  1. Not happy! I cant believe that with glock, i was jumping up and down and yelling because lewis had lost it.. then glock pulls over! Think im going into f1 withdrawl for awhile.. Massa showed the emotion and humbleness that is needed in a good world champion. I doubt lewis' ego would ever let him cry. Ill be at the melb gp next year, lets hope the field is all over the place next year. And for the record lewis fans, he isnt the best. The greatest are determined by their longevity of success Now if only he didnt get spoon fed and start in a mclaren
  2. I love the way things work out sometimes! Being in the traffic isnt good in any race, let alone one where most drivers dont want you to win the title and your main rival is at the front. Lewis finishing 6th is quite possible, any mistakes, penalities or mechanical problems and it will be all over. go mASSA! And the 5 other people who will finish ahead of lewis
  3. I think it will be same as usual, if i were lewis i wouldnt want to drop back behind traffic at all if possible. The helmet camera angle is wonderful If it rains it will be interesting, the paint/zebra strips are essential for fast times and very slippery as practice showed. And as roy said, I think massa/other drivers have the advantage of knowing that lewis MUST be cautious. Something that lewis has never really done, but i cant wait to see which (or how many) drivers give him a hard time.
  4. Oh god! It looks like one of them pikes peak cars or whatever I love the way current formula one cars look, why couldnt they just add slicks and some minor aero rules instead of all this bs If lewis loses the championship this time it will never be forgotten. So who needs to finish ahead of him.. Hmmm, Massa, Kimi, Kube, Nick, Alonso.. Quite possible, as anything is on race day
  5. Probably most boring race of the season. Unless your a hamilton fan. Doesnt look good for massa, 7 points is alot. Although ive asked in past races 'if there is a god, please give him some arrogant-in-the-best-car karma'.. And its worked But i take a certain happiness in knowing mclaren wont win the constructors.. Oh the irony. Also that comment by lewis on alonso and the rest of the drivers is a joke. There is many people who deserve to win the title and win races more than him. He stepped into the best car on the grid and has a team built around him which means he has no appreciation for what its like to really make your way in formula one into the position you deserve. Nearly everyone starts from the bottom. It must be nice to start from the top hey lewis? I hope alonso is right about being able to challenge for the title next year. I hate that lewis' greatest rival isnt in a car to challenge!
  6. Sorry i should have phrased that better. What i meant was, If you got a superkart.. Where can you use it and what do you need to use it? Would you be allowed to use it at track days with cars? Im assuming it would be too dangerous because the cars wouldnt be able to see you properly
  7. "After 16 races the leader has 84 points, but I had that many after nine races in 2006," Alonso recalls. Ahh that was a great year A good point too, the attrition rate this year has been massive. I think there is another angle on bourdais penalty where he moves across into massa? Yeah respect to kubica, but we all know he is a good driver and has a decent car. He reminds me of kimi.. doesnt talk shit and just goes racing. Doesnt want to be a celebrity, he wants to race. Of note - Alonso is only 3 points away from Kovalainen!!! lol
  8. Ahh how things can work out in mysterious ways Hamilton deserved penalty because he drove half the field off the track when he didnt need to. He had his line, then moved and pushed everyone. Bourdais was a little strange, im assuming they are saying he impeded because he would have had a lower corner speed compared to massa since bourdais just came out of the pit. Either way, the FIA have alot more information than we do. They get all car telemetry, all team information and many camera angles etc Im loving this! Alonso starts 14th last race.. Wins it. Starts 4th this race.. Wins it. A strong dose of dejavu from last year for lewis would make this the perfect season Either way, even if lewis wins drivers and ferrari wins constructors it will be a big kick in the face for mclaren and show the weakness of favouring one driver. only just found out about massa getting another point... lol bring on the lewis lovers/fia haters ... drum roll...
