Spotted, late yesterday afternoon, a neat white GT-T, FMIC, zorst, driving along Hindmarsh Drive from Western Creek all the way over the hill towards N'bundah. Sounded good; anyone on here?

I Confess: I'm In A Love Affair...
LTSJayce replied to LTSJayce's topic in Australian Capital Territory
You know he wants it, go on! Seriously, tho'; the GT-R was always a long term dream of mine, and will stay with me until...well, it doesn't bear thinking about! So the tattoo was a respect thing for me...and will also stay with me to the grave!! -
There can be only one...R32.

Police Radar And Speed Camera Rules & Reg's
LTSJayce replied to LTSJayce's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Can you ask her if she's married? LOL! Yes, it seems we are slowly, but surely, been taken advantage of, and not in a "can I buy you another drink before the taxi ride home" kind of way! I agree with John that ACT police don't need to provoke trouble too much, as the idiots usually point themselves out easily enough, but there is some flaunting of basic rules that I'd like to check out...and I'd like you all to know about them, too! Thanks for the links, S.P.; I'll be into them shortly. -
G'day crew. I've noticed over the last six months or so a sneakier approach from both the local constabulary and the revenue raising white vans. I've seen police officers cowering behind trees with radar guns, camera vans parked halfway down steep descents, unmarked utes and much more. Whilst I've not been 'done', there's fair enough, and then there's what some of these revenue raisers are up to. If I'm driving like a tw*t, and get done for it, then I'm the first one to put my hand up and say it was my fault, but with all this zero tolerance b.s. and anti-hoon laws, I've been trying to find out what rights ANY motorist has. I always thought if you got pulled over for speeding, you had the right to ask to see the radar gun reading. So if the radar operator is 200 metres further back up the road when the car that's had you radioed in pulls you over, ol' mate isn't going to be so happy to trot said distance to show you what you're entitled to. Or that a speed camera couldn't be set up within so many metres from a corner, or on a descent... I also thought any police car, unmarked or otherwise, geeing someone into street racing was 'baiting', but apparently it's still being done. The list goes on, and IMHO, I think they're overstepping the mark. The law will always be on the law's side, naturally, but where it's getting blatantly flaunted, I'd like to know if we have any rights. So what I'd like to know from you all is where any official legislation can be found, on the net or otherwise, that is up to date, on the operating protocols for both police officers and the U.S. speed camera vans. I'd rather not know any heresay or anecdotal evidence, just what the rules are. I'd imagine it's different state to state, so the A.C.T. rules are the most applicable here, but if someone finds the N.S.W. ones, that might help the Queanbeyan crew. Feel free to PM me if this search might get you noticed in a way you'd rather not, otherwise, post 'em up if you find them!

I'm off to check the Lotto ticket again today, LOL! There will be very gradual forward progress over the next 6 months, then hopefully a flurry of activity that might, MIGHT see her surface somewhere at the end of '09. Unless the ticket comes in, in which case it'll be six weeks!! Believe me, and I know you're feelin' my pain, when I say it breaks my heart to see her sitting still. I keep telling myself "It WILL be worth the wait, it WILL be worth the wait, it WILL be worth the wait..." -

Yup. It had just done so for a bit too long. My mate confessed that he should've given it an overhaul a few months before it went BOOM. Ah, well: he learnt from all of this! -

I personally know of a turbo that came to grief when just that happened, albeit with nearly 50 psi of pressure, and many hard years of drag use on it's resume beforehand. For whatever reason, the BOV's (two of them) basically didn't operate just once(we looked for a line off, etc, but it all looked OK at the time), so the huffer was always the first point of failure in it's trim. T'was an impressive failure, too. The rebuilders at GCG said the BOV's had to be the reason for the failure, at those levels. Who am I to doubt them? Said car has changed set up(from a 1.5JZ to a 2JZ, and a BST to twin high rise), so here we go again... So, in line with the topic, my friend was pi**ed off at faulty BOV's!! -

LTSJayce replied to LTSJayce's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Both can happen, but the first is guaranteed if you don't have the second one. MIVEC is right; anything turbocharged will have a BOV for this reason above all. Maybe there's some application out there in the world that's turbo'd without a BOV(combine harvester? marine ship's engine?)- can anyone here enlighten us on turbo'd non-BOV'd applications? It surely wont be a modern car engine. Back on topic, and including the BOV side, I can't stand 'new' modifiers getting their first vent to atmo BOV and setting it so it vents at the slightest hint of closed throttle. 1500 rpm gently off the lights, then WHOOSH...well done, son: you're officially 'Too Fast, Too Furious', and fooly hektic, too. -
From my industries point of view, I would have said Brooks!

Thankyou for the response I feel was warranted here, re: Porkas, pricing and warranties. It seems there are many keyboard warriors keen for the "you'd be mad to buy a XXX over a ZZZ, as the ZZZ is obviously a better car" argument. At least you've owned a reference point (or six!). I would expect a higher percentage of R35 owners will modify their cars; it's only natural! I'm curious to see which way cars get done. The Americans seem keen on 'blinging' them out with heavier 'chromies' and garish body kits, the Japanese will always do their thing, and it seems us lot will go down the performance first path, albeit cautiously. I shudder to think what will happen as the 35 becomes more affordable to the masses and the candy paintjobs, 24" rim, slammed to the ground, doof doof crowd start laying their hands on them. (I never thought I'd say that sentence). I hope natural selection takes over, and the deserving keep their supercars whilst those that aren't up to it go back to $100K+ Commondore-come-taxis.

9 Sec. Gtr Race/street Car
LTSJayce replied to Swiper the Fox's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
I'll put this out there now: whomever may be so lucky to command ownership of Twoogle better look after her, or else I'll be comin' for ya! Twoogle is the only other GT-R I hold dear to my heart, so the new owner better love her at least as much as I do, LOL!(Do I sound like a stalker, or what???) -

Hobbies - What You Do When Your Not At Work
LTSJayce replied to nerm's topic in Australian Capital Territory
When I'm not at work, I spend time hurting for hours on end...something like this: I like tattoos and piercing stuff; sadly, most of my work is hidden away due to being in retail. Lately, I've been doing house stuff, like building a bigger deck to entertain on. If you add a Kiwi accent to that last sentence, it's kinda funny. I'm usually found on a bike such as this: , in a car or running somewhere outside of work hours. I've dropped the ball with SAU stuff and the rebuild of my nearly-imaginary GT-R, but I'm finding new inspiration...
