  1. Hi Dudes, I just replaced my parkers with white LEDs, see attached pic. I'm just a little worried that I might be hassled by cops, because they do give off a slight blueish tinge, especially when the headlights are on to provide the contrast. What do you guys think?
  2. Yo dudes, Some dude is selling brand new GTech Pro meters on ebay for US$48!!! ($US15 for shipping to Autralia, but if a few of you buy together, it's only US$7 shipping for each additional unit) Below is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=2436554762 I just bought one myself. Doesn't matter how good/crap it is, AU$92 shipped at the current exchange rate has got to be a bargain. Just thought I'd share the news, but you better hurry, coz there's less than 100 left. Cheers.
  3. That sticker is just a reminder. The English translation is: "Timing belt change (underlined part): Please change at 100,000 km"
  4. There are no spare wires in the door. However, there are unused spaces (holes with no metal contacts) in the wiring connectors where the wiring from the door plugs into the chassis. When I installed my alarm, I put new contacts in the unused holes in the connectors and routed the wires for the door lock actuator through the original wiring sheath. This gave a very neat look but did involve a lot of labour, which is probably why the tools who did yours took the easy way out. Cheers
  5. Check your boost gauge hose, there could be a leak or crack in the hose.
  6. "Their communications appear to be organised," That's coz everyone's got their group buy CBs...
  7. If you look real hard, you can see that famous face on Mars too... The pyramids were built by Martians...
  8. Make sure there's no fuse missing or blown in the driver's side fuse box under the dash. If the fuse labeled "starter signal" (in Japanese) is missing or blown, the car will be hard to start when cold. Do a search for the jap-english translation of the fuse box. Also, check the coolant temperature sensor. Just a few thoughts.
  9. Another solution: before you get out of the car, open the door (obviously) and touch the ground outside with your hand. Doing so discharges the static electricity - no more zaps.
  10. why not replace parkers with white LEDs?
  11. Why not replace them all? high brightness red LEDs are not that expensive.
  12. I have an alarm that will automatically relock the doors if anyone tries to unlock without disarming the alarm first.
  13. It's not petrol, it's electric. Can't afford a petrol one. It has digital proportional steering and throttle, independent front suspensions, diff for the back wheels and headlights + taillights...
  14. Yo dudes, Mine has working headlights and tail lights.

    R33 Timing Belt

Thanks guys. I bought my car last year with 54000km on the odometer. I was a bit sus about that since it's a 10 year old car. Having read through some of the forum threads, I think it's pretty likely that the odometer has been wound back. I figure that it's safer for me to change the belt ASAP.

    R33 Timing Belt

Thanks guys. Nissan reckons it'll take 5-6 hours to do the job. Does that sound right?
  18. Hi All, I enquired with Nissan in the city about changing my timing belt and was quoted $580 including labour. WTF? I know the belt is only worth around 100 bucks and they charge $480 for labour? What a gigantic bloody rip off. Do you guys reckon if I buy the belt and take it down to Midas, they'd be able to do it? Midas quoted $350 to do the belt on my folks' Verada which as I understand is more labour intensive than the Skyline.
  19. mmm, come to think of it, that makes sense Booster. The acc is merely an "enable" wire rather than the power wire.
  20. 1 bar = 100 kPa 1 atm = 101.325 kPa 1 atm = 1.01325 bar 1 bar = 0.9869 atm
  21. You can connect the existing acc to both the headunit and the relay.
  22. To create a new acc line from the existing one to run heavy current devices, all you need is a relay. See attached pic for wiring details. Since the middle pin (normally closed contact) is not used, you can use a single pole single throw (SPST) relay. You can get an 30A SPST automotive relay from jaycar for 6 bucks. A matching socket with cables is also available for $5.90. Cheers.
  23. Dude, running a fused wire from the battery is fine. The head unit shouldn't turn on without ignition, because the direct 12V line is only there to power the memory circuit so you don't lose your settings. Main power for the head unt is drawn from acc.
  24. why is it illegal?

    Disillusioned

I was driving home this arvo in a 60 zone obeying the speed limit. All of a sudden, this cop car came flying past me at 80+k with no sirens or anything. I saw him again at the lights and he took off really hard and continued to drive down the road at least 20k over the speed limit. Now how do they expect the average joe bloe to obey the speed limit when they themselves show such disregard for the law? I was disillusioned alright...
