  1. Right, so I'm getting the bits 'n pieces together to convert my Ceffy to use an RB25DET gearbox and one of the differences is the speedo drive (electronic in an R33 Skyline vs mechanical in the Cefiro). So...instead of buying the Navara speedo drive, mangling it and then having to either live with my speedo being out or going to get it adjusted....is there a relatively cost-effective way to swap to using an electronic speedo? Did a bit of Googling but nothing obvious came up.... Cheers, Matt
  2. No, not at all. Oz. I guess I was just lucky that no-one else bid on it. It *was* an RB20E + auto...and the base-base-base Cefiro model - it doesn't even have a rear windscreen wiper!!
  3. At this stage (just spent 3 weeks dropping an RB26 + new Buddy Club Junior Spec dampers + full nolethane bush kit) I think that it would take some serious folding to persuade me to part with my Cefiro. Bought in 2004 for $400 at auction, came with doilies on all the seats - lol. I believe that I'm only the 2nd owner (deceased estate auction) and despite doing my very best amateur-hour mechanic impression, car is awesome, cut-price M5 for a working slob.
  4. Is this problem solved then? I'm looking to buy a front swaybar for my Ceffy. From what has been stated above it looks like I should be using a GTR front sway bar from Whiteline??
  5. Dude, I've got a TD06-19C? I know it's not a "20G" but it's fully rebuilt and has never been used since the rebuild (I had it checked out but Per4ormanz here in Perth). The wastegate actuator is broken but that shouldn't be a problem if you were going to use an external gate. $750 + postage, PM me if interested.
  6. Hey guys, I've got an A31 Cefiro with a '92 RB20DET conversion running an RB25 terb.... A few weeks ago I noticed that I started to get white smoke coming out of the exhaust on idle - but only intermittently. It doesn't happen under load or when I'm just driving around, *only* when I stop at a set of lights or so. And only once every 4 or 5 times I stop. Ever more strangely I'll stop, sit there for a few seconds and *then* notice some white smoke (definitely smells like oil). And it really only lasts a couple of seconds, although a fair bit comes out in those few seconds. Any ideas? It's driving me nuts! Matt
  7. Bam, I've got both front seats (in excellent condition) if you want to PM me? In Perth too.... Cheers, Matt
  8. Definitely same as 32, not s13....
  9. I'd swap the AFM. I had an almost identical problem - changed the entire fuel system, CAS, ignition module etc etc with no luck. Finally tracked down and changed the AFM and all has been sweet since. Matt
  10. The service Toshi provides is *not* expensive. In order to re-map an ECU it means he has to get (pay) someone to desolder the chip and insert a socket, then remap your chip on the dyno. At $300 exchange this is CHEAP. Assume 1-2 hours to desolder and insert a socket, 2-3 hours in dyno and remapping + travel time. And then there's the followup service. This means that he's charging around $90 / hour to completely change the tune of your engine. Try getting some else with tuning knowledge and see how much they charge! Once you've got the exchange ECU, re-tunes are fairly easy on the dyno and would presumably cost a lot less. And, once you've had the tune, you may just be happy with your car for a lot longer, thus delaying the inevitable *MORE* mods!! My 2c....
  11. OK, went to the dyno yesterday and managed 222.7rwhp @ 5800rpm - this is an increase of 25rwhp on the same dyno, hotter day with 1psi less boost. It *would* have run more but I need a bigger cooler to allow more airflow after the 5800rpm mark. At the moment I'm getting flow issues past this point and it screws my AFR's(the map currently assumes that I *can* flow the requisite air and so gives more fuel!!), thus power drops off. So I'd guess-timate that with a bigger cooler I'd be somewhere around the 235rwhp mark which represents around 40rwhp extra (and it has A LOT more mid-range now). Note that all of this is done on a dyno that reads fairly conservatively. Quarter mile run is this weekend so fingers crossed....
  12. Dude, I have a stock R32 cooler. Matt
  13. I got a Toshi map and I'd describe it in one word..."awesome"!!! Thanks Toshi!!!!
  14. R31 handbrake "sort of" works. Not a bolt in fit but if you're a bit handy you can work it out. Biggest problem with it is that the line needs to be extended to fit into the Ceffy...costs about $60 to do it (in Aus) but the hard part is finding a shop that can do the longer line. S13 handbrake is your best bet.