  9. I feel like buying gold bars the way things are going. As if Japan isnt expensive enough as it is! For all those who want an amazing insight to what is happening and how stupid our society is.. http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/main.htm
  10. Cant say ill miss the canadian GP, but its sad to see it go. Especially with this years drama there Im behind on info, what are they replacing it with? As for girls in f1.. Most of the time they dont look how you think they will.. Well maybe exept for kimi and alonso's wives lol It must be nice when your married to someone who isnt home for 10 months of the year and makes a million dollars a week! Thats assuming you dont enjoy spending all your days with them
  11. What happens if you were to buy like a superkart 250 etc Can you use it on racetracks with only other go karts?
  12. I dont think its so much the problem of overtaking. Its more so that some cars are just that much faster than others and means the people we each go for cant win, no matter how good they are. For example.. How lewis can just slipstream people lap by lap and take positions thanks to mclarens strong drive out of the corner and high top speed. Obviously leauges like A1 etc where they are all in the same cars is extremely boring. But when there is a massive gap between cars in racing it can be quite irritating. One thing i know for sure is there is alot of honda car lovers out there (Asian guys), and you cant blame them for not liking F1 considering how dismal honda is at the moment. It can be hard to go for and support a team or driver when they never achieve anything.
  13. Its all gearbox and tyres hey. If you think about how many gearchanges there are in a lap around nurburgring.. hundreds. Gtrs gearbox alone probably gives it 10 full seconds on the porsche turbo
  14. Are you serious? How is it going to be in dealerships and advertised overnight? And $170k sucks! I was stretching for 150k, 170 is going to set me back a few months
  15. Agreed. But i think price is a direct relation to the level of sophistication and exclusivity.. Hence Melb is quite cheap. Ofcourse im going to be biased about this, but why cant they make a Brisbane/Gold coast street race similar to the Gold Coast Indy? I know indy roads are probably not upto f1 standard, but im sure they could find a good series of roads to make one somewhere. I like melb, but i think even a Sydney street night race would be amazing.. And would definately sell out. They could have that round-about near the opera house as a hairpin lol Look how well valencia and singapore did, its a given that it will do well aslong as the track design is good and its in a populated city with lots of money. Plus melb is a little far for most syd/bris people. Having it in syd would center the location and put the race right in the middle of a massively populated city But owell, guess its melb for awhile now
  16. Where from? I want a full in car lap in high quality mpeg etc Melb gov is too lame to have a night race, it was offered.. The politicians making the decisions here are all just too old and probably know nothing about F1. They are too stubborn to realise it would most likely compeltely sell out and finally make them some money! Singpore sold out over 100,000 tickets at approx 1k each. Thats $100 Million from ticket sales alone, for 1 race!. F1 is the most lucrative sporting enterprise on the planet, only the world cup soccer makes more.. But its every 4 years. So effectively f1 makes 3 times more Suzuka night race next year if it happens will be great
  17. Hated it. Hosts dont fit, especially not when they are trying to emulate the original show. The guy who did the shark stuff just irritates me. That track is the most baron and and pointless piece of tarmac in australia, is it an old go kart track!? I sincerly doubt that it will go past the 8 episode contract. But then again, they voted bush in again so who knows these days
  18. edit= double post.
  19. Yeah ive been watching F1 religiously since the start of 2005, havent missed a qualy or race.. And lewis mania has even captured the commentators. It can get really annoying and sometimes i wonder if they realise they are spending 70% of the time talking about lewis and how he could do this and if he did this etc etc I know they are english commentators, but come on, unbiased reporting please. I remember how much complaining there was about the coverage percentage that shumi got, well i can tell you this is even worse! There is 19 other drivers out there. And two of them are World Champions. And i hate to say it guys, but this new influx of f1 fans because of hamilton isnt a good thing. Its a bunch of people who only know lewis-era f1 and give no credit to anyone who came before that. Infact, almost everyone ive had in-person discussions with who likes lewis only started watching f1 this year or last. I support Fernando because i believe he is the best current forumula one driver in the world, and im not the only one. Watching him end ferrari's and schumi reign in an epic struggle race by race through 2005-2006 was glorious He never sat in the best car and team from day one, he dragged his team into the lead and maintained it. Much like Micheal did with Ferrari, it took him 4 years to get them winning. I wish lewis started with a more humble foundation and team like everyone else has. Maybe the drivers and fans would respect him more when he wins then. He is a great driver, but dont kidd yourself guys. F1 is no joke. The difference between the top drivers is almost immeasurable. There is no where to hide time in this sport/business. Lewis isnt some super-god alien who came to earth and is better than everyone. If he started his f1 career at honda/force india/williams i bet no one would even know who he is. Its not like lewis came along and is actually better than everyone. He simply took the best seat in town and no longer has a team mate who can beat him. If he loses the championship again this year, im going to smile for a week. Considering he lost it last year at this point when he was 17? points in the lead is absolutely ridiculous. For the record, Ferrari smashed mclaren in singapore. I dont know if everyone took notice, but massa was pulling away and kimi was catching lewis.. And Massa came in on lap 17! So he wasnt fuelled light Stupid mistakes aside, i still think Massa's recent form will take him to the title. And rightfully so.
