  1. Before I order a set from over east, does anyone know of a place that sells ADR approved braided brake lines in Perth?
  2. No he's sorted with another one. Anyway, this one sat with him for almost 3 years lol

  4. I'm at 580 awhp with my GT-RS terbs and 100% injector duty with 26 odd psi. This is also fairly conservative ignition timing. I'd say that with ample fueling and more aggressive timing, you should be able to get in the order of 620 to 630 awhp with these terbs on 98 octane pump fuel. This assumes head porting, long duration/high lift cams etc.
  5. There differing opinions in this area - speak with your tuner and see what he is most comfortable with.
  6. I'm running GT-RS terbs on an HKS 2.8L stroker. A great set up and plenty of top end with bearable lag.......but......I made the choice to go down this route before the TO4Z was available. I've seen dynos of TO4Z equipped RB26 engines (standard and stroked cranks) overlaid over my graph by my tuner. Believe me whe I tell you that these single give NOTHING away at lower revs to the GT-RS but just run away on the top end. In hindsight, I would thoroughly recommend the TO4Z over the GT-RS option if this is the top end power that you are chasing.
  7. You're in luck - there's a great gearbox rebuilder just near you! Behind the pub and down the lane (3rd driveway on the left). BTW - where are you located?

    11.1 Second Time Slip

    From the album: Gav's Gallery

Car ran well but was let down by old and hard tyres
  9. I was about to mention that - my 680cc injectors think there are only 2 states of being at the moment - 0% or 100% duty lol
  10. Good luck Paul - I should have taken your offer for the MT's the other week :-)
  11. The HKS "stroker"pistons have a different wrist pin height compared to the "standard" pistons. It sound like this is how HKS accomodate for the difference in stroke length. Obviously Tomei does it by using different length rods.
  12. Interesting - I had always assumed the rods for the RB26 and RB28 cranks were the same (for HKS anyway). I'm using RB26 rods (Pauter) with an HKS RB28 crank so far without problems (touch wood!)
  13. SK Please check your PM from me regarding wrong part supplied in kit. Cheers Gav
  14. I've run my GT-RS on both a standard capacity and now with a 2.8L crank. As many have said (although not all), the set up on a 2.6L was really too laggy for my liking. On a 2.8L, well that's a different matter altogether! My vote is 25/30s for a 2.6L.
  15. Paul GTS-t VSPEC has been running an RB26 D-Jetro PGC on his RB25 over here in WA for quite some time now. He has retained the VCT and also made it adjustable (i.e. rev dependent switch point) by adding a third party switch (i.e. your option 1). I believe the point at which it activates makes significant difference to the power/torque curve. Drop him a PM for further details
  16. No, just a bad launch on that one - thanks for the vid 'thou!
  17. Was a great day and thoroughly enjoyed it even though I didn't crack a 10 (best was 11.1 with a sh1tty 1.7 60' due to very "average" tyres). Lessons learnt: * 2 year old hard and bald street tyres don't help the 60' times any * Torque split controllers are "good things" * Forgetting to switch back into 4wd for launch is a "bad thing"
  18. Give Reecey a slap or me
  19. Hi Paul Did have a run back in Jan, but fried a brand new HKS twin plate clutch. Now have a new Excedy twin that is supposed to be able to take a bit more punishment. Would love to join the "banned"club, but mid to low 11s are more on the cards given the sh1tty rubber that I've got on ATM. Enjoy sunny Africa
  20. Ahhh.... I've just moved back to Oz and realised I've left a lot of GT-R info on my old computer overseas - including an article on how to set up a manual hydraulic transfer case lock-up! I'll see if I can get the article back from old contacts, but from memory it is common in Japanese drag racing circles to use a manual hydraulic lever to pump up pressure in the ATESSA system to lock up the clutch packs. The pressure is held until you manually release the pressure via a solenoid controlled by a remote (and conveniently mounted) button which then converts back to rear wheel drive. An intermediate bleed valve can be inserted and adjusted so that the pressure is released slowly, thereby progressively releasing drive from the front axles. As it's an electronic solenoid releasing the pressure, there is no reason why this couldn't be activated automatically based on a signal from the vehicle speed. Give me a day and I'll see what I can retrieve back.
  21. I'm running the same rims (Workmeister S1) in 18x10 +20 with 265 rubber and they j-u-s-t clear (had to flair the inner lips on the guards slightly). I guess the 275 on 18x9.5 would be around the same.
  22. I'll be running. As I've been away from WA for a while any SAUWA guys should say g'day (and remind me of your names! lol). Cheers Gav
  23. Try the SAU site sponsor - Nengun Nengun Read this page carefully as you need extra parts. Are you SURE you have a tuner where you are who is experienced with installing and tuning D-Jetro? This ECU is definately NOT plug and play and there is no way I would even attempt to program this without either Datalogit or Apexi software.
  24. Mate - some advice if you don't mind. You MUST get to your GP and register that you have been in a motor vehicle accident. Even though your neck may not feel so bad now, it CAN come back to haunt you. I wrote off my S15 a few years ago and walked away without probs (or so I thought). Pain didn't set in until 3 to 6 months later and I was still receiving physio (at my cost) up to a year later! Hopefully you are indeed 100% OK - but better toi be safe than sorry. Good luck and all the best Gav
