  1. You may be right - it amazes me I get that much flow through the pair of -5s I already have. But.......I like a challenge and am a born sceptic until I try or see for myself.
  2. OK - update but no real progress to report - only excuses. As I didn't want to junk my recently rebuilt 2860-5 units, I've now sourced a pair of turbine covers from the states. Hopefully they'll get here early next week. Also ordered new ID2000 injectors and fancy billet fuel rail to match the 14mm injectors (good work Carlos from Millenium Motorsport by the way - great to see high quality Aussie engineering!). Terbs are now off and new GTX units on next week. Agree it's gunna be a tight fit and will get Brad Stacey (WA motorsport guys will know this name well) onto the custom ally inlet and outlet piping the following week. As per usual - behind schedule and way over budget. Watch this space.
  3. No not yet - there are a few ways to skin the cat on this one. Given that the new GTX terbs have a 3" inlet (much larger than the 2" GT versions), I am thinking of new 3" piping from the pods to the compressor inlet. Perth Garrett dealer tells me Garrett have 13 in stock (I assume he means Garrett Australia?). Anyway, part number is 430609-230 and retail inc GST is just shy of $400 per unit.
  4. Just arrived - maybe first pair in Oz? 3" inlet with 2" outlet on compressor housing Funky anti-surge compressor wheel Naked turbine wheel Hopefully new design actuator brackets will make life easier on the install

  10. There is a few week backlog on these, however my terbs are off now. Can anyone help me out? Cheers Gav
  11. Probably never as the market for BR26 applications is declining obviously. However, you can order the turbine covers seperately. As stated only the compressor inlet and outlet use slip on hoses rather than bolted flanges
  12. Funny you should ask. These were released in the USA this week and I have a pair of these bad boys (GTX2863R) on the way to me as we speak. I'll swap over my existing turbine housings, so exhaust fittment should be OK. There will be some cut and shut work on my HKS hard pipe induction kit required, however as the GTX terbs use straight hose connections in and out of the compressor housing rather than the bolted flanges. Ordered the new adjustable actuator brackets along with the new Garrett 22psi actuators. Also need to upgrade my injectors yet again as the HKS 1000cc units are maxing out with E85. Time for some ID 2000 units I think. Hope to have Xspeed start on the job late next week with hopefully a comparison graph available the following week. Watch this space.
  13. It looks quite neat and of good quality. Personally I run a non-return valve after each pump but before they join via a "Y" piece. Non-return valves ensure one pump won't fight against the other if pressures are mismatched. The "converter block" on the unit you link too will offer a degree of restriction also due to the sharp change of direction the fuel goes through leaving each pump. I would prefer a "Y" adapter. Overall, it will do the job I'm sure, just that there is technically a better way of doing it. Just my opinion, of course.

  17. Lots of topics on this. Check by substitution from good car: * Coils * Ignitor * Coil harness (especially the grounding eyelet) * Plug heat range * Plug gap
  18. Yer, yer, yer.......anyway to the OP - if you get to a stage where the coilpacks or sparkplugs are givving hiccups on E85 I can't say enough good things about the Billet Performance CDI kit. This really lets you get the best out of the E85 with regards to aggressive fueling and timing in the mid range.
  19. No - didn't have the centre plate. OS now make to order with a 3 month lead time so I'm going a different route. That will open a whole can of hairy caterpillars so back on topic to the GTX28 series!
  20. Well, I've just destroyed my second OS Giken gearset and about the 5th standard box, but that's for another thread. You know how it is - power is addictive but mid range torque is the stuff you sell your soul for
  21. Ummmmm......could be
  22. I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of these turbos. With the same size exhaust housing and wheel as the existing 2860-5 units but a slightly larger compressor side I'm hoping these may well offer the elusive "GT-RS" type power levels with much less lag and shuffling problems. It appears that it won't be a straight swap propositon as the compressor inlet is now a generic hose type fitting and the exhaust housing will be unlilkely to be offered in the Nissan "compact 5 bolt" design, however the exhaust housing can be swapped from the 2860 unit. Garrett suggest that comparing same size units, the new billet compressor wheel design offers 10% more flow, however I'm thinking that if I going to go the change then I may as well go the 2863 over the 2860.
