It is already massively different. In just one season. Ive been a fanatic since end of 2004, i havent missed a single race and check info sites almost everyday. The reasons i 'fell in love' with Formula One dont exist now. If i had started watching now, i probably would like it at all. But F1 is all about progression. Soon as things get better they will start to bring more flare back. Maybe in 4 or 5 years time, or possibly sooner when the F1 big guns realise the amount of audience and therefor profit they are loosing by downgrading the technology and sophistication this season. Its no secret, as a modern F1 fan i hate what they have done. The cars just remind me of A1 now But i cant stop watching. They hooked me early. Go Alonso! 3rd Championship is what im hoping for. Someone needs to try and hunt down Schumacher! 7 Titles is just ridiculous.

This is getting ridiculous, they leave you in the cold if you dont buy ADM, but if you do they require you to jump through hoops everytime u want to use it properly. Im already thinking they will be extremely tight about warranty claims

Well i cant see honda dissapearing completely, they have invested so much money. Its a bargain if someone buys it! Even with these rule changes, it isnt any easier for new manufacturers to join. Thats mostly why porsche has never joined. Their brand cant be seen to lose. I forgot about vettel, i like him for similar reasons to kimi. He doesnt really fit F1, yet he is really good at it.

This is what its for, a non-direct and non confrontational way to voice your opinion and thoughts Honestly i really liked lewis for most of 2007, until he started speaking ill and 'im superior' statements to the press, especially against the world champion. I think f1 is the most elite and exclusive 'club' in the world. To be a driver is something like 1 in 350 Million, its a damn privilige almost regardless of your talent. I dislike champions who are disrespectful and condescending until they become champion, then its all smiles and talk of how good all the other drivers are.. I dont really dislike lewis that much, i just like to point out alot of things that many lewis fans seem to overlook. They all think hes the greatest and so on, how shortsighted.. I guess you do have alot of silly fans when you have released 3 books before you even finish your first season lol But for the record i am a fan of Alonso, Kimi, Webber & Kubica No body has spoken of this USF1 news? I like the idea, but i think they underestimate how difficult it is to just start a team in modern f1 and be competitive.

Massa had more race wins and the f2008 was the faster car both in stats and in real time. Without Ferrari's errors he would have finished massively ahead of lewis. Engine failure and pit stop drama cost him 20 points. Is lewis a great driver? Yes. Did he deserve to win the title more than the other drivers? No. Did he have a contract from mclaren before he had hair on his balls? Yes. Is he the only driver EVER to have such a deal? Yes. Did he step into the second best car on the grid, with the team literally built around him and focused primarily on him? Yes. Has he ever had to do the hard yards in Formula one and prove his mettle and merit from pure driving alone like all the other drivers had to? No. Go look up where alonso, kimi, massa, schumi all started in f1.. Minardi.. Benetton etc It must be wonderful to jump into a mclaren from day one, it makes it all seem so easy

Yeah im discusted by their decision with the rear wings. And im still pessimistic about how much more overtaking is actually going to result from it One advantage i can see with the 09 wings is the improvement in visability, especially through the mirrors. I think revised aero, kers and rules for engines and gearboxes to last longer was all that needed to be done. Flavio said recently that kers this year is a joke because next year its going to be standardised. So whatever teams spend this year is completely lost. So much for saving money strategies F1! But the big teams cant afford to wait and not run kers this year, so hundreds of millions is being wasted. I think the article was in the last f1 magazine

Thats 08 spec wing though, im not sure why mclaren arent doing more testing with the 09 wing. Surely you would want as much time as possible learning the big change to your rear downforce?

Yeah great advice, aero only really comes into play at higher speeds anyway. Your better off increasing rear grip with either increased track, better suspension or better tyres. Plus if your going to fit a proper rear wing, it has to be attached directly to the body which is quite a modification. Otherwise the boot travel just absorbs most of the downforce the rear wing is making.

Yeah Nissan's 90s jdm car range was quite incredible! But nissan would be no more without carlos/renault and without adapting to recent market changes. I dont like that they arent making the range of 'sports' cars they were, but atleast they have put all their marbles in with the R35.. And it payed off That document looks like a nightmare for the privateer

I dont mind it. Its retro! It reminds me of old renault/benetton etc with the straight flat colours. Renault are strong when they are given a new sheet to work with, im eager to see their pace in Melb. The R29 front is completely different to the others so far

Well assuming the f60 has the motors and moving front wing part(s) in its launch photos.. Where is that? Going off that photo, i would presume it was the small slice parts that have ETIHAD on them. Especially since this area of the front wing creates the most downforce.

I read recently that there will be a price increase to conform to recent currency changes. I dont know if it was a typo and sposed to be 10-12%, but it said 1-2%. The 35 platform is already amazing, all it would ever need is small improvements in specific areas. Like weight

Surely it isnt an angle of the entire front wing? Im beginning to think 09 will actually be faster with a properly used kers system and after they have had some time to do more development. Ferrari said the car that lines up at melb will look ALOT different to their launch car.

Me too, he is the best in f1. And if you dont agree, you didnt watch 2005-2006. Without doubt he isnt satisfied with 2 titles! I really enjoyed watching nando fight for results in 08 because ide watched him fight for wins for 3 years straight. He said recently he wants another title way more than he wanted the first one against schumi. And you can understand why 09 spec is really growing on me, i just love the smooth curves everywhere. It doesnt look as agressive or technical, but the overall shape/contour is nice. Im itching for some laptimes already!
