  1. Put me down Brad - won't be huge numbers with the new "response snails" bolted on 'tho
  2. Hey Brendon - don't wanna hijack your thread with my woes. Actually not that bad - just a minor leaky headgasket late last year, but gave me an "excuse" to drop out the motor and strip it down. One thing has led to another and now have.......new head, oversize valves, drag head gasket, smaller -5 terbs, smaller IC, Tomei manifolds, smaller Nismo plenum. Am now a full on "response adict" lol. Gunna cost me top end (and prolly prevent me cracking the elusive 10s 1/4), but should give me a serious amount of mid range torque. Trying to get everything back together for MV - maybe possible but will only have a "skid tune" at best lol Looking forward to a big season of sprints, track and Targa events
  3. Prolly more than I can say for my bloody Datsun!
  4. I've just put my Ford dedicated gas (Egas) ute into the local dealer for it's 30,000km service (the first since I've owned it) and have been told that the service cost is expected to be more than $400! Upon questioning what needs to be changed, it is only the oil, filter and air filter that will be changed - the rest is labour (at $125.75/hr thanks very much) to inspect the gas system! With the decreasing margine between petrol and gas, the increased cunsumption of gas compared to petrol and the very high service costs, it appears there really isn't a huge saving in these vehicles. Comments?
  5. Head gasket leaks can be diagnosed by using a hydrocarbon test kit connected to the radiator. Basically this shows if there is any gas leaking into the cooling system. This may only occur under high load, so ideally if they have access to a dyno it makes the test easier.
  6. A datalogit and simple wideband set-up really isn't that expensive and is pretty straight forward to setup. It also helps you fine tune areas of the maps that will never be seen under dyno conditions. Drop me a PM next time you come up to Perth and I'll show you my setup. Gav
  7. Another recommendation for the Innovate product. I now have an LC1 with an XD16 gauge. Integrates very well with the Datalogit and is a permanent install install now with a single USB port for logging all information. The online manual is quite detailed in how to install and integrate with the Datalogit and the forum gives good advice for any problems (I had none and all worked first go).
  8. Regardless of what boost control valve you use, one thing that you can certainly do to help yourself is to ensure you have wastegate actuators rated at a boost pressure close to what you plan to run. If they are rated at much lower than the manifold pressure you want to run, obviously the boost controller has to work that much harder at controlling boost at wide open throttle.
  9. paulr33 suffers from MAPphobia But in all seriousness, talk your tuner and discuss what he is most comfortable with. I have seen Djetro installs on standard GT-Rs make power gains over the standard MAF version PFC without losing drivability.
  10. It is an R200 diff, although this isn't really helpfull in that it refers to the crownwheel (being 200mm diameter, hence the R200 tag) and pinion set only. R200 centres are interchangable, however.

  12. Item: Bilstein/Kings Suspension Age: less than 5,000 kms Condition: excellent Price: $1,000 ono To Fit: R32 GT-R Location: Perth Contact: via PM Comment: approx 25mm lower than standard ride height. These are a great road/track setup and only being sold as I've fitted more "track oriented" suspension.
  13. As above I've been running (actually punishing) an HKS Step2 2.8L kit for well over a year now. I certainly have no problems with recommending this kit. Presently off the road as I'm downsizing terbs and induction tract to suit circuit work a bit better. You are welcome to drop over and go for a quick spin in a couple of weeks if you like. Feel free to drop me a PM if you have any queries. Cheers Gav
  14. Need a new or good condition IC for R32 GT-R. Ideally 75 to 100mm thickness. Require ASAP
  15. I've now got the info - can't share it as it's a secret, however.
  16. Can someone confirm the inlet and outlet diameter on the factory IC? (80mm from memory but need to know for sure).
  17. I fitted an Innovate LC1 unit and hooked it up to my Dataloggit. Worked first time without any problems and there is good support from their forums.
  18. Don't worry about that - plenty of rear wheel drives out there manage to "shame" me :laughing-smiley-014:
  19. The transfer case uses a wet clutch system. These clutch plates only have a finite life, and 10+ years is well and truly in the "finite" catagory. When you rebuild the case you can squeeze some extra plates in there (along with a couple of extra "tricks") to give a really quick uptake. Combine this with an ATESSA controller and your R32 will be transformed on the track.
  20. You can modify the ECU loom for the R33 GTST to be able to use the D-Jetro. I Don't know if this is the same for the R34 GTT (probably depends on the ECU plug shape as much as anything).
  21. I'm in for WA again
  22. Before you remove or modify it, make sure you get the suspension looked over carefully and any worn parts (bushes, tie rod ends) etc replaced if necessary. Many have confused worn components with HICAS "doing it's thing".
  23. I really like the look of the chrome ceramic coating on the manifold, but I'd be worried about it taking the heat. Does anyone know how well this copes with extreme heat? (I've had my stainless manifolds glowing bright orange!).