  20. I really hope lewis doesnt win it this year. Maybe if he does his head/ego will get so big he wont be able to fit in the helmet anymore and will have to retire I can see him fitting in at hollywood, maybe he'l get fat and release a range of crappy drinks and junkfood.. Sort of englands 'Ian Thorpe' Its a phenomenon i tell you, he's so easy to hate. I think Kovalainens results and consistancy this year show how much the team is 100% behind lewis. Similar circumstances are what helped Schumi win a rediculous 7 titles.
  21. Wow, that was much better than i expected. Im upset i didnt go! There will be many more night races in the near future I cannot believe how incompetent Ferrari have been this year. Its exacly what i didnt want. If lewis wins the championship then so be it, but it should be a full on fight.. Not handed to him on a plate. Ferrari are very strong at Brazil, so i guess Massa needs to finish well ahead of lewis in both Japan and China now. It was great to see fernando on the top step again, its been way too long.. And another reason i wish i went!!
  22. Yes, with two consecutive world titles Well ive got no issue with being exhausted over there, infact i planned on doing the holiday properly so i get to the point where i actually miss home. Kyoto interests me most because its more of 'old japan'. And Tokyo is going to make brisbane feel like a rural town in the outback lol Snowboarding isnt a big issue, ide prefer to theme my snowboarding holiday specifically for that. Ill probably goto Vancouver/Whistler in Canada to snowboard But yeah, ill stop hijacking the thread now..
  23. Great advice, i was wondering if you could go in historical places etc Ill pm you about that sometime at the end of the year. Maybe when im over there we can catch up and have an argument, whos better... Alonso or Hamilton haha
  24. lol the world Anti-Lewis foundation is just getting bigger and bigger. I hope massa wins and kimi finishes ahead of lewis. (For the constructors points) Would be the ultimate rub in for ronnie dennis to loose the championship again. Its crazy to think its been a decade since mclaren won a title. So what do they do? Get a sure thing by hiring the double champion and then end up alienating him and putting their efforts with the rookie. I guess ron got what he deserved. And if mclaren doesnt win a championship soon, we all know where the mistake was made. Wouldnt it be ironic if lewis wins the drivers but ferrari win the contructors? I think ferrari will be alot stronger assuming the temps stay warm. Apparantly they have sorted their wet weather issues.. It was actually their brakes, not the tires. And i hope its a dry race or maybe slightly wet. If its full wet there will be no race at all.. There is such little grip with walls surrounding you everywhere. Personally i dont care who wins the title. I just want it to be a fight, like it was between alonso and schumacher for two years. F1 should never be easy, winning a championship especially. I think lewis has it too easy having the entire mclaren supercorporation to cater for his every need and no team mate to challenge him.
  25. Yeah i think Japan will be most enjoyable if you go at a time where both of you can soak up the culture and surroundings without a million tourists in the way. I really want to see Autosalon, but im probably just going to make that a seperate and specific holiday for it. Strolling around Kyoto together will be much more romantic and memerable than waiting in lines with heaps of americans yapping etc lol Plus like everyone has said, there is plenty of car stuff to see in Japan if you cant go for Autosalon anyway.
