don't respray unless you cut through the clearcoat. you are cutting and polishing the clear to make it as smooth (and as a result, glossy) as possible. if you go over it again with the same method as before after that with the paint gun, chances are it will look like it did before.

^thanks! Update coming. Been slower than expected progress on the trunk. There is so much surface area on it (slightly more than the R33 door) and it's curved every which way. Looks good though I think.

haha, I'll be honest, I was like... what the hell is a rocker cover?? I had to look up the difference in terminology. valve covers.. ahhhh now I get it! I even wrote aluminium for you guys. :-) As far as under the hood, I don't know if I'll really draw the theme in, because it just gets so dirty in there. I'll clean it every so often, but I could only consider detailing the engine bay if I was building a trailer queen or something.

well here's today's update. Finished from the pillar all the way to the tail light above the first body line, and also removed the door so it could be inside with the heat while it's worked on. Front Back Workshop also got a 100mm aluminium steering extension.

we parked the car inside so we could worry about finishing it, and the clear will go on afterwards. there were a few parts that were already cleared, but I might give them another go just for fun.

I asked some Japanese guys if "Rosto Birdseh Racing" sounded like a good race car name and they approved. Haha. Oh well. Rosto Birdseh no GTR wa ichibanda!!!! See that sounds pretty good if you can imagine it coming through the intercom at the racetrack.

maybe!, all i know is that if free lift tickets to snowboarding didn't cut it as payment, I would be out of luck. if we take a very reserved 20USD/hour wage for this times 68 hours, that's almost 1,400USD. in actuality the rate would be higher, and the car still isn't 50% done!!! thanks!

12-15 so far. they actually don't run out of ink before the tip becomes unusable. trunk, more done. more body drawing. also got the other front fender off slowly but surely.

Astro- actually, I was going to repaint the car anyway, and she asked could she draw over a scratched area on the front bumper and I said sure, and then it wound up that the whole bumper got finished. Then we just decided to do the whole car from there. here's what I did today.. ..haha, not really that much.. I boufght some new lugnuts that match the GTR logo.

haha, honestly, the tips get damaged too badly to finish using the markers, so they still get thrown out before they are finished.

She just draws it freehand. No planning out. Kinda crazy to watch too! Thanks to everyone for the encouragement! Hopefully I can get some tires ordered today. Thats the goal. The weak offset wheels gotta go!

definitely a keeper! worked on it some more today, but no new pics of the work.. but I did pick these up... 18x9.5 +15 Enkei NT-03s. They are made specifically for GTRs, well... were made.. they are discontinued now. They will not be white for long.

^Thank you! Here's a few new pics. Still working on the same fender. I've been working on securing a place to do the body drawing as it is -8 degrees Celsius here and finally got one. A friend will be out of town so his garage and a kerosene heater are my new best friends. The work will probably shift to the body of the car while he is gone as we have to take advantage of the opportunity! and here's where I helped with the drawing on the fender MORE TO COME!!!!!

thanks for the props! Most people seem to think it's neat. No one has said it sucked to my face yet. Lol. Honestly the reason I decided to do it was because I didn't want a silver GTR at all. I couldn't get my hands on a Midnight Purple so I settled for what was easy to find set on repainting it from the first moment. I thought that I might as well let Allison do her thing and if it sucks then repaint as originally planned, no harm done. So that's the mindset.
