Here’s a thought: the R32 V Spec has four spot front and two spot rear factory Brembo calipers. From memory, Ferrari’s F50 front 6 spot Brembos are the same model type, obviously with more pistons. In the theme of keeping the car ‘looking factory’, but upgrading the braking power...has anyone ever attempted this idea: Swap the front four piston calipers to the rear and fit 6 piston F50 calipers to the front, with upsized rotes on the front(at least...rear upsize?). Has anyone tried or achieved this? I’m sure there’s bracket fab’ and brake bias issues, maybe ABS issues, master cylinder upgrades required, whatever? Just throwing it out there...

17” Motorsport Tyre Options?
LTSJayce replied to LTSJayce's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
As an additional thought: 265/40/17 on 9” rims: has anyone run this width and had any rubbing issues on their R32 GTR? I don’t want rubbing, and I am def’ NOT rolling guards to accommodate rubber... -
17” Motorsport Tyre Options?
LTSJayce replied to LTSJayce's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Good feedback, team! I’ve got some solid info now, thank you! -
G’day all. I need to get some better quality 17” tyres for the 32, something with a bit of a trackday capability, stickier for performance(I’m not so worried about wet weather or mileage issues). It seems most quality tyre manufacturers don’t make much/anything in 17” anymore. I’d like something along the lines of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, Toyo R888R, Hankook RS4... Currently I’ve got 255/45/17 on 9” rims. Has anyone got an insight in to who sells such things/where etc? Any help appreciated.

No need any longer: I found one!

G’day all. Does anyone have an RB26 valley centre cover/spark plug cover they’d consider selling? Has to be genuine, ideally with the orig’ branding, but other than that can be a bit ratty(it’s getting painted)? Send me a message on oh four one four, four hundred and eighty four, one 7 uno! Pic for illustrative ideas!!

Spotted a good sounding black R34(I think a GTR; was a brief glimpse) prowling up a back street of B'dore just now. Local?
-
I've got about 300 more shots, but they're very cumbersome to upload. Solution? Come to the GTR Festival next year and see for yourself! It's quite amazeballs.

Spotto...a black R35...in Bungendore(!) I have seen this car a few times in the area; assuming it's a local. For the moment, I'm assuming it's the most powerful GTR in town, although that will change... There's also a scruffy R33 in midnight purple hanging around. Looks relatively stock, just...unloved.

Good feedback, team! I agree most get the brakes first then fit the wheels around them, but because mines a V Spec II, and 17" has been the nominal size AND I've got this sweet set of RAYS/Volks (with history to them), I wanted to stay 17. However, the car will need to harness a LOT more power and speed, so if I need more stopping power than I can fit under these rims, they'll be up for sale. O also don't want to 'over tyre OR over brake' the set up. It is possible to run silly size wheels that stuff up the handling and ride quality and it is also possible to have brakes too big that overwhelm the mechanical grip available, so it's a balancing act!

G'day team. Before anyone goes off, YES, I have done a search. No, I didn't get the answers I was looking for. In a nutshell: whats the biggest brakes people have managed to fit behind 17" rims on a BNR32? I've got some beautiful genuine RAYS LM-GT4's for my GTR in 17"...but I don't think I'll be able to get enough disc & caliper behind them to pull it up once it's back from it's *ahem* small heart transplant. So: I will be using the car for 'spirited' driving occasionally, and when it sees track days, I need it to pull up reliably time and time again, and from higher speeds than the standard Brembos can handle(they'll be getting sold off). I'm not going bigger than 18" for aesthetic and practical reasons, but I'm happy to keep 17" IF I can fit good enough stoppers. Clearance is the thang! R32 GTR peeps. Come at me. Tell me what worked. What didn't. Issues. Results. Photos?

Some early pics. The thing now is a completely different animal. Wait until it's revealed!

The open wheeler is still about! I'll let Mark chime in on the ownership of this new weapon, though! LOL!

There's a new kid on the block!

A few earlier photos; you should see this thing now! -
So much yes. I will be there, although I'd suggest sans GTR unless the team at CRD pull out all the stops (and even then, it would only be there on a run in tune...) Last year has some SERIOUS cars and much amazeballs things to see. Get on it peeps!

G'day team! There's a new kid on the block, readying to go full bore at Time Attack. I've been lucky enough to see some very cool things going on here, and some details can't be shared yet as they're closely guarded secrets, but if you want to see a no-expense-spared, dedicated and focused Time Attack R32 GTR getting built to mix it up with the big players, check https://www.facebook.com/XtremeGTR/
