mag30, cant remember of the top of my head. '08 Bigstick handlebars, white, nice and wide, perfect for jumping SIngle speed conversion, running perfectly, standard back wheel set up with spacers. Single brake, rear brake set up, again, weight saving and is "all the style" for dirt jumpers. New headset, ridden 2-3 times on. '09 Marzocchi DJ1 dirt jump forks, with '10 dampers, and a custom ONE OF A KIND gold respray and fully stickered back up. Great forks, no leaks, bought these alone for $800 Bikes rides beautifully, handles great, jumps great. Reason i built up on this frame was because of the awesome geometry for jumping. I bought the bike for $1,200 in 09, spent about $1,500 on getting it perfect for jumping, sadly i need it gone as i need to fix a few things on my skyline. I am willing to let it go for a good price, looking at $900 or nearest offer. Best DJ bike you will find under a grand. I am located in Coromandel Valley, SA. 0432809975, txt is best for me as i work during the day. Or you can PM on here, i check it every night Thanks guys
  8. Hey mate do you have stock wheels, or are willing to part with your wheels cheaply? I'm in Adelaide can pick up, pm me if you have anything. Thanks
  9. Looking for 2 of re cheapest rims I can get for my S2 R33. With tyres is preferble, don't need to be great condition. Pm me if you have some of know anyone who does, thank you
  10. Hey guys, I'm looking for the wires/cords that are for a JVC KD-R606 head unit. Took the unit and the face out of my old car, forgot to grab the connections /facepalm Not sure what they are worth, but if someone has some, or can get some I'll pay around $50 for them. Cheers guys
  11. What (If any) racing seats are reclinable AND ADR approved, so that they can legally be fitted into a coupe for street use. I can only seem to find one of the other.
  12. Ahaha yeah, it feels like its taking forever. Iv'e been doing the process since February, thats when i started searching for it lol. But shouldn't be too much longer now, im very keen. And yes, pictures will be up asap!
  13. aha /blushes Cheers man (Y) Im so damn impatient
  14. Hey guys, I tried using the search bar, but could not find any related threads, so either I'm retarded or there aren't any. Im thinking its the former over the latter. I have got my SII R33 GTST in compliance at the moment in Adelaide. We have gone through what needs to be dome (roadworthy wise) and they started physically working on it last Tuesday. I was wondering, how long roughly should it take to get the core of compliance done? Obviously there are other things that need to be done, specific to the vehicle, but roughly how long can i expect to wait? Cheers
  15. Hey guys, Ive recently imported a SII R33 GTST, and am wondering what to install, ecu wise. Im aware that there is only so much you can do modification wise before upgrading the ecu. What's a good, aftermarket ecu, thats not ridiculously expensive and what advantages will i gain? Ivee heard a lot about Apexi PFC's being quite good, but other then this im unaware of what else is out there. Any help/information is muchly appreciated Cheers
  16. haha, yeah i think ready for a Rwd. This Fwd is pissing me off. Wouldnt mind getting some track time aswell, so the 33 would be much better suited. I came from an automatic 1990 Audi, so to me the manual turbo is wonderful Hoping the skyline will just be another step up though. Haha, ive wasted enough money on women already, and im only 17 Alcohol however...I think ill keep on spending
  17. ahaha yeah the mx6 goes alright actually, was my dads so its pretty stock. Saving all the money for the 33. Only downside of the Mazda is that its Fwd (N) Mazda really dropped the ball there, would have been sucha great car if they made it Rwd. And yeah, is that the course that is like a "specialized teaching english overseas" course? Thanks heaps guys
  18. Hey guys, I was wondering if any one here is/has done Japanese Studies at University (unisa is where i am interested in). I was wondering if it was worth it and if it helped you get a career in Japan? Ive heard that do get any decent work over there you need certificates, and i was looking at what i could do at uni. Any one done this course, and if so what did they think of it, and what did they get out of it. Thanks heaps
  19. Cheers Socrates, thanks heaps (Y)
  20. ECR33-109248 Thanks guys
  21. Driving a FWD, ive learnt not to accelerate mid corner, those bastards understeer like nothing else, and once they go theres now way to get it back
  22. Sorry i cant help you mate, but ive got a R33 coming and i want to order my personalized plates aswell, but wasnt sure if i needed to have the car before hand, im curious as to why she wouldnt hand them to you
  23. Thanks for all the help, And yes Kinks, i just witnessed my mate slide off a bank into three trees yesterday in his Alfa 33, because he accelerated mid corner, car is totaled and he is lucky he or anyone else wasn't hurt. I was behind him in my MX6, very scary. I do enjoy to occasionally boost, but i wouldnt put my self in a situation where i was risking running such a beautiful car (R33) off the road And im very keen to take an advanced driving course, as soon as i can afford it lol Oh and its a Type-M, i googled for ages and could not find any difference between a Type-M and a non Type-M, is there any difference at all? Cheers guys
  24. It is completely stock, besides the rims and cannon. Do they have full alarm systems from factory?
  25. Thanks guys, anything i need to know about warming up/cooling down turbo? Ive been driving a Turbo MX6, but its so primitive i was told that the turbo doesnt need any special care, it just kinda does its thing
